I used to go to Charley's and see that guitar hanging on the wall, but up high. I asked Charley about it and he just said "That's for someone special. " He wasn't kidding.

Stevie broke the red guitar, switched to the white one, played behind his back,played one handed, gave a GREAT MESSAGE, played with his teeth and broke one tooth and sang GREAT TOO, TO ME IT'S STEVIE BEING STEVIE !!! 😁😍🤯🐐🎸😢😢😢😢

I had the pleasure of working on the road crew for Stevie ray and double trouble setting up the stage and taking it down after each show Stevie and everyone that I had the pleasure of working with were great people thank always for taking a chance on me when I was a dumb kid to do something special and help being a part of speeding love around the world with these amazing people even though I brought just a small part just doing my job it has definitely helped me in my life miss you Stevie much love legend never die ❤❤❤

Stevie & his band Double Trouble weren't signed until Stevie was 29 after he had been acclaimed for his work on Let's Dance by Bowie. Shame that so many of his early songs were never properly recorded. A true guitar 🎸 master he was.

Damn I'm surprised at how much hate there is towards SRV in the comments. These people could use his music to let go of all the hate in their hearts. Also, expecting every song to be uptempo is just plain stupid, you need contrast in your catalogue especially when performing live. Oh well, Steve's spirit lives on 🤟🏻💙

Any other artist would have stopped everything at the broken tuner. When SRV gets lemmons he makes lemonade. Guitar swap for a guitar that was set up for another song. On the fly changes and forced to crank up the gain and solo w/ feedback. Channels his inner Hendrix and plays w/ his teeth only to break one. He cuts the song just a little short, and I would too. RIP SRV GOAT

New sub here ,that's my personal favorite.

SRV discovered Jeff Healy in Canada and got him to come on stage with him. The rest is history. Jeff was in town for another venue while Stevie did his last performance and boarded the helicopter. Early next morning Jeff and others got the news :(

Wasn't ever a huge fan but then I didn't listen to a lot of his stuff. This is no bad.

He arrived in the UK with a big fanfare on the back of an appearance on a David Bowie album, and made a memorable debut at the Reading Festival, but beyond that he was strictly a niche artist in the UK. I think he's a more interesting player on the up-tempo songs, but I find this a little bit dull.

I was there at Reading Festival. The crowd had a lot of hard core metal fans and Hells Angels. When playing a Hendrix number the plastic bottles rained down on him. He took it as an opportunity to head and kick the bottles whilst still playing. He consequently won the audience over. One of the greatest performances I have ever seen. I then saw him a couple of years later when he was drunk - he still played well but fell off the stage at the end of the gig. Then I saw him on his last tour when had sobered up and he was back to brilliance. I was gutted when I heard about the copter crash..

Journey🤮😖😝 middle of road pop music , To me they suck COMPARED TO ALL THE OTHER BANDS THAT PUT MUSIC SINCE THE LATE "60"s, "70"s and the "80"s JUST SAYING!!! We've always enjoyed his style. At least from his hits. This one, admittedly, isn't as popping as others, but it's nice.

Not sure what genre of music would describe what auld SRV is up to here but tbh I find it quite boring - just my opinion mind you 🤷‍♂️.. knew at some point he’d fire that geetar up to do a wee bit of showing off , just not my scene MAN .. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This is the 2nd vid i tried to watch over here. But the man is so lack luster while the lady gets the music. Like funkin for Jamaica. She was grooving but not Mr. Man. The songs abt their friend that passed away. He wud hand stevie anither guitar wen the string broke. very deep loving song srv wrote to his friend. The lady should do these reactions by herself. I dnt think the man is into it. Srv and Healy did look @ little sister together. Stevie discovered him and asked him to preform with him. After that everyone knew he was wonderful

Show me a great guitarist who could play behind his head, backwards, one hand, broken string and switch guitars never missing a beat fix the sound on the AMP'S while playing with one hand, using his teeth tune his guitar while playing, even using his elbow but playing behind his back longer than anyone ever could and probably ever will and playing the guitar with no hands by moving the guitar up and down side to side. Even all that and Billboards top 100 has Stevie #11? Really? I believe Stevie was truly underrated, unless you were into the Blues or the radio played a song or two. I'm sure you know that Stevie has a brother named Jimmie Vaughan who is 3 yrs older then Stevie and is a great guitarist In his own right, he had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds but he never achieved the success Stevie did. Jimmie got an electric guitar that Stevie would play when Jimmie would leave the house, on Stevie's 7th birthday he got his first guitar with cowboys and Indians on it but even with the toy guitar Stevie taught himself to play Wine Wine Wine by Stick McGhee and Thunderbird by The Night Caps.(a toy) Stevie joined a band called The Chantones in 1964 and had his first gig at a roller rink so Jimmie gave Stevie Ray his electric guitar. Later Stevie joined a band called Krackerjack along with Double Troubles basses Tommy Shannon. In 1977 Stevie put a band together called The Triple Threat Reuve with Lou Ann Barton on vocals but when Lou Ann left the band on November 24,1979 Stevie took over on vocals, drummer Chris Layton joined The Triple Threat Reuve on September 10,1978, in 1980 Stevie changed the name to Double Trouble, basses Tommy Shannon joined Double Trouble on June 23,1981 and Reese Wynans joined on June 7,1985. Although Stevie's career only span 7yrs he accomplished so much starting on June 13,1983 with the release of his first album Texas Flood. Stevie broke barriers especially when he would always say "We need to take color out of Blues " Stevie won 6 Grammys, 5 W.C.Handy National Blues Awards and 10 Austin Music Awards. In 1982 Stevie was the first musician to be inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame, in 2000 inducted into The Blues Hall Of Fame and in 2015 he was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. On December 13 1983 his Austin City Limits video was voted Guitar Player Magazine's Best New Talent ,Best Electric Blues Guitar Player and Best Guitar Album with Texas Flood, Stevie along with Jeff Beck are the only Triple Award Guitarist ever. On November 18,1984 Stevie won a W.C.Handy National Blues Award, Entertainer Of The Year and Instermental Of The Year, Stevie was the first white man to win either. On August 26,1990 Stevie went to East Troy Wisconsin to open 2 shows for Eric Clapton at The Alpine Valley Music Theater along with Robert Clay, Buddy Guy and his brother Jimmie Vaughan, 2 shows sold out to 40,000 fans who payed a whopping $20 per seat 😅😅. Jimmie said in an interview that Stevie came down from his hotel room and told Jimmie and the band he had a weird dream that he died and he was looking down at all these people crying but even though he was dead he felt at peace. On August 27,1990 after Eric Clapton finish his last show Stevie along with the others went on stage with Eric Clapton, the last song Stevie would ever perform with them was Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson. After the show Stevie boarded a helicopter that crashed into the side of a mountain right after takeoff and everyone on board were killed instantly, the pilot had just failed his test on using the gages for that helicopter, he never flew at night and he never flew that helicopter. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT AND #1 imo. There will never be another guitarist anywhere close to STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, he is sadly missed by his #1 fan for over 40 years.
