Today, Justin is in the chair and he wanted to switch up his hairstyle from a 90's style middle part to a 2023 style modern faux hawk with a burst fade! Dan explained this haircut was not a mullet and similar to the early 2000's style faux hawks.

Love when a barber listens to the customer.
This young man has beautiful hair. He came to the right man to give him a beautiful cut!!🔥🔥🔥This is for you Dan 💰💰💰You apply your talent in the most beautiful way. Man that is a sexy cut Dan!! BRAVO SIR DAN
Awesome cut! You gave exactly what he wanted and he is happy.
The styling is perfection
That came out super cool! I think the look suits him so much, I hope he watches this video back to see our perspective because you need to see it from away from the mirror to appreciate the sides and back. Such a nice tailored look for him, better to be unique than look like these other kids out there!
How you styled his hair is Everything!!! Amazingggg👏👏👏
Looks terrific!👍🏼👍🏼 I can’t wait for Dan’s reveal on his longer look.
I had a guy on the east coast (USA) that cut my hair for many years. He was like you, I'd say a hair architect. He was an expert with a scissors, but not a barber, he was a salon guy!
Damn dude, just found your channel and watched a few old ones. Whatever you’re doing for your health is working. You look great
Really interesting how Dan talks about cutting where most barbers use clippers. Such a talent Dan is ... amazing.
Basically barbershops for fades and salons for comb and scissors work. Dan can do both he's highly skilled and knowledgable.
I am a US hairstylist watching your videos to help get better with my clippers and men's styling. I used to be terrified anytime someone with Asain or Hispanic hair sat in my chair bc that thick, straight hair shows everything! Its the hardest to blend. I'm a lot more comfortable with it now. Dan is truly remarkable at his craft. I wonder what the standards are for training in the UK? I know there were some barbers that i went to school with that shouldn't have passed but are out there screwing up people's hair to this day 😂 I am still new to hair but have probably watched 75% of the KZread videos by other professionals and I try to learn as much as I can. Thanks Dan for sharing your skills and talent.
Tell ya what hes the best barber ive ever seen. Hes first class.
I’m currently training to be a barber and your videos are so helpful 😊. This haircut looks awesome too and really suits him.

Dan plz post more videos. I love watching before bed 😅
Turned out pretty cool. Just from reading the comments, i thought it was going to be bad. But he said it was the best cut he's ever had. He went from the BTS hair cut to a slick anime character. Well done
Did enjoy this video. Thank you Dan.❤
The tussled top is a bit wild and the whole look is fun and cool. I really like it.
I can’t get over the knowledge of hair that these young men have
Looks good! Much love from the states. I've been following you for a long time and I cut both my hair and my dad's now from how much I've learned here!
As an aspiring US barber, I love doing longer hair, and the versatility of scissor cuts.
That looked really nice, good job Dan 👏
Dan always sells his haircut at the end. What a masterful haircut. I think it will look even better after a week or so, and even a month. Bet the customer was a majorly cutie when he was a baby. Handsome face!!
This hairdresser is so awesome
I'm adding that wave creating blow-drying technique into my arsenal!
Dan took it personally when American barbers say uk barbers can’t fade. Guy has crispyyyyh fades

This is an amazing haircut! I learned also the techniques for how you cut the top and fringe. I am absolutely blown away by your styling, client looks so good!!
Always a good watch
Dan, awesome cut!!
He went from 90's to modern 80's/early 2000's. Very nice.
Perfect 👏👏👏
Super - super haircut !!!
I didn’t think I would like this one, but I totally did! Is this one going to be hard to maintain as it grows out?
Looks way better 🔥🔥
We use clippers a lot but do get plenty of shear cuts too
I like the effort and intention to make it better, and most of the time you do great job. But this one, the before was much better than the after haircut.
Litterally holding back his tears😭
I hate doing those low skin fades with long hair on top.. Amazing work Dan as always..
First off, I am a huge fan of Dan and the channel. But unless you work with straight asian hair on a daily basis, it is without a doubt one of the most challenging hair types to cut if you get an asian client once in a blue moon. I would say that the end result does not look at all like Justin's reference at 1:12. Top needs to be much longer and would benefit from a short perm in order to get that texture on the fringe. I know korean and japanese hairstylists in LA and Hawaii that can pull this off, but unfortunately this one is a miss. I've seen previous asian hair cuts from Dan on the channel, and will say he has done the best attempts as a non asian hair stylist that i've ever seen and that is worth applauding. But there is still something off about how the fade is connected to to the top, as well as the overly chunky texturizing that just does not work for asian hair. Dan is amazing at what he does, but you need to look elsewhere to get the result you want.

Wow! Dan went further and shows us what he can do and maximum use his talent to do what his client wanted to do.... even though it's not my taste or style. Much props to Dan for an excellent job.
what is that powder you use at the end ? :)
Hi Dan, how long did this haircut take you to do?
What is the comb-like thing in Dan’s hair? I like it.

5:17 I had to do this as well. I didnt say mullet. But I said "flat top" because the stylists/barbers were cutting my length on top of my head and leaving the bangs making it way way too unbalanced. So knowing terminology can help to get what you want

Замечательная прическа получилась!
This Barber can cut any hair. You are the best I’ve seen. I’m an lady but I’d love you to cut my hair. Lol
Asian guys have the thickest, most beautiful black hair. I'm sooo jealous. In fact, I liked his haircut before & after equally well.
Very very cool
I always enjoy Dan's interaction with the client. He works really hard to give the client something that will please them. In this case, it seems the client doesn't really know what he want or what really works for his face. I don't like the final look at all. I would like to see what Dan would have come up with if he had been given free reign. I'm sure it would have been much better.
Dan, I like your scissor sound, can you do some ASMR (like compilation)?

We’ll see what we can do!
This is the type of haircut barbers will have photos of in their window but you never actually see someone walk out with it.
Its clear that you don't focus much on fades. And is not a bad thing. Sure a perfect Fade will look stuning....for 2 days. I think is more important to give them a good shape. If the fade 2-3 shadows or some really discret line its whatever. These are only seem mostly by other barbers.
I would've suggested the client to get a wavy perm ( wavy perm +middle part curtain bangs is very popular for guys here in Tokyo, Japan). The client would have an easier time styling it.
Uve very unique way to cut hair
Brb..saving some money so I can move to wherever Dan is based out of so he can be my barber. 😭
its always going to be a struggle for him to have any volume like the guys in his reference pictures without a ton of product .... those K-pop guys spend an hour with a hairdresser before any photos are taken.

Longer hair suits his face shape a bit more... the moment at 10:00 here looks neat and stylish, I think this kinda hairstyle suits him the best imo.
Great work..shame he didn't look happy but maybe that's him
Your fades might not be on the level of some other barbers but the rest of the skill you show with both scissors and clippers are incredible and by far out weigh having a slightly less ‘blurry’ fade
@vtpnoy

Was just going to say, this isn't the tightest burst fade I've seen, needed a half guard to blend that line a little more.
dont think it suits him a whole lot but you smashed it, woulda shaped the V in the neckline and you got a 10/10 tiktok haircut
haircut before suited his headshape better but the cut itself is very good!
Bit of a know it all this one. Just sit and listen to Dan!
I was so ready not to like this at all…but surprisingly, I do! Great job!
If he liked the haircut he should have told his face!
Очень симпатично получилось 👍

This is almost the exact haircut I want but no barber can get it right... They always mess it up. I'm thinking booking a flight to London, because you are the only barber who could nail it haha.

Hell nah
Brooklyn has Barbershops that can use shears, Queens has a few. In Queens since it's so built up around ethnic lines, you tend to get shops that cater according to each's culture, most of their clients are going to be of the same, or at least relatable to the Barbershop's barbers, and the shops are doing a lot of short back and sides. So it's not that barbers there can't use shears, they prefer clippers. I will say, this, Barbers in the U.S. invest more in clippers than shears. Brooklyn has a lot of hipster neighborhoods, the barbers have to be well trained to meet demand, and stay in the came, there is a lot of competition!
His client is very specific.
A lot of background noise with the other barber there using hair dryers and clippers.. the videos are way more enjoyable if you're alone while recording. Great to see the studio rolling though

So basically it's a ruined French crop by him asking to leave in a mini mullet(yes it's a mullet even if it's a modified one). He should have just had Dan taper the haircut all the way around but it's 2023 and people are into taking inspiration from Tiger King. Most of the hair cut is great though.

How is it a mullet if the back is shorter than the front?
@telford2155
8 ай бұрын
@@Sdfghjk442 he literally said it was a modified mullet indicating it is not a traditional mullet. the back is longer than the sides which gives mullet vibes(see how that rhymed)? this is all part of the logan paul mullet/tiger king 80s mullet trend going on. leaving the back longer than the taper sides still gives that mullet illusion.
