Yes 😅 as a furniture painter I was thinking “I hope she knows about mineral spirits and steel wool for the intricacies and the legs” and you did! ⭐️ Really like the cast iron on the end table legs, it’s perfect with the wood top. The coffee table looks great too! Matches perfectly with the mantle and suits the room much better than the previous one. ❤
If you use a wood conditioner (pre stain) before staining it will reduce/minimize splotches on wood. Great job.

Thanks! I don’t normally use wood conditioner on hard woods (always on pine) but I totally should have used it on this project.
Love both tables, but that coffee table looks really great.
The coffee table is gorgeous! I love the legs on it. Fits the room so much better! Awesome job!

Thank you! It’s only 8 inches wider but it made a big difference! Way more convenient.
The coffee table definitely fits the space better than the old one.

I did too! I just didn’t love it with the lamp.
Kelsey! You’ve GOT to try “Retique It!” I used it to paint my old countertops, until I can replace them and I am ‘mind-blown!’ It looks JUST like wood and has been holding up beautifully for months now! You can do doors, tables, countertops, pretty much anything you want! Please look into it!

I’ve definitely seen my videos being recommended more and it’s mainly because of how much my subscribers are interacting with the videos so thank you!
One thing I have admired since I discovered you a few weeks ago & binged on your videos is your ingenuity & approach to finding cost-effective methods, aside from being a DIYer (I personally feel you are more skilled than so-called professionals I’ve hired). Could you maybe start noting tricks & alternatives to what we think we should do. For example, when can a cheaper product like panel or MDF be used instead of wood. Tricks in caulking to hide mistakes. My She-ro for home improvements & DIY. What to look for at places like Habitat or Thrift stores. Thanks !!

I agree. She finds easier ways to approach projects. I do a lot of DIY, so I know not all projects are easy, but she figures out better ways to accomplish a project and makes me feel like I can do it too. I have learned so much already just from watching her do these renovations.

Absolutely! Those are really great ideas. I will touch on this in an upcoming q&a video. Or maybe a whole dedicated video on ways to save money while doing projects!

I love how neat you are when you paint. I would have had paint all over that floor.😂
@KelseyRomitoDIY
Жыл бұрын
🤣🤣 I definitely get paint on the floor but it wipes right off with a wet cloth so I’m not too worried about it.
There is an after wash for the Stripper that helps remove the residue so you don’t gunk up your sander. Makes a big difference for me. Love that coffee table!! ❤
Tip: Instead of Citrestrip, use Klean Strip 15 min. No plastic wrap and it works much quicker so you can keep moving! (No affiliation but it's just awesome!) Also, if you use some mineral spirits on a rag to wipe it after you're done with the stripping, it won't gunk up your sanding pads.

Next time I try this, I’m definitely going to try the Klean strip!
Wow luv that coffee table! Great choice of color!
Thank you for this video. I have the same dark coffee table, and I’ve wanted to lighten mine. I didn’t know that there is a laminate on it. The table is so heavy. I thought it was real wood. This is gonna be my project this summer.
I still regret passing up a coffee table just like that, except it was oval shaped, a few years ago. This video just makes me realize how beautiful it would’ve been! When you first started removing your other coffee table I was wondering why you thought you needed another one, until I saw the new one in the space. It looks absolutely gorgeous and the scale is much better. Also, as soon as you said you were going to paint those legs, I just wondered how many TIMES you were going to paint those legs. Lol

🤣🤣 of course I couldn’t only paint it once!
It seems like you are well on your way to completely having your entire house made over (inside and out)! I’m excited to see what future videos you have planned! Both tables turned out great! Good job as always. I’m also looking forward to decorating for the holidays! It feels like Christmas today…we have at least 2 inches of snow on the ground! It’s so weird because on Thursday, it was in the 70’s and I was driving around with the sun roof open! Midwest weather at its finest! 😁

It looks much better...you did a great job!
You are (excuse my language) bad ass! ♥️💪🏼 I am taking all of your advice and applying it to my home ! Hopefully I’ll get some before and after 😉 thanks!
Love the coffee table and its shade! Give it a lot of character!!!❤️❤️
Looks so pretty! Love both of them. I love how you always just ‘GET IN THERE’ as I say -like when you painted the end table inside. Also, for Q&A purposes, how much prep do you do as far as materials, cuts, time, and things like that do you do for a project? I’d love to see a video (vlog style?) where you show your prep work outside of just design for your upstairs bathroom or for the master! You’re always so good at explaining things as you go. Thanks Kelsey!

Great ideas! That’s a part of renovating that I never really show because I thought people might find it boring but I’ll be sure to include more of that and talk about it a bit in the q&a. Thanks!
I just love how they came out!! I have a similar table that needs attention so I’ll definitely try out your stain combination!

I love your channel and style... Very creative ideas and the talent to pull it off! Thank you for not trying to act cutesy and or attempting comedy antics. There are youtubers that could do great, but their personalities ruin it. I'm looking forward to more videos.

Great job👍
I love the old cofee table much more bacause it is in harmony with the side table, they have more modern design. Now it is a kind of mismatch.

They turned out so well! Great job! I'm getting ready to strip an end table soon, so this was perfect to watch. As far as questions go....well, this isn't really a question, but I would love it if you could keep an ongoing list of your favorite tools/DIY supplies. I've been binge watching your channel and you use some pretty handy tools. For instance, I've noticed a couple different drills/impact drivers that you use. Do you have a favorite? Thanks!

Painting would have been 100% easier but I wanted the warmth of the wood since I have so much white in my home.
I have a coffee table that looks very similar to yours. I can’t wait to do that to mine. Thanks for this video. I just subscribed to your channel. Great idea.
Very nice job, Kelsey! ❤ I love both pieces, especially the nice sized coffee table. It’s perfect for the room. Sometimes a wood conditioner used before staining helps if the wood looks splotchy. (Been there!😮) Keep on keeping on! Enjoy watching your channel! 😁 💕

What transformation, your magic hands and hard work turned it from unto beauty. Question: do you have to strip old paint, and sand? What’s going to happen if you just paint another desirable color on the top of it?

Kelsey, isn't that like a $1,300 table from Pottery Barn??? Well done as always. This is just another dimension to your Channel that ppl. can enjoy. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!

It’s from Ashley furniture but I’m pretty sure it’s a dupe of the expensive pottery barn table- which was the look I was going for!
I think you've got too many wood hues going on. The coffee table and end table should match the mantle which is a pretty wood hue. What about painting the top of the coffee table the same color as the legs of the end table? Look at it for a few days and see what you think.

Merhaba kardeşim güzel video 🌹☕❤️👍🏻👍🏻
Why don't you just chalk paint the round table in a pretty color and you won't have to go thru so many steps. Stripping is very messy so I'd avoid it if possible.
@sacredmommyhood

She said in the video that if it didn't turn out the way she wanted it to, she would paint it. Clearly, she wanted to strip it for a more natural look. I'm getting ready to strip an end table myself...because I want that look....not the painted look. It's worth the effort. Plus, she also said she was experimenting, which is very helpful to the viewers. It was a great video!
Why not just put another piece of wood over the whole top, route the edge over....save yourself all that work.
