Finding The Harmonic Sweet Spot Of Your Precision 22 Rimfire: Video 1 of 11

Most competitive shooters will custom load they ammo to match the harmonic sweet spot of their specific rifle. With .22 rimfire handloading isn't a standard practice. So how can a serious competitor find ammo that will provide maximum performance in their particular rifle?
In this Video, Andrew Workman gives you some insights into barrel harmonics or precision 22 rimfire and what you can do to maximize your rifles performance. Andrew, is the Director of Operations for Vudoo Gun Works, the leading precision .22lr rifle company in the country. As a precision .22lr competitor, match director, and Director of Ops at Vudoo Gun Works, Andrew has been immerced in all things related to precision 22lr and is one of the most experienced individuals in the field.

Great video. Thank you. I find it funny that's theirs more rimfire rifle's out their than any other. But lots of shooters turn their nose to airguns and 22LR . I love shooting no matter what. All the same skills apply. Great video. Thanks again. Very informative .

Manufacturers vary the primer to vary velocity in different types of rounds. Also only around 50% of the powder in a 22lr is burned in a match length barrel.

As to the contribution of powder vs primer....if you were successful pulling bullets and weighing the powder charge...,maybe simply re-seat the bullet into the cartridge ( no powder), and shoot....using a chrono....and see the % difference in muzzle velocity.

These days with the cost of even cheap ammo, the best way to insure your rifle will group without buying cases of tested ammo is to use a barrel tuner and tune barrel harmonics to what ammo is available

Another point...hmmm.....if 22LR uses 1.00-1.06 grains of powder....and it doesn't even come close to filling the case.... one wonders what is the performance of 22Long and 22Short?... they obviously (?, check?) have lower velocities....what kind of powder charge do THEY use?....would it be 1/2 grain (hard to "control" to this precision level, as to manufacturing tolerances), or could it maybe be another kind of powder?, .. but lower energy powder and still 1 grain?.....would be interesting to find out.

Awesome stuff, but why keep it at 3 minutes long? We need hours of this type of content.
