Great video....but you all can save some headaches by not backing bleeder screw all the way out, it will bleed partially backed off.

How did I miss this one?? Great video and how to change the fuel primer assembly. I have a VW 1.6 Turbo Diesel in my Samurai and last Friday it stalled on the freeway while going to work. Luckily AAA was kind enough to tow it back to the DIY Willy shop for me. I also changed the fuel filter and oil while I was there. The engine started and I took it for a drive. It seemed to be ok but I'll let it take a break for a bit. Its getting old. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm so lucky that when it finally did fail that I was in the driveway! It had been loosing it's prime for a while and I escaped being stranded several times. I wanted to rebuild it but could not trust the quality of the material or the sizing of the o-rings in the kits. Putting it to the test now, flying monkey trail Utah coming soon😎 thanks for taking the time to watch!

If you get the fuel filter, housing O-ring kit that replaces all the O-rings in it from a reputable shop, like ZZDiesel, rip diesel, pure diesel power, any of these well-known shops, the O-rings will fit.

The best way that I found when first experiencing this problem was go to the primer pump and push on it and if there was no pressure there and it was really easy to pump and if you continue pumping and you felt the pressure build up that was a good indicator

Hey Owen! Thanks for the question, no issues so far and no leaks. This type of assembly can be found on Ebay and Amazon. Unfortunately the link that I used for the seller that had this unit is not up anymore. Check both eBay and Amazon research and verify your make, year and model vehicle to make sure that if you choose to get one that it is compatible and is an exact match. Thanks for checking it out😎

Search for your exact year make and model vehicle and you should find some that will be an exact fit for your specific vehicle.
