aliphatic glue would be better glue for the paper to wood, for a 22yo your doing some clever things unlike others on youtube, your building to a set of plans, I'm impressed by your engineering, keep it up Jornt you'll go far lad😎👌

been using spray tac adhesive like he did for a while... seems to work fine too.
Boat building tip: to avoid deformation, build up a hull piece by piece symetrically - not one half first, then the other half. It prevents potential warping to one side, and will also make things more even if you want to do seam corrections simply because they are fresh in your memory as you go.

The worst part about finding this video is that when I saw part 1 I got excited then saw it was posted on May 15. Well, I'm bummed I can't binge-watch this but I'll def be here for the rest of the project!! Good luck!

Very nice designs, and I'm glad your using your PPE.
Found your channel through this video. Just brilliant. Really looking forward to more on this Jetski!
Great video and great designing, way better than I could ever attempt. I am currently building a stitch and glue sailing dinghy and I have a few suggestions: I am not sold on the PU glue that you used. Epoxy resin with wood flour or an additive like cel-o-fil that is designed for structural bonding and filleting would be a better choice. Also, try your hand at designing a stitch and glue hull. Instead of a frame with planks attached, bulkheads are used to add rigidity and water tight compartments for floatation. I think you could do it and would simplify the build process for any future designs.
This is great! So nice of your sister to help you carry it out! 😉 Love from Australia
Wow, this is really a wonderful video content Sir , since I was a kid I was obsessed with boats until now I'm still into dreaming of building one but I can't afford to do it since I don't have much , and then there comes your step by step video of how to create it , and then it gives me an inspiration to maybe try to build it bit by bit , and follow your drawings, instructions, dimensions and as well as your dedication to get it done . I just hope I can have your full or complete boat plan on my working table for in one way or another it could me help build my dreams. God bless you Sir, stay safe and healthy to keep you doing what you do, and inspiring us . It is an honor for me if one of these days you can share me your ideas on my first project. Thanks.
Amazing engineering and encouraging build of a superb project! Well done!
Sweet build so far! Looking forward to part 2!
Great job on those plains, if some one told be they are going to do what you are doing I would think "never going to happen" but I some how think that you can indeed do it...
Just found your channel and just found my next project. Awesome work, now heading off to watch your back catalogue. Patiently waiting (not) for the next instalment. Stay true.
Thank you for the Work you do. I will enjoy building this one. I expect it to produce many fun hours.
Looks awesome, keep up the good work!
Really cool it will be super strong with all those frames !

Vet he!
You did a really great job. I wish you a lot of fun with your boat.
Im suprised by the power of the drill!! Cant wait to see some real power in it!
I've been toying around with the idea of building a dirtbike/jetski hybrid for a while. This homemade jetski gets me excited
The wooden hull form could also be used as a fiberglass mold form for composite construction
@holmes1956O
2 жыл бұрын
My thoughts as well. I would have made the frame an exoskeleton and skinned the inside to make a mold and flipped a hull out of that all in fiberglass and composite
@Jagdtyger2A

@@holmes1956O Yes, some pinholes covered over with mold release and plumbed to a compressed air supply would pop out real nice fiberglass (carbon fiber) and foam hull sections nicely using vacuum forming. By the way what happened to part 2 of this build?
Looking forward to part 2 😊👍
how to build a boat : firstly 1 design a jetski , 2 use the plans and configure to your personal choice ,3 build the jetski half way , 4 put an old boat engine to your half jetski . and finally 5 ENJOY your new boat :> man it has never been easier to get your own boat. 10/10 recommend this video

Looks awesome bro! Some time ago I was searching on KZread for home made jetskis and I couldn't find any decent one.
That's a sweet little boat, nice work! That hull should be almost indestructible, given the thick plywood you used. Should be just about right for a jet-ski! 👍

When I was a kid in the early 80s my neighbor made some kayaks using the same skeleton frame design and then covered them with a canvas and waterproof paint.
Fabulous. Can’t wait to see how you make the jet engine
a few issues. 1 you should apply the resin before laying down a fibreglass layer. helps stick and prevents bubbles and warping. 2 You wore a respirator when applying the fibreglass but not even a mask when sanding it. That's how you die. Sanding Fibreglass is the most dangerous part
That thing is like the spruce goose ! Its gorgeous
Lookin awesome 👍🏻 great work as always

Buddy ,you are a genius...good job!
0:01; nice oneGot lots of free marine plywood offcuts but I will screw little bit on angle makes the structure stronger!
Absolutely awesome. Don't forget to use a respirator if you do a lot of this stuff.

I built a wood jetski , wood framing and plywood covering. Epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth . 7 HP shafted motor out to prop . Went a racing 15 mph.
Mate.. you want to build one with an alloy Hull for taking up rivers. Game changer.
Fantastic and wonderful and amazing and superb and great design
hi im from phillipines,i truelly admire your method of work, keep it up..
Any plans of filling the hull with foam? A couple of large blocks in the bow would prevent complete loss in the event of a catastrophic accident. Copying the inner design of the Yamaha this is modeled after would keep it afloat in a hurricane.

Not to take away from the excellent build but if you would have used the same panels you could have eliminated the frame all together using the “stitch and glue method”. It is the same process except no frame and it is almost as strong while being much quicker to build along with approximately a 50% weight reduction!
This is going to be fun to follow!
