Unemployed Chad who had a hobby funded by his wife...had too much time on his hands to make up a fantasy narcissistic life and people like this saw through him. He tried to scare them all into doing what he wanted and I'm glad they survived him and are here to tell a precautionary tale and notice red flags with other people in their church and life. We need no more people like that prison inmate who didn't deserve any of these people in his life.

Divorce in the LDS church is exceptionally rare because the family unit stands above all else, as does being subservient to your husband. It is believed that in order for a woman to get to heaven, her husband essentially has to escort her there. I can’t really explain the nuances in full detail, but yeah there’s no way Tammy would have left him unless there was definitive proof he was cheating or was physically abusing her or something. And sometimes even that type of thing gets swept under the rug in these marriages to keep up appearances with the congregation.

That conversation with Chad and Lori was so bizarre. Who cares whether the cop was a family relation? Where the heck were the kids? Why wouldn't the parent of missing children cooperate with the police? It is crazy they would refer to the police as "bothering" people and assume everyone would just buy-in to their story and not immediately think something was seriously off.

Chad even accused the police of threatening his daughter Leah, because the police were at her house asking where her father was. He definitely created his NDE's to manipulate people to follow him. And he repeated other people's "prophecies" to make himself a sort of idol that would attract followers. Lori fell for the whole thing. He used her as his gatherer and spoke through her to control others. Alex was completely convinced. Chad became lost in his own fantasies. He controlled life and death like a Mafia leader. I can't see Tammy being killed without his physical participation. As for Tylee, "I hurried and got my gun. One shot did the trick." Sounds like a confession to me. It take a long, long time to burn a body. I don't think Alex was on Chad's property long enough to do all that was done. I think of Tylee's remains embedded in Chad's pick axe. And the tool marks on her PELVIC remains. I think Chad enjoyed that. Lori had been mentally ill for a long time, but Chad wasn't sick in that way. It seems to me that Chad was simply an evil and wicked criminal. My grandmother used to say, "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." Chad is a perfect example.

He was running from the police with Lori and spending their mother's life insurance. He told his kids he wasn't their father anymore and he was an 'empty nester'. He just wanted to go off and act like a young lovestruck man without responsibilities. They were 'raised' by a covert narcissist who used coercive control and lies to control their lives.

That's if they're planning to share a cemetery plot. Mormons often put spouse names even if they're not going to be buried together. Like it will say "Beloved Wife of..." with the husband's name. It's for genealogy purposes, since that spouse might not be sealed. My understanding is that they are buried with whatever spouse they are sealed with, so Chad was likely planning to be buried with Lori. The fact that he didn't put his name on Tammy's headstone meant that he wanted that marriage erased from history. It wasn't enough insult that he sealed himself with Lori; he wanted to completely delete Tammy from his family tree.

I could understand standing by their dad if they were little children who lost their mom and have only their dad left, but they are adults. Most of them were grown when Tammy died. If there was even the slightest hint that my father was involved in my mother's death, he'd be cut off. It's also creepy that Chad was bragging his kids can keep secrets.
