K.Böhm hat hart für Japan gearbeitet ! Japan ist seit 1975 auf dem Vormarsch. Mozarts Opern "le nozze di Figaro",dank ihm konnten wir die Realität sehen. Böhm u.Wph. sind Wohltäter !
Brava! Agnes at her very best. This and the Composer in Ariadne marked her debut in Japan and she returned many times to an adoring public.

Baltsa visited Japan a few years earlier as a soloist of Berliner Philharmoniker under Karajan. She sung Massa da Requiem of Verdi together with Freni,Ghiaurov and Lima. I attended 2 performances.

@@1952yoshio Thanks for clarifying. You are correct. Her concert debut in Japan was on 24 Oct 1979 with the BPO in the Verdi Requiem in the Fumonkan Hall. That must have been exciting!
この日本公演のこと覚えている。ヘルマンプライにルチアポップ、それにアグネスバルツァ。今思うと夢のような歌手達。残念ながらチケットが手に入らず、モーツァルトの「後宮からの逃走」を観ました。
Baltsa's great, but this is also IMO Popp and Janowitz's best documented performances of the Susanna and the Countess respectively. Popp's Susanna is definitive as far as I'm concerned and she's better here than either Solti recording.
