Wow... Other tutorials make it feel like black magic, you make it so simple I feel stupid for not getting it myself. Thank you!

Phenomenal video. I downloaded freecad this morning because I'm interested in laser cutting some models for a hobby project, and thought I'd have a good handle on it coming from mesh modeling software like Blender, but was totally lost. You've helped me immensely!

Excellent work. I'd like to stress that when you enter unit values in the spreadsheet, everyone should get in the habit ( as you do... and made me look twice ) of entering the units in the cells themselves i.e. "5 mm" vs. simply the value 5. Entering units in cells will oblige you to also enter units in formulas as well ( i.e. 70mm + Spreadsheet.MaterialThickness * 2 ) but it will solve all kinds of problems in the long run if you use multiple multiple unit systems ( metric vs imperial ) in your day to day designs. When you specify units in spreadsheet cells, the values will convert to the selected unit system and all your parametric formulas will recalculate correctly.

Yes! That has caught a lot of people in the shop. I made a separate video about it, I should upload that one.

Awesome video! I've been following it step by step just to get the hand out of freecad. A newbie question: How can I bring the measurements on screen? When I apply the constraints they are not appearing.

Hey there! I think I understand. When you create constraints in the Sketcher workbench the measurements will be visible. But if you exit the sketcher workbench you will no longer see the dimensions. However, you can use the "dimension" tool you can measure between any two points and dimension will remain visible, even in other workbenches like Part Design. Also, if you want very good drawings with dimensions you can make use of the TechDraw workbench, which has excellent options for making full technical drawings.
