Now I'm kind of embarrassed that I only do 20 Lan Na Zha spear drills. I am loving the Dragon Spirit podcast. It puts more context on why such practices in traditional martial arts is being done and its importance. You don't really get much of these kind discussions from other masters in my experience. Then again that depends on their specialty.

These podcasts provides cultural/philosophical context to martial arts. What you see may not be what it is. That's the point.

This Chinese concept of being adaptable like water, I think would also explain a point of view about whether to tell lies. Second point, I think everyone's mind is something that they fill with beliefs. And, in doing so, they then take a form. These forms harden and we hold onto them as what people believe is reality. To use the adage: These are the maps, but not the actual terrain. So, we have reality and we have all kinds of people who believe in their map of reality. Just my observation of society.

Very good, laoshi. I do agree with you on that topic. It's very difficult not to go to practice taolus by the beauty and coolness aspect of them, though. Patience is the key. Hehe. Well, I'd like to ask you if you could go more deeply on bajiquan itself like talking about the style: "Does bajiquan have qi na? Do someone strike somebody with that almost open fist we can see on the main posture os bajiquan? If so, will you share the methods for hand conditioning? " thanks.
