You can get healthy, fit, and strong from home - with just your body and gravity! This is part of a series I'm doing on accessible bodyweight exercises. If you want the "easier" version you can Google "Home Workout for Beginners Hybrid Calisthenics". There's a short 60 second version and a longer 26-minute one! Of course, we have a free fitness routine on our website. Links don't work here, but you can search "Hybrid Fitness Routine" and it'll pop up. If you want a physical version, you can search "Hybrid Calisthenics Book" Method: Train your exercises 2x a week for 2-3 Sets to near failure (as many as you safely can). Move on to harder exercises when you hit the goal standards. Full Pushups Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 25 Narrow Pushups Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 20 Full Leg Raises Goal Standard: 2 Sets of 25 Hanging Leg Raises Goal Standard: 2 Sets of 25 Full Pullups Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 12 Narrow Pullups Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 9 Full Squats Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 30 Side-staggered Squats Goal Standard: 2 Sets of 20 (Both Sides) Glute Bridges Goal Standard: 3 Sets of 50 Progress twists whenever you feel like it. Have a wonderful day!

What I enjoy about this series is the emphasis placed on building up towards the more difficult/targeted exercises, making it useful for people just starting out, folks who might have issues with mobility, or progressing to harder exercises at their own pace.

Hi! Thank you for showing gradual transitions to more challenging versions. Now there’s a bridge in my perception between “squat-single leg squat” :) Even when I was training professionally as an athlete, it was hard to build strength on regular squats to transition to single leg squats right away. It’s great that I know about all these option now! 😊

I am chronically ill and can’t do strength training for more than 10 seconds. So I do max effort single rep curls. And I just added jumping. Once a day I’m going to try to get my feet as far off the ground as possible. It’s a 1 second exercise and is way more force on my legs than squats.
