Kovalev was once the boogeyman in 175. Besides Ward, he was destroying everyone. The fact Canelo who was once a 154 pounder just came up to 175 and walked him down and brutally knocked him out is just insane. I'll be honest, initially I thought fighting Kovalev was a bad idea but he made it look easy. Canelo has made history all around.

If u actually watch the fight u would know it actually wasn’t easy or looked easy😂u must’ve only seen the KO… one judge had kovalev winning and another judge had it a draw

@@whyatthayden2687 I had the Canelo slightly ahead after the tenth. No, it wasn't easy, but it felt like it was inevitable. Kovalev fought a cautious fight, like he did in the second Eleider Alvarez fight, but that strategy is a whole different story with Canelo. Kovalev probably should've pressed harder in the eighth, when it looked like Canelo was resting/baiting and was backing up. That may have been Kovalev's best or only chance to win the fight. I also think Canelo could've stepped up his pace earlier in the fight, as well. Either way, with Kovalev throwing so many punches, it keeps him in the scoring, but this fight never seemed to be in doubt that Canelo would increase the pace and end it.

Kovalev was vulnerable at this point though. The fight against Alvarez was less than three months after Kovalev’s war with Anthony Yarde. The Russian should’ve taken more time to recoup.

We don’t even mention this enough as one of Canelo’s feats... He’s at freaking Light Heavyweight, Canelo was able to knock kovalev out and make the power puncher afraid to throw... that’s unreal, plus the fight was close until the KO cause of how many jabs kovalev was landing but Canelo was dictating the pace and hitting all the power punches, so If it went to the judges it wouldn’t have been a sure win but he took the judges out of the equation

Quite literally "pound for pound," he's beat champions across 4 weight classes; names like Miguel Cotto, Sugar Shane Moseley, Daniel Jacobs, Gennady Golovkin, etc. Crawford stays at 147, and hasn't yet fought anyone of real renown that you could name off the top of your head unless you were a fan of his. It also isn't a very stacked division; Crawford is pretty comfortable as the king in 147. His career just seems very lackluster and isn't memorable when compared to Canelo, who's had some great wars (mostly technical) in his career.

Kovalev might be a bit washed in this fight but it was still impressive and he was MUCH bigger than Canelo. Coincidentally, that's why I don't buy into the "Bivol was too big" excuse. Bivol was much smaller than Kovalev. Bivol never used his size to beat Canelo. He straight up and down outboxed him. Being bigger doesn't mean you make all your opponent's punches miss!

Bivol weights 183lbs, Canelo weighs 181lbs. Bivol is bigger but not 20lbs bigger like the casual said. Canelo is not just a 5'8 he is a massive 5'8 Bull look even thicker than Bivol. Zurdo weighs 204lbs (outweigh Bivol by more than 20lbs), Bivol still smashed him.

@@hanzoking5703 totally agreed. It's a myth that Canelo is some tiny guy. Canelo weighed in on fight night at like 174 as far back as TROUT! Bivol was just the far better boxer - period. Besides, Bivol fights bigger guys all the time too - it's not like he ONLY fights smaller guys or something. He fights them bigger or smaller and stays undefeated. That's skill.
