I’ve had a square body for two years and haven’t touched it and just watching you take your time and get such a great result makes me want to start tinkering with the ol thing! Great video thanks for giving me that push I’ve been needing to get out there and get stuff done!

At work we grind the spot welds down and it makes it way easier to peel it up

It was so rusted I could not yell where the spot welds were, do you have a technique how to find them when they are terribly rusted and pitted?
GREAT VIDEO

Good luck, if you can lap everything with no gaps. Have a better result.
Shoot just drill a 1" hole then put in a plastic plug. The next guy will appreciate access to the cab bolt.

YES, Its a lot of work, But worth it
Hi, nice video, you were right it is a lot of work. I did the drivers side on a 70 GMC cab. I turned off the lights last night and put a bright work light under the floor. I saw some pin holes where light could come through, I zapped them and ground them and zapped them and ground them. How to you finish off the butt welds to seal them up? I am thinking primer and primer and maybe seam sealer and then undercoating on the bottom. I think I got all the pin holes but I want it sealed up nice and tight. Thanks

I used paintable silicone sealer in a tube from Lowes worked awesome
So the only issue I seen is that you didn't replace the 16 gauge plate that's welded to the floor support the floor brace then that ties all those together and then the floor pan goes down over it

@@unclebucksgarage7695 thank you
In what way did water get into the cab to rust out your floors? How did you go about fixing the "leak"? My floors are somewhat rotten as well not sure how they get wet.

Leaking from the heater core when they go bad its on that side of the cab
@Geoduck.

@@grantslater2485 Thanks I should have guessed that. I found out my issue is the caulking in the cowl vent is rotted and alowing water to seep into the cab.

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE I TRIED TO FIX IT
WD 40 is not a real penetrating oil it is nothing more than deodoried kerosine and it evaporates fairly quickly ,there will most certainly be nothing left behind after a month! You should get a real penetrating oil to do the lubricating of rusty bolts!
