Great video, couple years ago I bought the know your limits steel and got some guys together and I was surprised that most of the 22 rifles that came out were 10/22s with a few older bolt actions and the sport took off quickly. I’ve always been the guy that worked on my firearms until they did what I wanted them to do so we ended up doing things to everyone’s rifles, good tuneups. In the beginning very few people could run the targets clean, after awhile more people did. I recently moved from Florida back to Tennessee to a great range and will begin all over getting people involved. The rifle I use now is the Ruger Custom Competition with a 16X SWFA and it does the trick with value ammo. I’m going to get in touch with Vodoo Gun Works and see what they can do for me. This was a great video, learned a lot. Thank you very much PS Our rifle range goes out to 500 yds, can’t wait to get started.

I used to shoot with an old German Schützen group in the Texas Hill Country. We found various rim thickness gauges that helped a lot with tiny groups. This was 10 rounds, open sight, heavy barrel, usually single shot, open sights, 100 yards. X-ring was the size of a typewriter period, with the 10-ring being about 1 inch.

I’m sure there are some benefits to doing a custom one off build from these guys. But I’ve seen a lot of reviews on there guns and the groups they shoot (which are great). But I’ve been able to shoot the same with the new CZ457 line and a little work to it I did myself. Even created a dope card for it and everything and with my optic it’s spot on at varying distances. I’ve taken it out to 400 yards without a spotter using CCI sub Sonics. I’m sure it could go further but I can’t hear or see a 22 that far out. I just think if you have the money and can afford this then go for it. Shit I’d love one but all that money just for a 22 isn’t worth it to me when my cz457 is a tac driver.

Videos that do not show target results are pretty much a word salad to me. I watch videos all the time on 22lr rifle accuracy, and even match shooting targets that have 25 bulls show bullets from $3500 rifles wandering from clipping one side of the x ring to the other side to the top and bottom. That's around a .3" 50 yard group. If anyone has examples of better performance on youtube, please steer me there. I have three rifles I consider 'target' rifles, all have their factory stocks; one is a 45 year old Remington Matchmaster, one is a Savage Mark II FVSR, and the other is a Savage Mark II FV. When I'm paying attention, all will shoot .25 to .4" five shot groups at 50 yards consistently, from bipods or bags. As I said, all have factory stocks (the Remington is wood, the Savages are plastic), albeit with Cheek pieces added. The only ammo I shoot is CCI standard velocity. I wouldn't know where to look to find a lot number, and after tens of thousands of shots, I haven't found a brick that doesn't shoot well. My daughter has a Savage Mark II BTVS with a Boyd's stock (factory supplied from Savage) and she gets similar performance. These are well made but relatively inexpensive rifles. I have yet to see evidence that pouring more money into them either from upgrades or ammo or more expensive rifles is going to make a difference in performance. Again, if you've seen something on KZread that disputes this, please let me know, I'm ready to learn better.

I could not help noticing how you seem to be talking down to Mr. Workman. Your laughing while asking questions, and lack of knowledge about gauging the rims of ammunition, weighing each round, etc.., was also annoying. You may not think very much of rimfire shooters, they are not with the " big boys " in center fire, but they can shoot long distance too.

You can shoot 500 rounds of match grade 22 for $50. Shooting 500 rounds would cost you $500: 10 trips to the range and you've easily paid for this rifle. It's not your thing, that's fine, but your comment shows a clear lack of ability to see the bigger picture.

The reason why they have gone away from using chrono at muzzle end, is because down range, the errors "appear" to be reduced. Im thinking they want to cover up, mask ammunition inconsistencies and they want better statistics. By having a chrono near the muzzle, it tells the truth. And the truth hurts sometimes. They cannot make the ammunition accurate enough, and price you are paying for MATCH ammo is ridicules anyway. Every manufacturer wants to look good on paper, and by moving the chrono downrange, it is going to give them those biased figures to make them and their ammo look good. Sorry, i disagree with the idea of moving the chrono down range, as it is masking errors in the ammunition and that is NOT what you want. Bottom line is, they need to make better MATCH ammo, and it looks like this is really challenging them, so they are fiddling with the figures to make them look much better than what they really are.
