Hell of a run. You beat Sylvan with 3 weapon power lmao

Defense drone 3 put in a lot of work destroying all of those boarding drones. It was the MVP.

It really was. Going up against Sylvan with a level 1 medbay and no medbots, it was entirely likely he'd be overwhelmed just by the boarders. If he had to deal with the full complement of drones on top of everything else, I don't know if he would have made it.

The Rift Waker fires faster than the game can actually handle, so it gradually queues up shots that haven't fired yet, and when you change targets, all the queued up shots have to fire first, so it takes a while to change (and that's also why it keeps firing once the enemy is destroyed)

yeah and the calculation time for the "queue" is the only reason it stops at a point

It actually makes me think of any way to reduce or remove this limit. As we can notice, there's a Defence III drone that shoots way faster then The Rift Waker, can this firerate be applied to weapons?

I love the worry about using 7 missiles when you had 87 just sitting there

Consider that he also had ammo fabricator ... which means those 80 missiles would have been 160 shots at least, even more since the kernel launcher has its own chance to not use ammo.

Looking at the weapon performance upgrade ... "But I want these missiles!" has 87 missiles plus ammo fabricator and a kernel weapon, effectively like 180 shots

28:17 actually lol'd from the asscrack joke but your reaction is quite simular to how I felt on beating him the first time and seeing all that loot. It is so very satisfying. Awesome job its very satisfying to watch :D

The rift waker firing even after the flagship warped away was way too funny to me, great video and great run dude!

Ah yes, the flying memeship. Could literally lose the run instantly due to some random event.

You better remember all your events, give the wrong answer.... and the run is over. But hey, the run will be insanely quick since you'll instantly delete every ship you come across.

@@povilzem Once you have your own shields, you can use the ancient equalizer augment to delete all shields for both you and them. Every enemy has 0 shields. Not counting zoltan shields.

Also should probably just instantly cloak. And carry a couple lasers in case of zoltan bullshit. Pre-igniter is pretty sweet...

I'll be honest, I did not believe at the end of last episode, but you pulled it off man, great job! Never been more happy to be wrong

15:53 oh he does. And he can get overtaken literally before you make a single jump if you're really unlucky. Or he can place himself infront of the flagship and get deleted by that. Also the deal with the Rift Waker is that it's animation time is longer than its charge time after it's wound up. Not sure on the exact timings, but imagine it issuing a fire command 10 times a second, but the animation can only fire 5 a second. If you leave it running for 5 seconds, it's already queued up another 25 shots. And it will keep firing after no longer having a target until all those are shot. It does also keep firing, and it can totally kill enemy ships, while they're cloaked. It's a very fun weapon to play around with. Also well done, that was a good fight. Defense Drone 3 is really, really good against the triple boarding drones he sends your way.

You should do a run where you try to kill Sylvan in sector 1, so that you can get the rift waller in sector 1

@@thaerosthedragon1930 I know that ship, that's basically the last thing you'll ever unlock because it requires at least every Type A cruiser in the game and Type C's of most cruisers. And yeah, it's beyond nuts.

The Merchant is such a beast of an enemy. I am impressed you beat him.

The time is finally upon us. Let us see how well this goes.

A swift missile in the MC room would have probably made things smoother, but hey, a win's a win :D

I lost with Sylvan C because I encounter a crystal ship and extremely shreded his ship and the little crystals that the shot back when hurt got through my cloaking and my shield. All 3 crystal shots got past my 85% dodge chance

Sylvan C + zoltan could be actualy possible. Damn brutal on any mistakes, and but possible

I believe if you depower it then repower it it should stop shooting

Gotta be honest, I thought you were toast. And Sylvan was toast... just not the one I thought. Well fucking played man.

The joke with Sylvan C is sans from Undertale, if you did not get that

I didn't think Sector 7 was going to give you the things you needed, but you really lucked out there. But, yeah, you actually fucking did it, I'm definitely impressed. The hack went into the doors, so that's really...somewhat good...at least as long as you got rid of the first wave of boarders, the door hack does become pointless (Obviously Sylvan will hack at least something, it's a good thing it wasn't in a important system). Obviously the Defense 3 was the major player in beating Sylvan since I already knew it'll shoot down every boarding drone, despite being 3 at a time...though it being shot down once was super surprising, what are the chances...? But yeah the fact that you didn't unlock Sylvan C due to a glitch with the patch is the worst... Other than forcibly unlocking through commands, you would have to do it again...

Sylvan is the ultimate anti sylvan boarder, you can just beam in with teleport and blast the weapon system from the inside just need a strong crew

Or brood set whit clonebay lv4 andteleport lv4. And since you are there and you got brood, why not board the whole ship at once?

before defeating the merchant - 46 fuel, 75 missles, 11 drones, 72 scrap after - 58 fuel, 93 missles, 16 drones, 1069 scrap and a lot of equipment. i think it was worth it.

How did ya get 4 layer shields for Sylvan's ship?

I have to ask, have you ever tried your hand at doing a run where you do no combat pausing at all as a challenge? There was a KZreadr I used to watch years and years ago who did those runs exclusively, I don't recall if he ever managed to beat flagship, but he did get to it on several occasions, I believe he did it on Hard, but if you did try it out what difficulty you did wouldn't really matter in my opinion, I just feel it would be neat to see given how much most players over-rely on combat pausing.

Getting a save game from someone who unlocked all ships would be the easiest way, but the fun is the grind to unlock them all!

You'd expect with hacked doors the enemy can just open all your doors during the hack?

Is there a way to edit saves files or whatever to unlock all the ships? Also i hope you try that ship at least once.

Imagine Rift waker and the debugger. (which as far as I know only comes on the Cheat Code Which has a preignighter.

@@joecarley9902 the one you're talking about is the proto-preigniter. It only reduces weapon cooldown and it's one of the gatling gun parts so you'll lose it when you assemble the gatling

@@joecarley9902 as far as i know, the only way you can obtain the real weapon pre-igniter in a run is if sylvan gives you a quest. You'll get boarded by atomizer drones but will give you the pre-igniter

True, but he was power-starved. Swapping a Zoltan or two for humans or flowers could've helped him use it

I read this on the wiki and it was so unexpected that my o2 got shut down for a good minute. Then I screamed SANS until I ran out of breath again. But finding out while actually playing must be quite the ride.
