Making a Furby that’s visually one of the ‘classic’ ones, but with the software capabilities of or more software capabilities than the newest ones would be super cool honestly

This is where Covid and election stress brought me today and I am here for it

What i want to know is if its possible to replace furby connect's personality with the 'Cute' personality from the 2012 model. or to hack the 2012 model and make the cute personality the only personality. the cute personality was REALLY cute okay? XD ps, between originals, emotronic, 2012, booms, babies and emotronic babys and the connect my collection currently includes 20 furby's and its still growing

This was so exciting! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to figure it out though...technologically unskilled probably beyond learning that much info. However this fascinated me big time, I’ve been into furbies since they came out in the 90s and wasn’t allowed obnoxious toys. I always liked the actually robotics and interactive stuff but most of the Furby community that I see online only really like customizing their appearances and more often than not remove the actual robotics or never use them and I felt awkward because I love my Connect and turning him on and hearing him talk but it seems like most Furby collectors really don’t??? I love this other side of Furby fans I think I’m somewhere in the middle :-)

Same, I want to make a long furby boom without it only being a face plate or stopping it from moving up and down so I'm thinking of getting a second battery cover to attach a spine to and make it possible to take it out of a long skin and put it back in its original skin. I've come across one living long 2012 furby that I think you'd be interested in seeing, it's in a video by Chloebee called I made a long furby for the memes. If you like the 1998 versions more Fraya's footwear made a video called I made a long furby... that still works!!! And cholfable - making a working long furby (I've been on bit of a furby binge 😅). I haven't seen any long furby connects which is such a shame since they're the easiest to hack and you can make them play any audio, probably even change the eye displays with some finessing which would open up a whole new world of customisation. I'm sad that I'm 3 years too late for the openfurby project though, I think it was software for an arduino and instructions on hooking it up to a furby boom, I'm just hoping I can get onto the Facebook page that was saved on the way back machine.

I gotta give the original Furby the benefits; they were pretty advanced as far as 6502 computer goes (this CPU is common in most toys as they're stupid cheap for a vintage CPU), which allows for circuit bending and / or getting it to swear like a sailor via another computer hacking into the software running on that epoxy blob CPU. They were fun hacker playground, and still is, especially among the Arduino folks wanting to soak their feet into the low level hacking. Newer Furbys are a bit hard to hack, though as they are 32-bit chatterboxes nowadays with ARM processor inside - still a decent hacking platform if you know how to break into the bootloader security (some ARM bootloaders have NO security at all).

Imagine setting up a furby to be an animatronic speaker, hooked up to a voice-changer that you can speak into it and use it as a crazy Halloween decoration or prank piece

In hacking the Furby Connect is there a way to get Furby to sing the songs that no longer work on the app? I just got one and am sad that mine won’t ever be able to do this, It looked awesome!

I want mine to sing aswell I reset mine by moving it to a new device because its voice went mute while singing on the app on a samsung

Should be able to, you can get them to play any audio even if it isn't on the app (in the demonstration video from the guy who made this software he got his to sing never gonna give you up)

It seems you never did the follow up video's :(. I would love to see how you make a Furby Piano and what other custom stuff the Furby can do! :D

This won't work for me. Keep getting errors and skipping the bluetooth-hci-socket dependency. After "node fluffd.js" I just get "xpcError: connection invalid" --- What am I doing wrong?

How do I download this on windows?

I'm a furby lover. When I was like 3 or something my mom let me have her's. Im 14 now and I have 5, and might be adding a 6th to my collection. Sadly my mom's is now broken but I do have a limited edition 1999 furby thay works.
