Hello and welcome once again everyone, today's replay is absolutely incredible featuring the tier 8 French destroyer Le Fantasque. The higher tier French DDs have received a bit of a nerf recently in update 0.9.0 but Le Fantasque remains in a very strong position. This game is one of the best I've seen in a French destroyer and is well worth the watch. Well, it was a fantastic game! And also the luckiest one ive ever seen. The Kagero never smoked and appears to have just accepted his death even though he could just spot the fantasque and have his Des Moines deal with him. The tirpitz was a straight linus. That des moines never radared or even hydro'ed. The CV never hunted him, the Shima didnt finish him off and he got super super super lucky with that spread. Ahh well, I am just jealous that I cant pull any of this off in ky own fantasque. I get radared, hydroed, plane spotted and outspotted by enemy dds on a regular basis. Meaning I can do precisely nothing in most games

He makes it look so easy. So far I still end up on the bottom of the sea with minimal impact to the game.

Hi Rijkemans, It comes from a lot of experience and game timeto constantly make the right decision throughout a game. This one really stands out as being virtually flawless but u must remember this doesn't represent a normal game but so much can be learned from watching our betters. Make sure to check out the rest of my french destroyer playlist, lots of good advice and tips in general for the french dd line.

I'm furiously running up the French DD line, and this replay inspired me! I'm either hot or cold in this ship, sadly...I'm going to try to be a little more disciplined in my play. Great video! One thing I realized on this ship is that the HE pen is 23 mm, and IFHE bumps it up to 28. That beats out a lot of cruiser armor at 25-27 mm. Is IFHE recommended on the Mogador and Kleber as well?

This is the second review of yours I have enjoyed tremendously after subscribing last week (during your Gorizia review). You ably combine tactical evaluation with an admirable command of the English language. So refreshing to not have a review laced with profanity and slang. Do I detect an Irish accent?

Recently got my fantastic to 6.4 concealment my gameplay now is much better. That little 75 km torp stealth window works great while cruising at 55 knots around the map

Hi Stamina Lee, Le Fantasque is a really dangerous ship when you have your captain well skilled. I used it for the recent 1v1 sprint season and it really felt like easy mode 😉

Hi Keith, this game was simply amazing and I don't say that often. The nerfs have affected the Mogador and Kleber but not terribly, they are still very strong.

Thanks CC...I love the Jaguar and while tougher the Guepard is so strong..thanks to your super playlist I've dived in even though I've got less than 1000 games under my belt. Boy it has certainly improved my SA and positioning. Thanks again CC! o7

I have been playing the game for a year now, and I now have tier X République and tier VIII Le Fantasque. The descriptions of these boats describes them as gunboat destroyers, however, the guns on these ship before tier IX are not that great. Do you think they should rely more on their torps rather than the guns before tier IX? Is it true that basically all the french lines are focused on attacking and retreating immediately due to the poor armour?

SIXTY THOUSAND ship XP, nearly FIVE THOUSAND base... is this the greatest battle ever, or has someone broken 5K base? I'm beginning to think that all the advice I've been listening to regarding French DD's (which I need to get on and finish) is horseshit. Skulking and lying in wait can really bring dividends.

Hi Jsm666, This was a pretty insane game but it really goes to show how being a sneaky mofo can land you some massive XP games. It's the highest base XP game I can remember seeing since I started making videos over a year ago.

I have seen a lot of CCs and you tubers recommend AFT (although hit anything at 15km seems doubtful) instead of IFHE- have you tried it and you still prefer the IFHE? Also, grats on an amazing game.

Hi Kneecapper, Firstly thank you and in answer to your question. IFHE is recommended for exactly the reason you mentioned about hitting anything at extreme range is dubious at best. It's better to actually be able to do HE penetration damage to targets you can actually hit reliably. Don't forget you will be up tiered a lot facing higher tier cruisers which you can still pen with IFHE. This is the rationale behind this part of this particular build.

@@CarbineCarlito Thanks, struggling with the stock 11.9km range at the moment as it puts me too near to tier 10 ships able to hit me at that range. Not that I open fire when 5 enemy ships are at 12km but still not liking having to play mainly stealth torp boat with that small ish torp window. 13Km range is not to far away though with the 200% xp boost days! Thanks for the reply, IFHE is still 4 captain points away though. Wish you had the subs you deserve.

@@Cloudman572 It's a small window to torp from concealment but quite manageable with practice, these torpedos are too strong not to be utilising effectively. You will get the most out of Le Fantasque being able to rotate comfortably between stealth torp and gunboat modes. Thanks again spread the word with your wows friends and clanmates -)
