The T-50, also known as the Su-57, is the most modern, but also the most classified Russian 5th generation airplane. Any information about it that gets in the hands of the media is an event, if not a sensation. The viewers of Combat Approved will see one of these very events. We’ll dedicate 3 whole episodes to this amazing fighter. And these are not just films about a plane: this is the first encyclopedia about PAK FA - prospective aeronautical complex of front-line air forces - in the history of TV. To create it, the journalists spent 2 years. During that, Combat Approved has visited all the plants and Design Bureaus that take part in development of the Su-57: from Moscow and Saint Petersburg to Komsomolsk-on-Amur. For the first time, they’ve shown the journalists how they apply the stealth coating, how the composite polymer material looks like, which they make the plane of, and how they test this material. In addition: for the first time in history, they gave the journalists the right to install the cameras right into the hull of the Su-57. That means that the viewers of Combat Approved will see truly spectacular footage of the new fighter’s flight, including the one in the most extreme modes.

@@timm7796 stealth mode have some disadvantages and some weak points too Stealth mode only valuable when u are sneaking to the enemy territory F35 isn't so much capable in dog fights compare to the Russian fighter

He came up with the maths behind the basic idea of using shape to reflect radar waves away from the radar source. That makes him a clever guy for sure. Robert Heinlein used the idea to radar mask a speed boat in his book Between Planets, which was published in 1951. I think that makes him a pretty smart guy too. Making it work properly took a supercomputer and the invention of specialised materials and coatings.

I imagine it tells them quite a lot, but nothing they don't already know. The scene of the guy walking on the aircraft skin and the close up of the camera mounting suggests plain Aluminium skin without any RAM coating or other Stealth properties to me.

@@christianarboleda7872 Christian. I wrote a long reply, but youtube refreshed and it was lost. The main point is that Russia may indeed had different technology. However, the basic physicals and materials science of reflecting and absorbing radar waves (in directions other than back to the source) will be the same for everyone. Radar absorbing materials may possibly have a wider range of options than the physics that govern stealthy shaping. However, the US has spent more time and more research money than anyone else, so its likely they'll retain a technology advantage. There are other options such as EW/ECCM measures that may allow much the same result to be achieved. The swedish made systems on the griffen are supposed to be very good. But remember, stealth aircraft also have such systems at least for defensive purposes built in. The advantage of advanced digital technology is that these systems get smaller, lighter and more effective. This is an area where both China and Russia lag behind the US and will continue to do so.

The rigidity of composite materials in the new generation of fighters is what is the most impressive leap forward. They both reduce the dimensions of the plane, make it lighter, structurally stronger, improve it's power to weight, and so on. This "force multiplier" allows the fighter to improve in all relevant areas of maneuverability.

@@penskepc2374 are you serious about this? add here the range of onboard weapons up to several hundred kilometers. It is there that the Su35 is shot down by old Ukrainian planes. They simply surpass them in radar range and missile range. You don't even need to get close to the front line, much less fly into the range of long-range air defense

The Su-57 may not pass for a great looker like the F-22 is. Still, they are on a roll to greater heights when it comes to wave after wave of ongoing improvements like AI. These guys found the best cost-savings approach imaginable in making fighter planes by far.

You know many Western Military analysts discount Russian equipment, however some of us are far wiser than the paper pushing pilots we have over here. Russian kit is solid, reliable, supports in theater maintenance and can take off from "unclean" airfields. And let's not forget that amazing!! According to US marketing the F-35, was based upon Lockheed's acquisition of 4 Yak 141's from ailing RUSSIAN Aircraft manufacturer Yakovlev.

was it even worth developing such an unsuccessful design as the F35? From the point of view of sales, it is probably successful. But as a combat aircraft, this is a mediocre solution. Speed, range, set of weapons, complexity of maintenance and service life.

It's one hell of a cool looking bird. It definitely has better engines and some design features that western counterparts lack. The F22 probably has better engine heat shields, but it lacks 3D thrust vectoring, though I'm sure Su57 can severely decrease it'a IR signature. It also has ways to blind incoming IR seeking missiles.

Buddy for real i love your videos . all facts. Everything. Explained with freakin. Passion lol BUTC i hate to tell u that its a 4.5 gen plane not 5th i looked it up. Made to take on f35 n f22 raptor which is just crazyyy . iike this better but the way u say it makes it seem like Americ an planes aint shit compared to this which bussy is false .. F35 can compete willl be fair.

@@s_p_e_e_d_y.8507 , Frankly speaking, the F-35 cannot compete even with the F-16 in many military tasks and by aerodynamical characteristics and by maximum payload. This is why USA started the massive upgrade program for the F-16SE 'Silent Eagle'.

@@maksimluzin1121 they started ds f16 x cause alot of dif countries have it an also causde its times coming up so now thyll continiue using it n alias n stuff will continue buying upgraded ones instead of f15 going to bone yard... but f35 it didnt come out as expected and it wasnt made for dog fights like raptor was or the 57 but f35 for keeping diostance seeing enemy b4 they c it and killing it from a distance..."STEALTH" WITCH IT WILL C THE 57 WAY SOONER BUT IF DOESNT GET A "SPLASH" THEN YA GAME OVER LIKLY FO F35../ NOT ITS JOB.. Did everybody notice that Su-30 was also at the same alt. during the low level flight?
Whatever “generation “ the plane was configured, the true test lies on performance during actual air to air combat which none of the current fighters have had first hand experience to include this Russian SU 57, F22, F35, euro fighter, French Rafale or Chinese J20. Missile and stealth technology also will play an important combat role.

@Jozef Málik What I mean is the Super Hornet has lots of experience. We're most jets don't including alot of Russian jets too. I guess alot of Russian jets get shot out of the sky in Ukraine.
I'd like to see it up against the Su-27, Su-35 and latest Mig-29 in various intercept and dogfight scenarios (including clean and full loads). I'd also like to see if it has any kind of stealth capabilities and actual aircraft tracking ranges in all weather conditions. Basically, a Russian Top Gun scenario.

Haha, it’s not 5th generation and I doubt it will be. Russia has kind of been notorious not to be very technologically advanced, so I doubt that they will ever make a 5th-generation Su-57. The current prototypes are 4th Advanced, or 4.5 generation because of their engines and hull. Why do you think Russia built so little and why they’re trying to sell them fast? The Felon uses engines from a 4th generation aircraft but I don’t remember which one. If the Su-57 really was fifth-generation, Russia wouldn’t be selling it and making so little of them. The Su-57 shouldn’t even have been created because if Russia isn’t producing more then that means that they either don’t possess the current technology required for fifth-generation or their budget, which are two factors that limit the Su-57. Basically, the F-14 Tomcat had more of a chance than you think. It surprises me people refer to it as fifth-gen and I explain this to many people..

@@michaelanderson9140 Никто не запрещает тебе верить, в то, что F-22 самый незаметный и лучший в мире, но не удивляйся, если над тобой будут смеяться. Незаметность F-22 это пока просто очередной миф, а в остальном он точно проигрывает Су-57. Невидимки США не такие и невидимые, их даже старым зенитно-ракетным комплексом времён СССР сбивали в небе бывшей советской республики. Самое глупое, что ты можешь сделать - это недооценивать противника.
