    Admittedly, I am a full-frame Sony shooter with a number of bodies. I picked up the XT-30II to have something light to travel with and carry around town. When I looked at my first shots (through the VF and rear LCD) my reaction was "meh." After importing the card into LR my reaction changed to "holy shit!" Don't judge this little beast by the viewfinder and rear LCD. The number of film looks and styles that you can create is awesome. I find something else to love about this camera every time I pull it out of my bag.

    This camera has a 30 mins recording limit, needs an adapter for audio and has no in body stabilization and no side flipping LCD screen. I'd never advise this for videography. XS-10 & XT4 are superior in terms of video capabilities. XS-20, which has been released a few weeks ago is a good option. For the lens is say start with the 18-55mm f/2.8-f/4.0 or Sigma 18-55mm f/2

    Just ordered an xt30ii and the wr 27mm lens. I have an a7iii as well with lots of nice lenses but it's just too big and heavy most of the time. Want something small and light, inconspocious. Excited for the manual way of taking pictures, it's how I learned. Might even shoot jpeg with a film simulation, not even do all the RAW tinkering. You mentioned in your other video ("why you should buy the xt30ii") you still take your a7 with you a lot. Could you expand on why, where the a7 becomes the preffered choice over this fuji? Thanks for the great videos.

    Hi J C! Well the Sony A7III is my workshorse for two specific type of photography concerts & bands and birding (200-600mm). For concert & bands it is the lenses (85mm, 70-200 & 16-35 I use) combined with the A7 because of the low light capabilities, battery life , ergonomics, auto focus (continuous), buffering speed and weather/dust sealing. The music, bands and crowds are fast moving, messy and often low-light, Birding is fast shooting, AF is key. When it comes to everyday/street/travel it is fuji, ricoh and leica. Depending on my mood or preference :)

    I'm torn between this camera and the Sony A6400. The A6400 is a bit cheaper, but what really holds me back from buying the Sony is the lack of a future proof USB-C connection. I'm coming from a Canon T4i/650D which I even used for wedding- and funeral photography, but I mostly found it too bulky to take with me on trips. So now I'm looking for a more compact versatile camera for photographing trips and my children and video (24p). Any advice?

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    @PaulTakesPhotos

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Klaas, The A6400 is a great hybrid camera, feature packed and obviously.has two major benefits: continuous auto focus and Sony E lens mount which is had a very deep range of native and third party glass. The Fujifilm XT30ii has different benefits. The AF-C is good but lacks accuracy of the Sony a6400 in continuous shooting. It does however has better colour accuracy and skin tones. Sony a6400 like older Sony's suffer from a slight greenish skin tone and the highlights can crush at times. When it comes my experiences. I used the A6400 for videoshooting (mostly youtube talking heads) and it did.a.great job. I use the XT30ii purely for photography and it is wonderful shooting experience in terms of usability, image quality and ability to go unnoticed by others. Downside on the XT30ii is the 4k record limit, microphone jack requires additional adapter and the battery life for video on both A6400 and Fujifilm is mediocre. I found the XT-4 a better package for hybrid shooters. Better battery life, image Stabilization and great stills. Episode coming up on that one. Additionally the Fujifilm XS-10 is a great hybrid alternative. I love my Sony A7III for concert and sport events but that is much more bulkier, full frame and will cost way more and still has the green tone in the skin tones. Hope this is helpful if more questions let me know.

    I'd go for the XT30ii simply because it is more photography centric. Video limit is 10 mins with no overwrite. XS10 does have better grip, but is aimed at hybrid shooters. It is just my opinion. If you can rent either of the cameras i would suggest to do that first, before buying

    I'd say the differences are burst rate and webcam functionality. If you read at camera decision you'll find the full specs cameradecision.com/compare/Fujifilm-X-T30-II-vs-Fujifilm-X-T30

    Yes! Sensor type and processing engine have been updated as well as working memory. This results in way more extensive options of customizing the camera and improved autofocus.

    i like this XT-30II very much. However, it’s autofocus is such a disappointment to me. And after the recent firmware update, the whole camera became ill-functional.

    I find the autofocus in single excellent. In continuous it has greatly improved. I do have the latest frimware too, but really have no issues. What is the issue you are facing that renders the camera useless?
