I recently tried the xpro3 and loved it! It’s like an x100v but with the ability to swap lenses and it’s for sure on my wish list!

The x100v definitely is my favourite camera for my photography preferences!

At this point I’d probably wait to see if they release an update. You’ll either find one someone is selling or snap up a new on. I also really like the xPro line for its simplicity

Great video. I love my x100v and have found that a huge percentage of my keepers on a trip turn out to be from the x100v instead of my bigger systems.

Nice video and interesting perspective from a backpacker! I typically use a Pentax FF beast and tripod for my landscape and seascape shots. However, taking out the gear for random shots is too much of a hassle most of the time. I keep the X100V outside of the pack either on a strap or just on my wrist for those snapshots that are meant for me or family instead for my portfolio. It’s a great camera to have on my way to the mountain peak to document the ascent before pulling out all my heavy gear from the backpack for the main shots. I never would have considered such a small camera if it weren’t for it’s solid build and most important, its weather sealing!

Great video so tempted to add a x100v to the arsenal for a cruise were going on next March around the Caribbean I’ve just had 2 weeks around Cornwall but ended up lugging both r6 with ef 16-35 and r7 with rf 100-500 around with me and although I love the pics I got I’m thinking more just concentrate on the scenery landscapes which I love the panoramic mode on the r7 with the 16-35 that has made some awesome images to the point I’ve just been checking out some panoramic and medium format cameras for pano pics lol but need to wind it back and think simple and compact that’s where the x100v ticks the boxes

It's REALLY hard to simplify and I know the X100V is hyped, but it's all for good reason. I too struggle with wanting to take too much stuff with me, but any time I take a single fixed lens camera, I shoot more and my images are better. If I were you, I'd take an X100V for documenting your trip and toss r7 and 100-500 in your bag JUST in case you find yourself needing it or wanting it. My guess is you'll probably leave it in the bag though but it's there to make you feel good haha

Great video, going to New Zealand in Feb. just picked up the x100v, love the size. I don’t know about this for landscapes would love to just bring this camera but would be nervous. I really like shooting compression landscapes. I also have a Sony a7riii with a wide/zoom lens.

Thanks! I 100% appreciate where you’re coming from. I think if you know you enjoy a certain look, go that route or you’ll be regretting it. You could also have a tele on your main camera and use this one for a walk around.

Hey Michael, If you're unsure about a 35mm for landscape I suggest you consider the wide lens adaptor which works lovely for New Zealand's landscapes. I own a X100 myself, travelled with it around the world and now live in New Zealand where I still sue this camera a lot. It works like a charme and is very compact!

I ordered an X100V from my local camera shop back in February (5 months ago) … still waiting! I plan on using the Fuji UV filter and hood … similar to what you have. Just wondering if you have a case for the camera? I’ve been thinking it would be nice to have the camera with the hood attached in a case that I could then carry on a stabilized shoulder strap while I’m cycling. Thanks for this interesting video … I hope my camera arrives one of these days!

Try the Nisi filter. The Fuji lens cap fits on it and the Fuji leather case fits with it on. Nice and convenient.

Thanks! I do my best to keep it super simple by either using a preset or slightly modifying the image here and there. Whatever gets me closes to film, but not TOO close is what I like.

I'm waiting for the X100VI.. the camera is more hybrid now with the IBIS.. a slight upgrade.. and some improved auto focus

Honestly, the vi isn’t much of an upgrade from the v. It’s not bad, but I was going for more. I’ve never had an issue with not having ibis. If you can get a vi for the standard price, go for it, but don’t over pay. I’d consider getting a v for less and wait for the following upgrade.

I'm preparing for a long trek in South America, and I recently bought the Fuji x100v, but I'm a bit confused about the way to carry my little beast on my trip. I know it's light and compact, but how do you carry your x100v? When you're not using it, do you have a little pouch or something like that ?

I feel your pain! I would normally suggest the Capture Clip from Peak Design, (amzn.to/3OWeqzC), but the base place will get in the way of the battery compartment so getting to the SD card will be annoying if you're having to pull it on an off all the time. If I were you, I'd bring a thin camera strap (amzn.to/3OWeqzC) and/or some kind of small fanny pack to keep it in so it's on the hip ready to go when you need it AND when you take your pack off, it's always on you. Capture Clip: amzn.to/3OWeqzC - if you're going to charge your camera from the port on the side and you're not taking your SD card out all the time, go this route. Thin Camera Strap: amzn.to/3OWeqzC - I have this one and it's awesome Lightweight Fanny Pack: You're choice on this one! Make sure it has a thin strap and won't interfere with your pack when you wear it. The secondary benefit here is being able to stash your wallet or other items in here as well so it's ALWAYS on you

I’ve only had the silver but I did have a black xT4 and shot with the black xpro 3

if u would take one lense for hiking, 4 days, what lense would u choose? I have the XS10, and want a light set for filming and still photo

Great question. I think the 16-55mm f2.8 will be a great fit for both video and photo. It'll get you a wide enough field of view at 16mm without being TOO wide, while also the ability to zoom in on a subject, blow out the background for a nice portrait. It'll also do well in low light conditions at f2.8. The 16-55 is the equivalent of a standard zoom on full frame of 24-70 which is far more flexible when it comes to what kind of images it can capture.

It is expensive but worth considering: flash and ND filter included; fixed lens means you don't spend any time researching other lenses, nor money buying them 😉

There's a bunch amazing hybrid cameras at that price, and the x100v is a niche "photo experience" camera that's not chasing specs or numbers, but rather the feeling you have when shooting. You can get a Sony apsc with a lens for that price if you want a hybrid 🤷‍♂️

It really depends... When you're starting out/you're shooting commercially it's great to have a zoom lens and not worry about having angles covered... When you're shooting for yourself and have been shooting professionaly for a while it's nice to have a camera like that with a fixed lens that let's you slow down and enjoy the process of taking a photo and remembering the moment while looking for that perfect angle) I have cameras much more expensive that the x100v, but having something small like that, that let's you slow down and enjoy is amazing!

My real point was: vloggers subliminally marketing product to the masses and giving poor advice along the way. It's out of control on KZread and it isn't cool. There's no doubt it will be denied that this vlog wasn't somehow paid for via Fuji so there's zero point beating a dead horse. Won't be watching again. Have a great day and happy journeys!

@@timshields8720 man, you really got a problem with someone liking a fixed lens over zooms? It's called creativity for a reason 🤣🤣🤣 I used to specifically have a 35mm lens for my camera that I would take with me to travels over a zoom lens to create more natural pics before the x100v.... If you don't see the value of having a prime only camera, or a very niche camera you don't sound like much of a photographer... This camera is not a beginner camera, but it's an amazing tool for someone who has been in the industry for a while and needs a camera to take on light travels and capture memories while retaining quality
