I think these are all good improvements but I would sacrifice the battery and the grip and the d-pad (all of which I do think would be great improvements) for IBIS. If they just released the same camera again with IBIS, I would still buy it.

Honestly, I’m against paid firmware upgrades. I would wonder how much of a “crippled” camera will be sold at the start, with “planned” upgrades down the line. I wouldn’t ever pay for upgrades to a camera. Maybe that’s just me…

I have the XT30 ll and I'm already happy with it, in the next version I'd like it to have the XT5 engine, having more MegaPX is just better for me, I often find myself doing crops and so having more is better! For the rest it's fine as it is!

It is a great little camera. I am afraid the XT40/50 will never come. Rumours are the XT30ii is the last in line. Sadly. Have you tried to shoot with a more narrow focal length? It would probably get rid of some of the cropping. I have would recommend the 90mm f/2 or sigma 56. Check the episodes on the channel if you are interested.

At this point, a hybrid LCD panel should be standard on every camera. It literally pleases everyone.

I have a X-T30 since it launched - somewhere in 2019 I believe. I shoot with the 18mm f/2 and 27mm f/2.8 most of the time. I don't care about video, never used it. I would not mind if they ditched all video functions and gave us more memory space for film simulations and more possibilities to make your own simulations and store more than 7 in memory. I would also love wheather resistance on the X-T50. An instant buy for me would be a X-T50 monochrome, a black and white only version, where they removed the X-trans filter on the censor. Say like the Leica Q Monochrome.

Not sure what they will add with this camera other than the “photographer’s travel/light kit”…they can’t offer too many options that would already surpass the XT5. If they didn’t upgrade the battery on the X100VI no seeing this one happening. I love this camera format, my old Xt30 will be traded in for this one for sure

Hi Paul. Personally, for the X-T50, I'd ask Fuji to: 1. Market this as a TRAVEL PHOTOgraphy Cam. 2. To keep the price lower: ***Just cripple the video features and retain the same spec as the X-T30ii ***Use the same robust build quality as the XT3's (Most robust as many have claimed) ***NO IBIS ***XTrans4 sensor BUT XTrans5 Processor similar to the X-S20 ***Weather sealed Hoping this list makes sense.

Hi Nathan, thanks for your input I agree that the camera is perfect for street and travel photography. The IBS for me is not needed. Video capability or not is a great question for a poll :) I do agree with the strong processor over higher mp sensor. Reasons explained in the episode. Question would you be willing to pay for paid firmware upgrades if it allows you to keep one camera for ages?

@@PaulTakesPhotos as long as the price is reasonable, yes. BUT honestly, I just want the film sims. If they have the option to just choose to add film sims for a price, I'll be satisfied. Also, I forgot to include on my list -- BIGGER EVF similar to that of the XT3. 🙂🙂🙂 Btw, I have actually asked your advice if it's worth selling/trading my X-T3 for an X-T30ii just for the compact form factor and the Classic Neg film sim that can produce recipes emulating film developed prints from the 80s and 90s. But I've read from the forums about the XT30i/ii's issues: ***Rubber/leatherette peeling ***LCD malfunctioning ***Command dial irresponsivenes ***Top dial failure (Shooting in windy or dusty environments bringing sand/dust underneath them) ***Sensor failures ---These would be incurring after warranty expires or even under a year for some copies. ----So I may have to just retain my XT3 or consider the unappealing but appearingly more dependable XS10.

@@nathanielngosy well Nathan, I haven't experienced any of the above with the XT30ii. That said I do find the build quality overall of the XT2, 3 and 4 better. My xt20 lost the entire thumbgrip for instance. If you get the error "storing" it normally means you DR and Grain are too high. I do find the back and front and back dials on the XT30ii not the best in quality. That aside, for printing the XT3, XT4 are slightly better as the sensors have a different pixel density (at least I read it somewhere). As for the film sims, yeah Fujifilm is milking that one to the bone. Sadly. Overall I would be hesitant to let the XT3 go and replace it with an XT30ii for the simple reasons of build quality but also lens balancing. I shoot with the 90mm and the ergonomics of my XT2 and XT4 are far better suited for bigger lenses. Not sure where you are based but the XT30ii in North America is pretty much sold out. Hope this helps. I use my XT30ii pure as an street, travel and every day camera. Hope this helps you

@@PaulTakesPhotos Hi again. Thanks for your advice. Actually, if I could go compact, I would. Most of my lenses are Fujicrons -- 27/2.8ii, 35/2, 50/2. My biggest would be the 16/1.4 and I'm thinking of ridding it as well possibly for the 16/2.8 BUT the 24mm FF eqv. is one my favorite FLs plus the fact that it's my only f/1.4 lense. Since my X100v arrived with the Classic Neg sim, it was a game changer for me as it took me back to my teenaged nostalgic years AND because of the X100v, my XT3 had gotten lesser use. So I thought that maybe replacing it with something more compact (like the X-T30ii) with the Classic Neg film sim would motivate me to use my other body. But the problem with the XT30ii would ve the issues indicated which could be the reason why there are a few but moderate amount of stocks here in our country. Perhaps many know it's not that dependable even if it was handled gently already by certain users I read who had to have their XT30s repaired. I also would've intended to use the XT30ii as a street, travel, food and family documentary casual camera BUT I don't even plan to use it everyday. Still the risk of the XT30ii for so much headache over time just makes me hesitant to change from the XT3 to it. Even the unappealing XS10 is more reliable having not read any serious issues with it except for writing images on the SD Card when reaching a certain number it would become unreadable which was resolved through a FW update.

Well I owned the x100v and the camera didn't agree with me at all. Sold it off before the hype. That aside, the XS10 is fantastic value for money at the moment and I believe with firmware updates the writing issue is gone. I will have an episode on the lenses I use for street and travel photography coming up. Personally I would not easily part with the XT3. It is a workhorse and if you already have a camera with latest film Sims, I would easily spend additional money. Coming from a guy who shoots XT30ii, Leica Q and Ricoh GRiiix hahaha. Point being, my camera selection criteria is always, do I use it. If not (for longer periods) I would normally sell it on the used market. XT3 in good condition and box will easily fetch 800 euro here.
