Full Day at the Cabin | Consciously Disconnecting
Ойын-сауық
It's been a while since we've posted a full on "Day at the Off Grid Cabin" video. Today, we'll take you along with us for nearly our entire day at the cabin - minus breakfast. We'll split up some kindling for the woodstove, trim some more pine trees, have some lunch, dig up a few more pine trees to take home to the homestead, cook some pizza in a cast iron dutch oven pot, and head down to the river to collect some water so we can take a shower and do dishes.

Love this ❤ The hammock part made me tear up. What a beautiful life you have.
My mother-in-law always used scissors! The pizza looks wonderful!!
If you use paper, instead of lighter fluid to start the coals, you have a cleaner tasting food. At least that has been my experience.😊😊
For the pizza ideas, we used to use a camp pie maker over the fire. We would just use two pieces of bread with the pizza filling in the middle. For some reason we always call it a pudgy pie maker. We would also use it with pie filling mix to make cherry pie or peach pie etc. Your pizza turned out great!

I used to make those pizza sandwiches over the fire all the time. I think we still have one somewhere.
it looks like an Oriole nest Bullock's Oriole nest Orioles weave a hanging, pouch-like nest with an opening at the top
How do guys not get covered in ticks. They’re so bad here in MO. Oh my heart. You two on that hammock.

We have a lot at home, hardly any at the cabin.
I use my big cast iron skillet with a lid and coals top and bottom. I don't precook my dough
I am so excited for your new channel. Have you considered a hand pump to draw the water up, even part way. I use rain catchment and there are systems that dump the first bit of dirty water. When you were discussing the pizza, I was going to direct you to this awesome couple who make a pizza I love- That 1870s Homestead- and then the brain cells all kicked in. LOL. Hugs from Ontario

We have a system almost setup to help us haul water up there, and a big storage tank that we can use. We'll have some videos about this year.
Loving the new channel and this style videos. Great job on the pizza! I have utterly destroyed a dutch oven pizza before, its not easy to get right :)
We also didn't use charcoal. We've always used coals from our campfire
Pretty sure humming bird. Love your place! I have a dapple doxie, such lovable pups❤ Your pizza looked fabulous! Love your channel.

Thank you! 😊
Maybe a finch nest? Do a search for pendulous nests in Michigan and look at the images.
looks like a hummingbird nest they make them out of spider webs and natural fibers from thistle etc
Looks like a humming bird nest to me.
Did she say you had kielbasa from your pigs?
