Damn man, you really are one of the only ones who shows how to do the complete floor pan and WITHOUT a rotisserie! Im getting a 64 done and was looking at this your video and I really like the explanation and step by step process. Good shit man and thank you.

Thank you. I couldnt find a video of anyone showing how to do it. So I made this one since I had to do it. I hope it helps you out.
That's quite a job for 1 man - and it's looking good. Thanks for showing us that it's possible.
I love this car... I like how you are getting all the rust gone and saving it for another 50 to 75 years or more.
I appreciate you taking the time to document and explain every step. These videos can't just be thrown together and they don't just make themselves! Great job!

My parents bought a New 62 White Biscayne for 2200.00 The floor boards rotted out by 68. I learned to drive in that stripped down beach wagon when I ws 14 in 69. We had a summer house on Cape Cod and in winter the private roads were empty. After Mom fell asleep off I'd go.
Good video and seeing you back on the wagon.
Looks great!

Glad you posted. Was starting to wonder... Nice job on the floor pan. You are going to have a nice grocery getter when it is complete.
I like these kind of videos. I had a 64 chevelle SS that I wanted to restore. Unfortunately it got worse the more I removed and long story short sold it.

Thanks so much
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for doing these videos on the 62, I just watched the whole set. I am working on a 61 bubble top and it needs the same front floor and rocker work as yours did. Fortunately, my trunk floors and rear wheel houses are nice. Both my inner rockers are like your pass side, esp at the front with that lower cowl reinforcement (that no one makes) needing to be re-created on both sides. I have been trying to figure out whether to buy the complete floor and take it apart or to buy the pieces and put them together.
I just did my 1960 Belair, 2 door sedan. 1 piece floor pan. there were 6 separate floor braces, I only needed 4 of those. I installed my pan WITHOUT removing the body from the frame... Simply cut the old floor out, then cut the one piece pan in half, left side to right side, (Not down the center of the transmission tunnel) that way, put the rear portion in first, tack it in. then the front section.. position and tack it in.. until all sides look right, then weld. Again, my 1 piece pan went in WITHOUT removing the body from the frame, thats a BIG DEAL... IT can be done.. Sorry I didnt video it, I might post photo shots on video later.

There are several ways to do it. I wanted it all to be one piece like the factory. I had bought the pan that welds down the middle but returned it for this one piece pan. It was less work and I got all the panels I needed which I needed them all.

@@4LaneBlacktop I like many people need a new pan, but can't afford the time and expense of removing the body from the frame and all the side issues that causes. My car stayed on its own 4 tires, engine, trans in tact and 4 days later running and driving as usually. Im very happy with my results, just telling others it can be done. Id do it again... in fact I looking for my next project.. usually cars that need a complete floor pan are dirt cheap, and no one wants to attempt that.
I like this video, very informative

Your video was Killer. I might be partial to this editing style though. Lol. You crushed it in this one. I need to get my videos more like this. Good information and good content secondary.

@@4LaneBlacktop Vielen Dank.
How did you get the inner rocker made. I have a 62 Impala. Did you find someone with a long enough brake? These reason I am asking is my inside rockers need to be replaced. The floor is solid except two small places in the floor and inside rocker panels.
good job, I'm working on 62 convertible and doing same deal on floors. The complete pan deal. Question i have is my inner rockers don't look same as yours.
@4LaneBlacktop

They should be pretty close. The only reason I could think they would be different is because yours is a convertible.
4 door cars are parts cars used as panel donors, to fix the more desirable 2 door impalas yehaaaa.

Not really the case with the wagons anymore. They are pretty desirable just like the 2 doors.
So will you do the body panels while off the frame also.

I will probably fix the quarters once I get it back on the frame. Im trying to get it insude for the winter so I can free up the driveway and get it moving under it own power again.
Do you have info on a part number and supplier I can get that full pan from? Thanks!

Contact Hubbard Impala Parts or check out their website.

Question for ya do they sell the inside rockers ? No the piece connected to the pan. Or the outside piece. The inner that you never see.
@4LaneBlacktop

If you are talking about the inner brace in the rocker, they do not make it. I had one made from 14 gauge steel for me. You can see it in the video I did on the passenger side rocker.

This one came from Hubbard's Impala parts right down the road in Burlington, NC. One of the leading Impala parts suppliers in the US.
Where do you get these?
@4LaneBlacktop

I bought this one from Hubbards Impala parts right before 2020. They are probably hard to find now.
Thanks, but I'll keep my money in the bank. I don't see the economic reason to pour that kind of time and money on a rust bucket.
@4LaneBlacktop

Way better than money in the bank. The prices on these thing keep going up way faster than the dollar. Even in the shape its in it will be a $30k+ car when it is finished with way less than that in it.

@@4LaneBlacktop Yes, and even if that is true, you are probably making less an $1.00 per hour by the time that you count all of your time. However, do what you feel is best.
