This still makes me emotional the respect they have for each other, the fact that neither bad mouthed each other.❤ the kiss Cotto gave Canelo and the way Canelo immediately opened his arms for a hug.

Mi favorito era "Felix Tito Trinidad".

As a Mexican myself I absolutely had Miguel Cotto as one of my all time greats. He never ducked anyone and was absolutely assaulted and cheated in his first fight against Margarito and his cheating packed gloves. That fight took a lot out of him.

I think another thing that ruined Cotto was that he stopped using his best punch, the left-hook to the body.

I'm a huge Canelo fan, but my respect for Cotto, he showed great strength and composure. Cotto has great technique.

Cotto did great. No shame in this loss at all. Not too many guys survive the Canelo power, it was a competitive fight. Very respectful sportmanship...awesome fight. Two real gladiators

Canelo destroyed cotto??when did that happen?they went toe to toe all night!

I seen this about 10 times and it is always a great thrill! None of these gentlemen lost there legs during the bout! None demonstrated fatigue. It was a great display of power and tactical fighting. I always end up seeing an even fight! Cotto slipped away from a great deal of power punches with an elegant style. He did everything, he rode bicykle, he engaged with Canelo in the middle of the ring. He out jabded Canelo many times and established great combinations, backing up Canelo. These guys are worthy of admiration and great respect!

The only thing he might have been scared of is all the very low blows from Canelo which the referee warned of yet never took points including low blow at the beginning of 12th round. That takes a toll!! Fight was even, alot of so called power shots landed on gloves of Cotto. Announcers were biased saw some imaginary fight.

This is real boxing with 2 artists at work. Beautiful clean technique

@onlyrog5 How do you cherrypick the lineal champion? Canelo haters seem immune to logic. And no, the weight difference wasn't insane. Cotto rehydrated in the 160s and Canelo has never rehydrated as much as some people try to claim. He was 170 in his last fight with Jacobs.

only 1 clinch in the entire fight in round 12. now you dont see that in other fights. that speaks of the quality of these fighters! pure boxing enthusiasm

Cotto really countered canelo’s fighting style well, he just didn’t have enough power in his shots to do as much damage as Canelo did with his power punches. Great fight, really shows how amazing Canelo is

I've never heard such a one-sided commentary in all my life. Very few replays was showed of Cotto's quality performance. It was a great win for canelo but Cotto had his moments in the fight! The size difference between the two fighters shows that they're both from two separate divisions. But regardless of that it was a great quality boxing match by two great champions.

Con todo respeto usted si se ve que sabe de boxeó aquí ay quienes dicen que coto le dió una palisa al canelo cosa que demuestra que no saben de boxeo ni papa aquí fue muy justo el triunfo del canelo quien iso lo suficiente para ganarle a coto quien salió sangrando del rostro al final de la pelea coto nunca dijo que su derrota fue un robo y que el abia ganado esa pelea se puede decir que fue una pelea cerrada pero por muy poco ganó el canelo

Sinceramente aquí en ésta pelea era muy superior Cotto a Canelo, de hecho el llevaba la pelea ganada, pero si no es por el PODER$$ del Canelo otra cosa hubiera sido... Considerando la ventaja del Canelo ya que le llevaba bastantes años Cotto, en conclusión... "COTTO IS THE BEST BOXING IN ALL HISTORY"

I love boxing it’s my favorite sport… always enjoy a fight between 🇲🇽 and 🇵🇷. My first fights were with my dad watching Julio Cesar Chavez I was like 7 when he fought macho Camacho… I remember I was jumping off my seat. Mexicans and puerto ricans We fight for blood and love of the sport neither backs down.. since I can remember these two flags put priceless fights in the ring. And as a Mexican that knows the sport I recognize Cotto as one of the best boricuas ever.

Cotton has always bn my favorite fighter despite his losses n wins. He is a truly warrior in all aspects of combat sport. Canelo is a bigger mid. weight , his win over Cotto is quite predictable. But Cotto shows his heart by countering Cotto to his best n optimum capability.

Cotto was past his prime and much smaller. The win was not impressive at all. Golovkin would have easily stopped Cotto like Pacquiao did.
