They did a study on why that is in fact safe .. it turns out that the lions aren't able to make the distinction between the vehicle and the people sitting inside it, also it is so out of the norm for them that it doesn't interest them apparently.. sometimes they come close or sniff around but they don't see it as prey, nor as any sort of threat, so they just ignore it all together..

What i find most fascinating about this event is the fact that humans insert themselves into these wild animals lives and these animals are so used to seeing humans that they just go on about their daily lives. Clearly they see humans often enough that the humans can be driving right next to them in vehicles yet the animals don't even seem to know or care that they exist.

No, he definitely didn't. You should do your research on Hyenas. They are one of the toughest animals in the kingdom. I've seen Hyenas get chewed up by lions for 10 hours and survive. They can survive with wounds and broken bones easily.

Those male lions were not fully adult. If they were dominant pride males they would have killed him quickly and gone after more clan members. I would say 4.5 years old. Pride males in their prime years or so are much bigger.

Alligators and crocodiles are the most rugged animals on the planet in my opinion. These animals lose limbs and sometimes more important parts of the body (missing part of the mouth/jaw) and still flourish in the wild. If a Hyena loses a limb, it's game over without the ability to participate in hunting. PS Not a fan of Gators and Crocs....but you have to give them credit for surviving the mass extinction.

People think the hyena survive because is tough, but that is not the case. Hyenas are tough, but the lions did exactly what they wanted, and it was to torture the hyena. This hyena will not survive the night after all the damaged they did, just look at the hyena back. The hyena is moving by pure adrenaline, but after that it will die. A lion will always kill a hyena one way or another if the opportunity is there.

Animals don’t just attack anything. For example some people walk through this wilderness like Maasai. The animals get aggressive when it’s dark. During the day lions do not easily attack humans unless they feel threatened. Lions have different temperament from tigers and leopards. Tigers and leopards are more dangerous to humans. Also you’ll notice lions do not consume hyena and same goes with humans. Lions in the wild rarely attack humans. In zoos they do because they live under different circumstances.

Those lions apparently weren’t trying to kill that hyena or it would be dead. I think they don’t like the taste of those dogs. But one thing is for sure is those wild animals have all heart. The brutal toughness of a hyena is beyond measure. More than likely that Hyena died that night of its wounds but I thought it v was dead. He clearly has severe damage to the nerves of the spine and some broken bones and severe lacerations. How in the world was it able to survive being in the jaws of a 500 lb lion while another 500 lb lion mauled its backside and legs? Unbelievable toughness and durability.

The Honey badger is the only other animal that could survive this. Lions are my favourite land predator, but hyenas are better hunters contrary to popular belief with lions scavenging more from them than not. They are incredible family units with alpha females calling the shots ❤

I'm a truly Lion fan BUT i just can't deny how incredible, atonishing and shocking is that a predator/scavenger like a hyena is able to survive after being attack,injured and suffocated by 4 full grown male Lions by getting up and leave after that... There's 2 adult male lions plus 2 big adolescent males there is NO WAY a clan of hyenas could rescue a comrad from 2 adult male lions let alone 4. Hate seeing hyenas or lions get ganged up on especially when they have babies to care for

Broken back means he would have carried himself on 2 legs. The hyena stood up on 4 legs and “ran away” with the other hyenas. He just needed 10 seconds to get back to normality and that,s after being mauled by 5 huge male lions

The hyena was Lucky. The other lions didnt take part in the attack. They were close but for some reason they dislike hyenas , they dont like the taste of hyenas.

Now, there is no way in hell, this hyena is going to survive after being attacked by these lions. The skinn on the hyenas neck isn't that tough, to withstand that bite, that the lion is applying for that long period of time.

The hyenas did not rescue the attacked hyena, the lions thought the hyena was unconscious so released the grip than it ran off lol, as usual the title is wrong. The clan may have planned to rescue but once they saw 2 adult male lions plus 2 more adolescent males, they kept their distance you saw that yourselves. The attacked hyena was lucky that's all

Hyenas are team players equipped with sharp and solid jaws. Whereas Lions are often single players. Teamwork does not let their member taken by Lion no matter how fierce Lion is.

So my impression is if the tourists were not there, the hyenas would have moved in quicker and the whole situation would have played out differently. For the sake of video the natural process was unatural.

The Lion could have killed that Hyena easily but the Lion didn't show interest in Killing this time otherwise they Hyena was under Lions control and limping, the Lion simple rubbed his legs and warned the other Hyenas , anyway Hyenas are the toughest animal after Honey badger they are not easy to get killed, they can digest rotten meat, they can break and crack bones like chips, thier jaw are tough and unbreakable,
