FREIGHTLINER CLASSIC AC IS FIXED! ALL CAUSE OF THIS ..
Ойын-сауық
We finally get to fixing the AC on the classic and something weird ends up happening with the blower motor. Let me know your thoughts down below!

Man that dash is so beautiful
first 3 speeds go through a resistor module, high speed is separate straight 12 volt wire from a relay. needs new plug, burned side is high speed side. they get hot when plug gets old and loose fitting.

Smart man. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for taking the time to record and edit these videos. You’re doing an awesome job!
Can’t remember how the early Shakers worked but…… Some trucks run through a resistor to get the voltage down therefore slower fan speed. The last position is full battery power. Some run through a separate relay and some run straight battery voltage through the switch.
A friend who has a classic said the 4th speed has its own separate resistor. I drove 5 different classics and they only had 3 speed controls. Learn something new every day.
The fourth speed is on another relay. It's on the top row of relays.

Had the same problem on several freightliners, the new resistor was bad on my replaced it with another new one and now all speeds work, those harnesses for the blower motor burn and over heat from running the blower on the higher settings all day everyday, so I know it has to run hard being in the southern heat what I noticed is the heat ducts where ripped and tore all over the place in the dash equals loss of air flow and not cooling the cab but cooling the dash more! I duck taped all the areas I found with rips and tears and man what a difference in how fast it cools the cab off and how much harder it blows out the vents..
on the fan check the fan diode. not sure if that yr has one but they also go out and they are like 40 bucks. they look like a circuit board real easy plug and play. and it acts like a fan motor speed switch when its just the diode.
You keep that old classic in tip top shape
Had this same issue in my silverado today. I had to change the connector that plugs into resistor because it was burnt up. I know it’s a silverado and not a freight liner but the A/C system works the same.
Hey there man I have a quick question. What is that block called behind the passenger side dash panel that had the four metal ac lines going to near where your blower motor harness was hanging? I just found out mine is leaking freon into the cab.
i replaced fourth speed relay now is working fine
Separate relay for fan speed #4 position on top. Check the relay and/or fuse for speed #4.
That's right if the resistor goes bad the only speed is going to be high. It's the variable speed switch that you're turning right there is probably what is wrong.
I really enjoy the video .. I have similar problems on my 1998 FLD 120 .. the blower is working Unfortunately he connector that gives power to the blower is burned there is no power.. I thought it was the switch .. I bought the switch and no progress yet.. could you please give me any idea how to fix the blower connector.. the wire to the connector got no power ..
I drive a 99 classic and it has 4 blower motor speeds just FYI. If the wires melt like yours replace the motor it has too much resistance but you have a new motor so that’s not news to you. Good luck with your motor
My ac compressor went out last tuesday, finished the week on friday, was a tough couple of days down in fl and ga 😂😂😂
LEGENDA Pozdrav iz Hrvatske
What is your serial number or part number for you compressor and also you have top mounted hoses and bottle ac compressor because i have standard compressor and its standing one
Hey. Can you tell, the compressor resive power from where?
I think I saw you today. On 495 in Virginia. In the area of Fairfax Hospital.
exactly like someone posted a resistor thats it. real easy just plug and play.
Hey AK, what is going on with DADS Truck, are you still working on that one also? One thing about older trucks, at times it will nickle and dime ya, all part of owning an older old school truck. keep on keeping on brother.
Did you ever fix the problem with the speed? If so what was it
Check the voltage with a voltmeter and check all the speed voltage of the regulator . You might have bad resistor or connection.
They make a high temp connector for right there
Maybe the switch?!? There where you turn the fan on that switch may be bad. Just a thought. 🤷♂️
Resistor or relay the 4 speed has a separate resistor or relay
Are you going to Las Vegas in September?

What's the parts number on that ac compressor??
High speed blower relay
Where can I remodel my FLD 120 Inside Like your Truck?? I really want to remodel the inside of my Truck… Any idea ??
Your speed controller is bad on the last speed. I’m sure you will have to buy the complete assembly to fix the problem. Had to do the same on my old Freightliner.
Got the same truck it’s the switch
Replace the fan speed switch
Change your blower resistor
It could be the blower motor switch itself.
I think there's another relay for high speed.
God Bless in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
its the switch bro, need to change it. it happen to my car.
It's your blower motor resistor.

Blower motor resistor controls fan speed.
Hey AK, good job determining what to do next. My 2001 ClassicXL Fld132 retired today 4,671,250 miles. Love your videos. Mary.

I’m glad you enjoy! But that’s a lot of miles of that truck I think she can go another 2 million!

Is that without a inframe? That’s a lot of miles lol
Must be on vacation
Did you have a infram done of a crate motor put in? That's a clean Detroit motor. 👌

We drive with no AC and it sucks ass.... When it gets 100 at 2-3pm we park it, then hit the on ramp at 4 am...
Are you from Bosnia
Your flatbed grew sides and a top .
Could be a switch
Lol
Maybe it's the bad connector
Probably a relay
All the Classics that I ever drove only had 3 speeds. Just Saying. 🇺🇸
Did anybody else noticed the nut on the motor
Could be switch if you already replaced the resistor
