    I have been shooting in India with this camera in 2 different situations. First one was in Mumbai during monsoon, with 30° to 35°C and around 80 to 90% of humidity. The second situation was in Delhi and Agra, very dry and dusty environment, lots of hot wind on a heat wave having max temp of 48°C. On none of those situations I had a problem with the camera. No battery, dust or hot issues with it. My teammate having the X-T1 was having issues with the temperature and the camera was shutting down by itself. But this XT30ii with the 18-55 and the 70-300 was working perfectly to me.

    I'm currently considering whether I should replace my Lumix S5 fullframe camera with the XT30. Simply because the XT30 is lighter to carry around. What would you recommend to do?

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    @PaulTakesPhotos

    2 ай бұрын

    Well switching systems is kinda of a big decision, not as much from a camera perspective but more from a lens perspective. You'd have to replace it. Ever considered a G9II? Additionally strong rumours about Lumix releasing a FF fixed lens camera soon to rival the Fujifilm x100 series. I'd wait for a while and rent a Fujifilm camera. See what your first impressions are

    Chiming in here as well. Replace is not the word you're looking for, but rather complement. I'd pick up the XT30 for fun and to have a small body with small lenses to take photos with, almost like an interchangable X100, but not to replace my fullframe camera. So yes, buy the XT30, but don't get rid of your Pana.

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    @PaulTakesPhotos

    If you want Fuji id say the xt4 or xT3 as those bodies are weather sealed and have identical AF specs. As for the lens... I dont shoot wildlife on Fuji but the 90mm (135mm ff) is a great lens. I only have one zoom lens (18-55mm) from Fuji

    So, it's probably not the best experience you can have shooting wildlife, but I actually shoot with the 70-300 on my xt30ii. I do a mix of landscape, nature, and wildlife and I'm regularly surprised by some of the photos I can get while on hikes. I'm still figuring out birding 😂

    I've seen this camera offered with 2 different kit lenses at different prices. BH Photo has it for $999 with the XC 15-45 OIS PZ kit lens. Best Buy has it listed at $12with the XF 18-55 kit lens. What are the biggest differences in those 2 lenses? I've never owned Fuji, so I'm not familiar with their cameras or lenses.

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    Hello Sir , I’m from West Bengal (India 🇮🇳).. very specifically the southern part of that state which indeed a Hot and Humid area. And in the next month (Monsoon season) I am planning for a 3 day trip to a Beach area with my Fujifilm XT30 ll with XC 15-45 kit lens and none of them are Weather sealed . Will the typical monsoon weather create a problem for me ? During this period of time the Humidity and rain will be on the higher side and I’m pretty much confused…. What should I do ??? Thank you for asking. I have never had any problems in the damp north western climate, but when it comes to monsoon it is a different experience. You can buy a protective rain case/sleeve which will reduce the risk significantly.

    Would you recommend the Fujifilm - X-T30 || with XF18-55mm Lens Kit or Fujifilm X-T50 with XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens Kit? the X-T30 is priced at $1299 and the X-T50 is priced at $1499

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    The choice here, aside from form factor, is whether you need to the XT5 40.2 mp sensor or you chose the 26.2mp sensor of the XT30II. When it comes to the lenses I believe the XF18-55mm is one of the best kit lenses ever made and paired with the Xtrans1-X4 trans sensor it renders excellent image quality. That said the XC lens is probably more suitable for the X trans 5 sensor. Difficult to recommend one as both are excellent cameras XT50 has all the latest and greatest, whilst the XT30ii is a bit older in terms of technology.

    Hey Paul, I am looking for an affordable, small camera with nice colors (no editing) to use on beaches (surfer holidays coming:) for photography only. I thought of the Fuji X M1, but I am concerned about dust and sand, but the size is nice. Any recommendations? It doesn't have to be Fuji, all brands are welcome. ;)

  • @PaulTakesPhotos

    Beaches and cameras are a difficult one :) sand, salt and dust. Difficult to suggest, but if I were to do beach photography I'd look at the Lumix G9-II light, weather sealed, great hybrid functionality, great colours on the jpeg and good continuous AF. Additionally Sony A7III or Sony A6000 series. Although those are not always weather sealed. For Fujifilm I'd recommend the XT3 with a WR lens(es) XT3 has some AF as XT4, weather sealing, Continuous AF is not as good as Sony, but you'll get the shots. Hope this helps

    XT30II simply because I don't really need a bigger sensor, nor do I really need AI features. I'd fancy the IBIS but that's it. In addition the price plays a part as well. I'd rather invest money in good Lenses than in the latest and greatest camera. Cameras come and go, lenses stay

    For any type of photography for enthusiasts excepting sports, wildlife and action any of the X-T 10,20 or 30 models are perfectly fine and do not need upgrading unless one has a need for IBIS. 16mp is plenty good enough and anything more offers very little in extra IQ you will actually be able to see without zooming right in. Of course the newer sensors will have a different "look" to the images which you may or may not prefer and offer different simulations, again which you may prefer or not. What is good about the X-T0 line up until now is that any accessories you may have are compatible from the X-T10 right through to the X-T30ii, unlike any of Fujifilms other camera lines. I was very excited about the possibility of the new X-T50 as the thought of IBIS is quite compelling and having held a X-T5 and not liking it, nor liking the X-S10 or 20 form factor, the X-T50 seemed to be a good solution - until I saw the projected price. Ridiculously expensive for a hobbyist camera, however good it may be. The price is far too high. I will stick with my X-T10 and X-T20 and get either an X-T4 used, or go for an OM-5 and a couple of small primes, for those occasions I need IBIS. Actually if you already have a OIS lens (I don't) it is very questionable if one needs IBIS in the camera.

    I do agree with a lot of your points. I bought the xs-20 months ago and still getting used to it. I bought to see what the AI would be like and to be honest I am not enjoying it that much. I love shooting with the XT30ii, my XT1 and recording video on the XT40 (which is a camera that is awesome for stills too) sadly my XT2 died. In essence the XT5x series is the new norm and one thing people dont really talk about is how does the older Fuji glass and the new 40mp combine?
