I would suggest using the camera in manual as much as possible. Back in the day when I shot with film, you had to choose one roll of film with a single ISO. Usually 400iso. So try putting the camera in 400iso and leave it there for your next shoot. Use the aperture and shutter speed to allow the right amount of light. This will be painful at times but really teaches you about aperture v shutter. Finally, take your camera with you everywhere and get shooting.

Thanks for the tips. Great as always. Just in case you are looking for ideas for content, I’d love to see a tutorial for us dad-home-video makers that deals with the ideal setup for run and gun. I like to keep the shutter speed on double the frame rate but then we get stepping when the light changes. What do you do? Do you use ND filters? Manual aperture? Manual ISO? Just an idea.

I accidentally found out that if you hold the joystick down for a few seconds you can lock it so that it wont more your focus point when it bumps into your hip or coat. When locked then in order for the focus point to move you just click the stick once first. It's been a lifesaver for me! (also, if you move the focus point and want to bring it back to the center again, just click the stick when the focus grid is up). My camera is an XT3, so it's likely available on the xt30, x100v, xpro3, and xt4 and maybe on the xt2, xpro2, and xh1.

Great video!
Fuji pairs well with vintage lenses. I always shoot RAW; you can always edit your image in camera by pressing the Q button on your selected image, from there you can apply film simulations, adjust contrast, eposure etc. Another great free editor for Fuji cameras is the Fujifilm X Raw studio (completely free) which actually uses your cameras image processor to do all the work. Capture one is a great editor also. I'd also like to mention that the Fuji X-A range cameras don't have the X-trans sensor so they play well in Light room (My wife has an X-A5). Just some info for people who might be interested.

Happened to my boyfriend once, it just wouldn't leave, he managed to get to around 1 meter close to it and then it flew away. He was creeping slowly step by step and the little bird was staring us right in the eyes. :D instagram.com/p/CIJDVvQhbLO/

Omar, thanks for another great video! Love your down-to-earth delivery style and the insights you provide are always super helpful! I broke into at least three big smiles during this one as recognition of my personal experiences with the X-T3 "came into focus"...
I`ve just bought fuji xt2 as my very first camera, and have totally felt in love with it! Thank you for all advice, great channel!
Omar, thank you again. I’ve had my Fuji for 18 months and this video has been a great help.
I’ve been using Fujifilm cameras for years now and I still find your videos interesting and informative. Always learn something new
Thanks for this intro video! As a longtime Canon user I just tripped into the world of Fuji with the X-T4 and just amazed in so many ways. So amazed, in fact, that I just added the X-E3 for shooting street and a fourth camera for weddings and such. Two Canon bodies and two Fuji, but having a hard time putting down the Fuji system so this video helped get me up and running a little faster. I also enjoy your quirky style so keep up the good work. I appreciate it.
Discovered your channel a few weeks ago, when I started looking for a replacement for my old Canon. Thanks to you and your amazing work on this channel, I am now the proud owner of a XT20 ;) Keep up the good work, love your channel!
I literally just bought my X-T20 12 hours ago! Very useful video. Learning a lot about the Fuji x series in this channel
Thank you Omar. This is all still relevant in 2020. We just got a Fujifilm X-T3 today and we can't wait to shoot some awesome images!
Hey Omar Thanks so much for the tips. I just switched from being a Canon user for years to the X-T3 and this video really helped me out.
Just switched to Fujifilm, your videos have been very, very helpful. It can be frustrating learning a new system and I went all in on Fuji so thank you!
Your videos always brighten my day. Thank you!
I'm new to amateur photography and also my XT20, you and your video's are my bible atm and you're making this little fella seem a lot less daunting, thanks' Omar!
I ordered my first Fuji camera, T-X3, just today. Switching from Canon as I wanted something new to get back to photography again after few not so active years. Main inspiration for my choice of Fuji was Omar and the entire Fuji community I have seen when scrolling through reviews last few days. Thanks for the great channel and information. I can’t wait to get my hands into my new toy!
Thank you for the tips! I just got my Xt4 last week and I've been using it with the Fringer and the Sigma 18-35. I'm actually really blown away from the results of not only video but photo too. My main camera is anFs7ii and I don't think I'm going to have any issues matching these 2 cameras.
“The problem: reaching for playback button triggers the eye sensor” happens to me a loooooot. This is a big help! Thanks.
I just use my left thumb to hit the playback. No sensor blocking issue. Also with touch screen, provided you shoot mainly with the evf, you can designate which portion of the lcd that is used to move the auto focus point/area. I tend to shoot using my right eye so my face isn’t on the camera and using either the right half or lower right corner of the lcd to rapidly change focal point. Super effective and convenient. I absolutely love fuji cameras and optics. I’ll pick up my x100v next Thursday and the xt4 whenever it’s released along with the awesome 18-55 kit lens along with the 90mm f/2. Perfecto!
I recently made the switch from Canon to Fuji and Omar has been my Bro-in-Chief during this exciting transition of my life. I love my X-Pro 3 and I’m just waiting for him to do a review/tutorial/anything so I can follow along all while being thoroughly entertained :).
coming from Nikon DSLR, have switched to X-T30 a week ago. Thanks for making awesome fuji videos!! You are the reason why I picked up the little giant.
Hi Omar thank you so much for posting these. I just got an XT20 and yours are some of the only/most informative videos out there. Keep posting!
Happy new year Omar and my tips on Fujifilm is enjoy manual mode. It’s because Fujifilm designs her cameras well. They have many dial on the camera such as shutter speed dial and ISO dial. Most of lenses has aperture ring. That’s great for manual mode and makes you flexible to make your images.
I've been a Fuji user for 5 years now and I never knew that Lightroom isn't the best photo editor for Fuji users... So glad I watched this. Subbed!
Thank You Omar, this was definitely one of the channels that convinced me to change from Canon after about 10 years. I watched 100s of vids and really investigated before switching because I loved my Canon (5Diii 6D 17-40, 50 1.4, 135f2). I spent less than 2,000 on used T2+56 1.2, T1 + 18mm 15 -45 (less than a Full Frame body). The new system and focal lengths has been super inspiring, although there was a bit of a learning curve. Now about 6 months in, I'm confident in the equipment and my ability to get the best out of it. I spend hours zooming in and marveling at the Fuji files hahahaha. People who know my work well have commented that my pictures still look like my pictures, which is what I was after, like I said, I was happy with Canon. But, can you imagine how much lighter my new camera bag is?... My tip for new fuji users is to learn how to customize the system to your needs, and just keep shooting, shoot whatever you have, you can't shoot what you wish you had. Then go study the files, what is working and what is not at diff't focal lengths and F stops, learn your equipment, don't blame it ..One problem I had switching to Fuji was camera shake, I never had that problem with the FF Canon. I really had to learn how to concentrate on keeping the smaller cameras steady (I bought myself a battery grip for the T2 for Christmas).. Overall, My experience is that the camera system doesn't matter.. Full Frame Canon or apsc Fuji my photos are recognizably my photos.. Thanks again Omar, I've really enjoyed your videos this past year. So keep up the good work in 2020. Happy Holidays

Happy holidays! So great that it all worked out for you. :) . Cheers!
Just bought Xt30 with 18-55 and 35mmf2, waiting for them next week, this video was the perfect one I needed. Very enjoy with your channel 👍
Just switched to Fuji for my KZread video recording (XT-200) your videos have been hugely helpful! Thanks Omar!
Nice video, just switched to fujifilm after using my Olympus e410, for the last 10 years. Managed to grab xt2 £400, and got 35mm f2 for £185. Great setup
THIS - right here - is just the best video for me coming from Canon to Fuji and struggling with the settings ! You are a star Omar, a huge thank you from me

Just what the doctor ordered Omar thanks for the tips, loving your style, I feel I can get so much more from my kit now
I love fuji. I learned so much watching this channel... Thanks
Thanks Omar for your always entertaining and informative videos. I love watching your videos and eagerly await new videos since I found your channel. On the topic of straps, I heartily agree with you. Nothing better than a convertible strap. I use the Joby Convertible Neck Strap on all my mirrorless camera bodies since I stumbled on it. I used to make/sew my own convertible straps for my DSLRs before I entered the mirrorless world and found the Joby convertible strap, which is perfect for my needs. It easily converts from long neck strap, into a short carry strap or wrist strap. I will never go back to the inflexible camera maker straps.
Just tried capture one trial after watching this. It's definitely superior. No doubt. Thank you sir.
Omar excelente video como siempre. Muy práctico para nuevos usuarios de Fuji y para los que tenemos ya algo de experiencia, también!
It was because of a video just like this that you convinced me to go from DSLR to a XT20 then an XT2. Thank you! Hope you and the fam are having a great day Omar 👍

Thanks, Omar. Very helpful, even for folks like me who are a couple of years into owning an XT-10.
Mine arrives tomorrow, I’m so excited!
Switched from a Sony A6300 to a x100v and fell in love with photography again. Such a easy and fun camera to use!
I'm new to Fuji and I'm loving it, your videos always help a lot 👍
i just got my own X-T10 today. this video really help and make me more excited.
Thank you for this cause I’m getting a xt4 next week and I’m coming from Nikon and this video helped me old big time!
I love your videos. I am consigned to home in the UK for 12 weeks due to my illness. I am new to Fuji as I have an X_T30 & X-T3 .Therefore maxing out on all your tips. You are a life saver.Be safe. John sykes
What a brilliant video. Full of fun, great tips and a terrific delivery style.
Thanks for your videos! I learn a bunch from you and I appreciate your humor! Thanks!
Omar I’ve come to love your videos thanks for all the help!
Thanks Omar! I got a used X-T20 a few weeks ago and have totally noticed the same things about accidentally moving the focal point and accidentally switching to EVF mode.
Thanks! I'm buying my first Camera ne t week. The XT3. This was super useful and I'll be watching more.
Love that photo at the end with the Garden in the background!
Just yesterday I complained about how hard it was to follow Omar in his “setting up my X-T3” video. So, helpfully, this video shows up in my KZread home page: Omar’s “training wheels for Fujifilm newbies.” I can’t wait to view it!
You're so sympathetic! So helpful. Thank you really much :]
Subscribed! I just bought my fuji XT20 a week ago, this is my first camera. I hope i can learn a lot of photography and fuji in your channel
I love this channel. Very informatif especially i'm new for Fujifilm X-T20. I'm getting used to it. Thanks.
Have just bought a nikon z6 and yet i am watching this video. Omar is best👍
finally switched to Fuji. Been wanting one since I started my music photography journey last year. Got the XT2 and very excited to use it on my future gigs!
I always crack up when you bump your gear around😂 4:15.Been watching your videos for a while now. Great stuff!
+tip: you can save different auto iso settings with the custom settings. For me the default is 1/125 for all 3 auto iso modes then in C2 I set it to aim for 1/250. This way it's super easy to switch and still use auto iso when I need it.

Great tip!
Yo bro, Omar! you, your Fujifilm and Fujifilm X-T20 videos are a gem even especially during this times. You're an aspiring professional and street photographer. It is because of your love for Fujifilm X-T20, you have inspired me to get a Fujifilm X-T20 at a promotional price. Originally a Canon user for slightly more than 10 years. So far i'm loving it the X-T20 eventhough the model is more than 3 years old and learning a lot from your videos. Do continue to motivate and inspire us especially with more street photography, Fujifilm and X-T20 videos. Maybe you can do a tutorial of how we can effectively clean and disinfect our DSLR or Fujifilm camera after an outing on street photography. Thanks a million!
Just got my my new Fuji X-S10 what a change from my Canon Rebel 5. There is so much on here!!! WOW!! It would be wonderful if there really was a manual for everything!! Wouldn't make it with out these KZread videos from you and others! Having fun learning and appreciate all these videos!!
Thank you so much Sir.... I just bought FUJIFILM XT30 II with XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ kit lens for streetphotography and for daily shooting purpose .
Absolutely fantastic video. Can’t wait to set mine up.
Interesting by the content and lightened by the friendly humour! I love your videos, Omar!
just got my first fujifilm X-T100. now i know why the focus point sometimes moved all the way to the right corner....thanks for some of the great tips!
Mieke was the first prime lens I bought. It was a 50mm f/2 for $99 I believe. So if anyone new wants a prime lens for cheap I recommend to try it. It is manual focus though.
My setup has evolved to this: I shoot manual everything. I use back button focus and have enabled focus assist w.focus peak (high) yellow. My front button is the level. The top button is the timer. My pad buttons are AF-C Custom settings AF Mode, Face-Eye Detection and Histogram. I have turned the swipes on the LCD off. The top line of My Menu is Drive Settings, then MF Assist, then Focus Check, then Shutter Type...By the way, I shoot RAW and use Lightroom to process the files and have had no issues, but I did use Capture One just to see the difference and it wasn't anything for me to switch from Lightroom to Capture One, but that's me.

I've been a Canon and Sony user for a long time now, and finally took the leap to the fujifilm system (X-T30). When my boyfriend asked me what I was most excited about with the Fujifilm system, I said "being able to watch Omar Gonzalez KZread videos for a reason" :D (true story lol)

Its been 3 months since you commented. What do you think of Fuji? I'm a Canon shooter but thinking about making the transition.
after going though 15+ channels and different "pros..." I think I found a guy who explains things that a novice like me can understand photography basics and wont be alienated too soon...thanks for these videos
Im moving from Nikon. I love your vids man they are so informative!
Just bought an X-T3. Some great tips here!
Great video very helpful for a 1st time Fugi user like myself! Keep up the great content.
This video was so so so helpful for me! Good job💛💛💛💛
Just brought a xt30. Thanks for video !
My tip is to become intuitive with your Fuji. Best example is knowing how many presses of the viewmode goes from “eye sensor” to “evf only” to “lcd only”. Knowing stuff like this going into a shooting situation keeps your attention on the subject and getting the shot.
Great video, as usual. Another topic I bet a lot of new users will ask about is the importing process. If they're used to just using their phones as their camera importing isn't something they even deal with so much. I had my X-T2 for 6 months before I figured out the built in Image Capture in OS X would import the camera images no problem. You don't always have to pull the SD cards out.

Thank you for your video, the tips are quite useful!!
Great video! Thanks Omar. Merry Xmas!🎅
Yay I've just got my x-t4 yesterday! 🙌
Bought my first Fuji camera today (XT-30). Can not wait to get out and about to shoot. Love the videos Omar! If anyone else has any tips for a new Fuji user, feel free to fire them to me!!

As always.....great fun to watch......!
Just got the Xt3 and I've been rocking with the xt20 for the last couple of years. Top tip I have: Grab some old manual focus film lenses and a cheap adapter, to start out with along with the kit lens. You can find really great stuff used and try out different focal lengths without spending a ton of money! Love the videos Omar! Always a huge help!

You're making nice video's, it's very usefull for me! Thanks!!
Thank you cannot wait to get my Fiji xt100
The video I’ve been waiting for!
I'm not new to the Fuji system, but the last Fuji I've used was the X100s which is quite antique compared to the X-T3 I just got, so thanks! 😊
Omar, thank you for the simple, Super presentation
I shoot paid jobs and have been shooting fuji for 4 years. And yet, here I am, watching. I think that's a big compliment
Hola Omar, I really enjoyed the video. Subed ! Hope you are doing well during these challenging times. Hope your time in NYC is going OK. I've never seen it like this! Together we will make it through. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed the tips. I also love Op/Tech, I highly recommend all the straps. Tips: OP/TECH dual camera straps when you really need two cameras at events. OP/TECH all single camera straps for single cameras. I tried using the double strap with one camera and had mixed results. FUJI X-T2 AUTO-FOCUS for those that did not upgrade yet. Make the single point two sizes larger to get fast and accurate focus. The small point and the second smallest seem to be for specific use cases. It will hunt for focus. The bigger box gives it more to analyze and will focus faster. Don't go to an event and leave it on the smallest one and then learn the hard way after!! I don't really know if they improved this in X-T3 or X-T4, sorry but I hope they did. Auto-Focus: There is so much customization here. Really play with it and learn the different modes to learn it. Hard to do on the spot when stuff is happening. The tip on saving your looks is BRILLIANT!! A MUST!!!!! Coming from Nikon and Canon, I was not used to it at all. Definitely had to play with that a bit to get the settings right. Software: Adobe - It's better but not the best in recent updates. Definitely an improvement. Unfortunately, still a lot of work to be done. Changing to DNG helps like you mentioned in the video, however, I had issues with DNG in software that was not Adobe, so I would only use DNG with Adobe. Luminar - I really wish I could recommend this software, however compared to lightroom I'm looking at a turtle walk instead of a chettah like Adobe. I do like the features, but not worth the time. Would need an uber powerful machine to keep up with that beast of software. On1 Photo RAW - Honestly, I paid for Adobe, Luminar, On1. If I was going with an alternative, I will choose On1. On1 hands down has been amazing alternative. Has worked so well, I've had some serious thoughts on major changes to my workflow. I have not decided to yet, however it's a big possibility. I hope you stay safe!!
I got the xt20 few weeks ago as my first kit into photography and your videos let me learn all the basic. You're like the Fuji dad Thanks Omar :)
So helpful, my first fuji is on its way
Got an XE3 just before Christmas. Got some nice images, but just ran the simulations without shooting raw. Think I'm gonna shoot both from now on.
Hello Omar. I must admit that I just bought a Fuji X-T20 because of you. Your nice videos with help to configure the equipment have not managed, however, to get me to navigate with ease through that intricate maze of menus. At the moment I hate my camera, most of the time I don't know why the toothed wheel no longer opens the diaphragm, when a few seconds ago it did. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes white ... hmm I guess I should read the user manual. Greetings from Spain.
first time i am watching your video, very nice thank you
Love this channel. Thank you
