Honestly, I liked his hair long, and wouldn't have done a thing. He is a good looking kid, and the long hair suited him, but it's his hair, so go for it if it makes you happy.

He really doesn't look too thrilled. All he needed was a good shampoo, conditioner, and a clean up of his existing cut, because the shape was great for his bone structure. Reminds me a a very young Clint Eastwood. Handsome guy!

Many commenters are complaining that this man is not REALLY losing his hair. He is in the early stages of losing his hair and started using hair loss products to mitigate the problem. Should everyone wait until much of their hair is gone before using medicated shampoos and getting the proper haircut?

This great haircut accomplishes two things: it helps to cover the minor receding hairline and to uncover a nice forehead on a beautiful face. The look is natural, effortless and elegant. Great job!

His hair was great before. He just needed a trim and tidy up. Maybe a few layers going in. He certainly shouldn't be worrying about his hairline.

I’m an ex hairdresser and i find it therapy! Dan should be running a barber college with his skills & his ability to teach! I starred in 1986 in the UK & I STILL learn SO much from him even after all these years! Have not seen him do a bad haircut yet! 😊

Me too. I find it awesome that even though Dan has been in the industry for years he's still paassionate about giving the client what they want but advising them of other options which may be more suitable for their hair and face shape that they perhaps weren't even aware of. A rare talent.

This hairdresser is just a genius. He just knows exactly what he's doing. Good job & chapeau!

Very clean and meticulous haircut. He was smart to start the medicine treatment at 19. He has enough hair on top to fall forward and cover the receding areas. I think he use the paste stuff in his hair. Handsome young man.

@@marvin2678 Minoxidil - grows hair Finasteride- stops thinning There is a code on here for Manual they do all treatments but I know (ex hairdresser & nurse) these two meds work and are reccomended by this channel too! 😊

I think he wanted the fringe to fall longer and cover more of his forehead, but I’m sure it will look great in several weeks.

Yes, that front looks "floppy". A part slightly to one side and a couple of locks over the forehead would have been better.

That is a great haircut on this young man and he has so many options how he can style it. The kid has a super nice head of hair, hair color, a really nice shaped head and a lovely face. This haircut does minimize, his self professed, high forehead, especially when some strands on the top will eventually spill over his forehead, as he becomes active. Like the barber said, the haircut he came in with, (that had grown out and was a bit shaggy),:suits him and he wouldn’t drastically change it, he’d just shape it up a bit better and tighten up the sides. This barber hit the mark every time! Bravo!

Not sure this one should even be part of this series .... he has a very good head of hair it seems to just be a mature hairline. Good trim as always by Dan.

I thought his hair looked good to begin with but a definite improvement - it looks so much thicker now and no hint of a receding hairline x very smart!

Completely off topic, but after binge watching these video's its really noticeable how much weight Dan has lost since the beginning. He's looking all the better for it.

I think he looked best right in between the cutting and the styling, when his hair was still damp. There was no need for the products IMO.

After watching videos I'm convinced that you're more than talented, you're an artist, incredibly gifted at spotting, envisioning changes that will spotlight a person's good looks. But wait!! Looking back to videos from maybe a year ago, you've changed yourself from being a nice, good looking "Everyman" to being a drop-dead gorgeous human being who takes the breath away. Some fans of yours have mentioned that you're slimmer, but it goes way beyond that. You've applied your gift to turn yourself into a different human being. I'm awed. I blush to say not only by your talents but also by you, in the mirror. I'm guessing you don't remake females, even if they fly from continental Europe to meet you and even have a sad story for what happened to them. Alas: Let your videos inspire me.

Nice clean cut which will look better as each week passes. Handsome young man and smart too, great decision to start Minoxidil at 19.

Fascinating to watch somebody who actually knows how to cut hair AND match the haircut to the person's face and head shape - AND hair type. Incredible combination - from someone who's had some of the worst haircuts in the world on more than one memorable occasion.

Love the way he layered the back!

He has such beautiful long hair, it's a shame he cut it off. He's a handsome young man and looks great with long hair. Enjoy that long hair while you can, my man! Hopefully it will grow back quickly.

I feel so sorry for young guys loosing their hair. I'm 39 and if I will start to loose my hair I think I would have to go through a very hard and tough therapy.

Hair loss or not, you’ve had some good-looking guys for this series! All the men in my family have had hair loss, so I don’t think twice about it, personally. A bunch of handsome guys is all I see…but I do understand that it probably matters a lot to the men themselves. Great job with the cut!

He looked better before he got it cut. Not enough bang over the top sides. The haircuts are usually good, but this time thought his former style suited him better, with just a bit shorter on side and back but keeping more of the old look on top.

Yes. In portrait mode it's really low and distant. In landscape mode it seemed fine.

No idea why a ton of people are saying he looked better before. He looks a MILLION times better with the new cut. The bends of the hairs pulled back give volume and contrast. It looks AMAZING. His before hairstyle was much more appropriate for a kid, not an adult.

He’s got a great head of hair and it looks very much like mine did back in the 80s-90s! Same color and texture. Dan did a great job but honestly I thought his hair looked very handsome on him before 🤷🏼‍♂️ His hair looked more natural before and now perhaps a bit too pretty if you don’t mind me saying! Just my opinion! Love your channel Dan!

I agree, when I would get this styling at the barber, first thing I would do when at home is get into the shower.....

Have to get in finasteride too and a ketokondrizol shampoo. The big three saved my hair at 24. Now 45 still got it and only one in family that does coincidence? Also microneedleconce a week with 1.5 mm great cut. Love this channel

The haircut definitely gave him more shape but when he had the wet hair during the cut it had more shine and color. Maybe a product with shine that keeps the hair more greased would look good on him.

I have noticed that he does a lot of 90’s referenced haircuts…Anyway I actually liked this guys hair longer in the front..his hairline wasn’t that bad and it’s probably because he started using the medication early…I did like it longer when he came in, but hey as long as the client was happy.

I’ve been a hairdresser since 1986 so I’ve done a LOT of these haircuts when they were in high fashion in the 90’s and always loved doing them! Always did them on my sons & ex husband to make their hair look thicker and hide a receding & high hairline! Unfortunately they dont listen to my advice anymore & both shave theirs off & wear hats 🤦🏻‍♀️ (WORST THING TO DO, hats just accelerate it & decrease oxygen flow to the scalp & the friction from the hat) but most guys prefer to cover it up! It’s refreshing to see men either work with what they have or choose the medication route I think it’s great! Definitely more education of options for guys is needed.

On this one, I actually think he looks better better, the volume that he had in the areas that were cut gave him a fuller look that actually minimized his forehead/hairline.

hmmm...not my favorite cut I've seen on this page, but I get the rational behind the style picked. I'm not quite sure I can put my finger on the why, besides it looking kind of weird head on and from the sides. I almost feel like one of three things could have made a huge difference: one no blow-drying to try and avoid the super strait look (without texture, it looks kind of helmet-y from the front, two adding more texture...would have loved to see you go crazy with the razor because of how fine and straight his hair is to break it up a bunch more, or three change the styling. I dont know that the straight back kinda middle part works for him. You can tell from his hairline when its up that it does not want to naturally go like this. Hmmm maybe just not the cut for me.

This barber became handsome af, lost weight and his hair style so cool now, amazing.

He definitely has some recession, but did a good job with minoxidil which made some of his hair grow back. His hair reminds me of my younger self, i started really losing my hair at 35, but before that i could manage having thin hair quite well. Leon chose a great style for his type of hair, he can manage it and feel confident even if he thinks his hairline is not that solid, he looks great. Best case scenario is that he won't be balding at a young age, but later in life, not much we can do about genetics, but we'll work with what we do have.

I like both looks - the new hair cut makes him look more mature, though.

My hairline is similar to his, and I used to be very self-conscious about it, but now being older, I actually don't care so much. I think guys worry too much about their hairlines, when its perfectly normal to have even some recession. I personally think shorter on the side and longer on the top works really well with this type of hairline. It makes it far less obvious. The only time you can't get away with it is when its wet.

Question is will he be able to maintain it..He will have to keep coming in for trims. I liked him with longer hair better..but hey its his hair.

This hair cut is really great. The client looks so much smarter. Prior he was looking scruffy, now he has good shape and will grow out nicely as well.

The model does a great job hiding the temple area as the top is dense enough to fall heavy and nice.

I LOVED doing these cuts in the 90’s but I prefer them with the top a LOT longer like Take That had, especially Robbie Williams back in the day! Very 90’s UK which is my hay day as a young hairdresser in the UK

Literally the only one I’ve seen that looks worse. It’s a decent cut but it’s gave him a bit of a lightbulb head, whereas it seemed more balanced before. I’m sure it’ll grow out really good tho.

This was the type of haircut I got when I was younger and I hated it. He looked better before.

I usually only went one time per year to the hairdresser because she always botched me and I loved having long hair. I couldn´t come up with a solution. Years ago I started cutting it by myself and at least I don´t have to blame anyone but me. I now don the buzz cut. My only advice is to not get too distracted with this, there are better things in life to do when you are young. At the end of the day you care too much about something most people don´t even notice.

@@2.0JUSTDOIT-vw5ek well I'm not a barber or anything but just look up photos on google. For volume you could use styling powder/ sea salt spray for texture. Then go and get regular clean ups or learn to do it yourself I guess. Also explain to your barber what you don't like and what you like, communication + photos boom.

This is the only haircut I liked the before better than the after.

I think Dan didn’t really want to cut this lad’s hair at all, he said it looked great just as it was, and it did!
