Very informational and enjoyable to watch. Have not done hoop embroidery on my sewing machine and wondered how one would do it. When you had trouble getting your hoop under your foot, I realized the same would happen with me. Would it work to position the hoop under the needle before putting on the new foot (and while the other foot was already off)? Thanks for a well presented video!

Hi Stella, I used a universal size 80 needle and the thread I've used is Madeira Classic 40 viscose thread.

Claire, your teaching skills are great. I want to free hand embroidery monogram initials on apron. Do you have tutorial for that

Claire, what would be a beginner sewing machine for me to buy to do free embroidery machine. I have not operated a machine before , I am a total begginer and don’t know where to start. Thank you 🙏

Hi Patricia, there are a lot of machines out there so I can understand why you don't know where to start. If you ring Frank Nutt Sewing Machines, they can help you go through. the different models and help you find the right machine for your budget. I would make sure the teeth can be lowered and I would get an open toed free machine embroidery/ open toed quilting foot which doesn't usually come with the machine. Hope that helps.

Would that foot work on my old (from the 70s or 80s) Singer machine?

Hi Brittany, no, that was a foot for a Brother machine. You will need to get one for a Singer machine.

Hi Claire I wasn't going to. I just used invisible thread, double and sewed through each bead once moving across the heart until they are all done. Hope that helps

Hello Claire. I'm totally new to this free motion stitching, whether it's applique, embroidery, or quilting. I was nervous and tense just watching you in this video. I recently bought a Bernina 790 Plus for this purpose, as well as others so I hope someday I can report back to you that I've finally been able to master these free motion techniques. Until then just call me Nervous Nellie.

Is that an embroidery machine? or just a normal sewing machine

It's a normal sewing machine, you don't need a fancy sewing machine to free machine embroider.

This machine is reputed to be whisper quiet but that sounds really noisy
