You are so buckhead you know? yes he did a several mistakes but, you should tell him not bully him. Like This: Brandon: 1. When you boarding you should Always use your mantis. 2. 13:59 you shall NOT let'em pass. There are two good choices there: 1. you get your shield operator to medbay. 2. airlock medbay BUT wait for them to breach the door instead of open it. 3. Manttis are not a good choce for weapons. And, in this scenario, you should whitdraw this dude, too dangerous let him there. 4.14:57 there you must close arilock and put o2 +plus3 and get the shield manttis to medbay, your interior is falling boy. 5. 14:45 you close sensors door there, why its open? 6. 14:46 Engi goes to Weapons!!!! 7. 15:08 close airlock, o2plus+3, manttis Block to medbay. Much to improve dude until you go normal.

Carol Carl Carol we are not bullying him; merely pointing out his mistakes For example, at minute 11:00, he left his crew on board the flagship when he milled it, and they died His teleported was fully charged, and was not hacked. He could have easily prevented their deaths. That is the result of blatant laziness and carelessness, and is not acceptable.

Yy I also noticed when he was firing at the flagship and I was like: Man, the ship is on low HP, you should have teleported your crew away and he didnt. And I was like: What? Man you just lost two lives. (But its true it also happened to me few times, so I know how much pain it is)

The absolute max efficiency with this would be to get a pre-igniter to skip the long ass first charge

As satisfying as it is to see twin vulcans tearing up ships, this was some of the worst playing I've ever seen. "Whoever controls the doors, controls space"

Twin Vulcans is kinda crap set-up. Good meme, but crap fighter. You get a ton of damage ~36 seconds into the fight, but you can't touch them until then though. A ship with 4 flak guns would win head to head because it can apply 12 shots every 10 seconds, and that rips past shields and applied damage to take ot systems.

@@seananderson5850 how many ships in the game actually have something like that though? most ships have a weapon setup that takes longer for a full volley so with cloaking you can buy a lot of time. obviously it's still not ideal but it's viable

@@seananderson5850 the flagship has a slower weapon loadout than most ships. The main thing to worry about is the missile weapon but im pretty sure you only have to get through that once before a vulcan is fully charged except maybe in phase 1 when theyre using cloaking. Like I said I agree faster weapons are better even if it means sacrificing power but the main reason i wouldnt use a vulcan would be because of other ships, not the flagship

@@seananderson5850 2 vulcanised with cloaking is one of the strongest loadouts to kill the flag. Before they've had the chance to deal any damage (ie the second volley of missiles) you can have them fully charged. After that it's gone in 30 seconds on a bad day.

You are a noob, and thus, you dont fuck know what you are talking about, PERIOD. This setup is not so strong. Why? The cooldown is hard time until you get plus +5 you are pretty vulnerable, if weaponry gets hit.. you lose at tempo reseting the timer without any cloak to help you, it can wreak you. The setup is ony 'doable tier', not strong. There are MANY setups way better than this.

I would disagree; since he has 2 Vulcans, he has 4 bars of power in the second Vulcan as a kind of buffer for the first one, so you could still do damage even if your weapons were hit. On the other hand, their dodge could mitigate this slightly, but you can't have everything. Even so, 2 Vulcans is extremely strong. I do wish that he had used his 4-crew teleporter more, though. The mantis ship is mainly reliant on boarding, and he virtually ignored that.

No really his setup is not so strong, one spark in weapons room is about losing half of the ofensive is far away of being extremely strong. And only one piece does not perform well enough. Plus, even more important, the cooldown allows at least one enemy volley: without cloak. Many setups perform better than this without relaying in any sorta of evation. And any long cooldown array with preigniter outclass this in every respect, period. The thing is that with this setup there is not even an efectvie way to use boarders. With boarding you should aim to deal damage to weapons and then pindown the damage with boarderss. This array is about timevoid nothing to do until it starts to actually 'do something', and then it wreaks hard, but by this moment better pull your boys back.

Speaking of op runs, whats your fav configuration? I was able to nab a birst laser mk 2 and two halberd beams. There wasn't a ship in the game that could protect against it with weapon pre igniter and fast reload. Lasers would get even the flagship down to 1 shield and then the halberd beams would both go after whichever system I'd want to disable first. I called it the cosmic cross chop, with a(n) (un)lucky room configuration and no shields the beams could do up to 20 damage per charge. Boarding party would either go after an isolated system to disable or engage an enemy then immediately Benny Hill around the enemy ship to deny them repairs.

Losing the boarding party hurt but what really got me was walking away from cloaking when you had the chance. Just ouch man.

Rebel Flagship hardly needs all his rockets, lasers and ions and those power surges. All he needs is 4 Vulcans and 5 Auto-Reloaders. Would he get that, and no puny Federation ship would have a chance

Seeing that you had the opportunity to buy mind control and refusing fills me with ungodly rage. You absolutely need it for the third phase of the final boss. Also, use the doors. You sent an engi to fight a dude who is literally standing in an airlock

Just gonna necro this to say you don't *need* mind control for the final phase. It's just very, very useful.

Why are people disliking? Firstly, the weapon that was shown in the title was shown correctly. Secondly, you are rating the video, not the skill level of the player. Sure, the player could be garbage, but if the video made you feel even remotely happy that deserves a like.

The brief explosion audio at the end there, perfect, really ties it all together

I always wondered how brutal 2 vulcans would be. I neve thought of teaming it up with 3 auto loaders.

tmw you have more firepower than the rebel flagship.

I just realized double vulcan is the perfect counter for Zoltan shields. When the vulcans are still heating up, they are too weak to pierce the regular shields anyway, so the Zoltan shields block attacks they don't need to.

Coming back to this game after 9 years, had no idea that defense drones could shoot down boarding drones until now

I don't know the odds of finding 2 Vulcans but they must be pretty low, I've found 2 Vulcans in like...20 hours of play haha incredibly fun video!

I've almost beat the game with that ship, but I lacked a way to fully whittle the super shield down fast enough, I could disable everything with my massive crew, but the damn power surges...

Are the dislikes really cause this guy is new at the game? Way to be ambassadors for the FTL community, y'all. 😑

Having this on a fed cruiser is also fun

Pre-igniter with the Vulcans isn't very good, since they're really fast at reloading anyways. For stuff that takes ages to load, THEN it's a godsend.

11.1s initial load isn't awful, but it's definitely on the slow end of weapons. Considering that the Vulcan's whole game is "starts slow then gets better", obviating the initial load is a great investment.

They can be, if you use cloaking it sometimes lets you get two volleys off before they can hit you without cloaking. Example: Both have a Burst Laser II, (12s cooldown) you fire 1.2s faster bc auto-reloader and you cloak under their shots. Then, 12s later, you fire a total of 2.4s faster, possibly taking out their weapons system before they can shoot their volley. There are many such instances where it helps. Although sometimes you should sell it if you have 2 other good augments, just to make space in case you find a third. It depends, as it does so often

How about with ftl pre igniter and double recharge

A weapon victory with Mantis B? Damn! Engi A, B and C need Vulcan luck, not that ship!

You can use cheat engine to change the amount of power going to a room, if you can manage to find four Vulcans you could use them all ;)

I was playing Captain's Edition Infinite Mode a while back, and got my ENTIRE SHIP fully upgraded with Zoltan Cruiser C Layout, with a maxed-out Beam Artillery, two high-damage Extended beam weapons, and two Quickdraw 2-damage ion weapons, and got all the way to the final sector, but was feeling tired IRL and decided to save and exit, and when I came back the next day, my fucking save file corrupted and was lost. I was ready to die honestly.

DarkWingDerpy It must have been because you bought the artillery room. I know that the game outright warns you that saving won't work if a ship other than the Federation Cruisers have the artillery system.

Suzduk0667 That've made sense if I didn't have the artillery fix patch installed, which I did, and it didn't cause those kinda crashes. Artillery-related crashes only CTD when you try to load a save without the artillery-crash fix patch installed, not the kinda save corruption I had. It didn't CTD upon loading, it just *wasn't there at all* when I went to play the game.

Ran this with only one reloaded though. Same ship too

Micahmunch I always try to get there early so I am able to jump away if my weapons or shields get hacked because that is auto lose if you don’t.
