Phil, we have similar but different stories. I've been to prison. I had 2 sets of serious charges within a 10mnth period in 2013. I served 2yrs. When I came out the parole officer said "Get a Job"... Well, as we know an ex-con isnt getting hired easily. So I made the decision to go back to school - took electronics engineering. I worked hard to get where I am now. Like you, I am self-employed running a full-time repair shop where I stay overly busy with work. I have a family and anyone who I share my story with - doesnt believe me. People can change, and we have plenty of time to do something positive.

Phil, thanks for sharing your story. You’ve certainly had your ups and downs but thankfully you pulled it together and focused on improving your life. You could so easily have just accepted your fate and continued your routine of petty crime and prison stints. Surviving that crash and your passengers coming out relatively unscathed is incredibly lucky! You clearly have a guardian angel (I’m not religious), the universe wanted to give you another chance and a wake up call! I’ve seen your channel grow over the last couple of years and watched you become a very competent engineer, your diagnostic skills are excellent and I know you are a valuable resource for Joey. Keep up the good work, look after your family and go see an osteopath about your neck!!

Cheers Shaun, I appreciate that! We all have our demons I guess but to know I've come through the tough spots and seeing how many people have my back on here is pretty amazing to me. It just goes to show that not every criminal is "always" a criminal :) I do restart physio in a few weeks because my neck is getting worse (and the headaches too) but I'm not sure how much it'll help. Luckily the NHS are paying for it this time lol

I've watched you for a while, mostly because I'm so intrigued at how you do what you do and work out the issues with the tech you fix etc, I couldn't do it purely because I have no understanding but watching you keeps me interested. I have to be honest I have judged you by your appearance but the more I watched you that didn't matter anymore, I didn't know about your past either and to be fair did come as a shock, however, with that said your honestly and openness is inspirational and I'm glad you straightened up and now do what you do, keep on the path and make the right turn on the crossroad mate, no point going back to that and concentrate on what you're doing now, you do it well and you are an inspiration to some so keep that in mind

Happens bud, it's our society, the way things happen around us and not everyone getting the same opportunities etc., leads us to do all sorts, but you have learned your stuff and are on a much better path now. Personally I have been up and down quite a few times due to hurt/pain etc., and then one min I'm doing ok at college, next min my life is turned upside down again, only to scrape bk then go to University as an adult, then for things to go bad again due to life, then having to scrape to get things better again, so yeah completely understand where you are coming from. The hardest part is to not let the stress get to you and to break, if you can keep the head, you will keep growing as a person. All the best, thanks for sharing bud. ✌🏽

Whats awesome about your past is how freaking awesome you have been in the future. I followed tronics over the past year, and i seen the video where he was going to send a ps4 board to a fellow youtuber and clicked the video and now i found your channel. What you do with these consoles and other electronics is very impressive. What is also amazing is where you were a bad egg, but i think the drive you have to fix things and be the best reminds me of myself. Therefore, i am pleased to unofficially meet you. Keep your head up, man. Life is tough. You got this.

We have different stories, I was paid very well to provide services that meant I travelled and removed problems for wealthy clients. I was haunted by things I had done. I lost all and almost my life in the end. I have retained my skill set to repair electronics. Money is not $200k per job, but I can sleep knowing I am adding to the world. Good work turning it around Phil.

Ultimately there's only one person responsible for what you do and the choices you make, which is yourself. I had a rough youth, and had to take care of myself from a very young age as well. My dad died young and I had a drinking mother as you had, she died a couple of years ago, but I never saw her again after I was around 15 or so (57 now). Fortunally I realised that, before getting in big trouble, that I was walking a downhill road in time and decided to turn it all around. Long story that I am not going to bother you with, but I ended up with, yes, an electronics repair shop, a lovely wife and three wonderfull daughters who are doing great and I am very proud of. All that said, respect for sharing your story mate, I know it's not an easy thing to do. Keep on the right road no matter what, if you believe in yourself and with the support of your loved ones there's always a path leading in a positive direction if you just set your mind to it. Greetings from The Netherlands.
