Wow! I never knew this could be done. I found your videos by chance, I am a new subscriber. Beautiful work with clear instructions. Thank you
Well worth the watch. I typically don't watch 40+ minutes videos on sewing, but this 40 minute video taught me more than the years my mother spent teaching me (sorry mom). I feel like I've just stepped out a university class after watching this video. His advice is really solid, I had flimsy wooden embroidery hoop in my amazon cart and after watching this I realize I will need something stronger.
Best video for teaching how to embroider on basic machine. You are a great teacher, clear instructions and video. Thank you.
I am so thrilled to have watched your video. You gave some very strong advice and great recommendations that I feel confident to practice these techniques myself. I can’t wait to watch this again and get started. Thank you, thank you!!!💞
"Right away - without practicing" Very wise precautionary words. And like driving - it takes practice and the ability to see what is ahead of you. (14:Min), Thanks for helping all of us on our various levels of experience and journeys. At 60+ I can agree 100% , practice is essential.
i've been waiting for YEARS for instruction on embroidery using a 'regular' sewing machine. i want complete control in order to express my original designs. Christopher Nejman's teaching techniques are truly excellent as he combines great design examples with CLEAR language about what he is doing step by step. I can't wait to see ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS Christopher because they are not the usual "crafty" cheap looking ( disposable) stuff. Apologies to crafters, but executing your own precious work is a different matter.
Christopher, thank for sharing your technique.I've been following you for several years now and you're a fantastic teacher.
Beautiful free motion embroidery can even be done on an antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine. Thank you for an awesome video!
Well, as a florist I can appreciate the passion you have for what you are doing. I have that passion for weddings. Due to the economy being the way it is there are not many jobs out in my field and my 2nd passion always has been sewing and knitting. So this is what I am doing now. The flowers with the "fuzzies" are the Dandelions. I love your videos and I am going to build a worktable around my sewing machine. Your videos are great. I bet your wife loves what you do.
Really greeat! I am an absolute beginner of machine embroidery and you have inspired me to start with metallic threads. Thank you.
LOVE the results!! I so appreciate you sharing your techniques in this series under development, Christopher. You have a wonderful way with people and providing instruction with your 'can-do' attitude. Thank you!!
I have always wanted to learn this , thank you for leaving your corporation behind the desk job, and sharing your talents with this beautiful world.
Christopher you have outdone yourself on this video. I'm so happy I came across you. I will be following you on youtube. thank you so much for doing this.
Your video is wonderful! It goes to show you are never too old to learn something new. I did. Thanks, Lesli
Christopher, thank you so much for generously sharing your knowledge. I'm only a few minutes into this video and already inspired, AND loving every second of it. I've never done any machine embroidery before and definitely going to give it a try now!
That is one of the most beautiful sewing machines I've ever seen...!
Thank you so much. I have been sewing and doing embroidery for 40yrs. But I have been nervous of doing machine embroidery....your precise instructions have encouraged me to try. 😊
AT LAST someone who sounds as though they know what they are talking about. Thank you - for your clear, concise and instructive video....

Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I have had 3 expensive sewing machines, and I gave them to my daughter. Now, I am using an inexpensive electronic model and didn't believe that I would ever be able to do free motion embroidery. Now, I know that I can and am anxious to try it. Again, thank you so much for sharing your talents.

OMG this is absolutely fabulous! I've never done free motion simply because I've been totally intimidated. Your instructions are so detailed and precise, I think I may be willing to give it a try. I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the great video.
Beautiful! Almost looks like its real that it could make a hummingbird alight on it Thank you for showing the video and doing all that labor of love.
I liked this. Very informative and I liked how you reminded not to rush and practice on scrap and you didn't go too fast, you were consistent. Thank you
Very nice! I love the two threads mixed together. Just beautiful!

Thank you for this delightful video. I do have an embroidery machine , but this video has shown me what I could do, with practice , without it! I shall certainly give it a go and as you say practice, practice, practice.
Hi Christopher...I'm so happy I found you. I have been sewing as a child I learn by watching my mom sew, Now of course I'm an adult still love sewing. Love your tutorials, I make doggie clothes and would like to learn to make my own embroided initials on my clothes. Watching this is just amazing to me that I don't have to spend money upgrading my machine "Who New" thank you for that! looking forward to part 2. Thanks again your an inspiration!

Thank you, it is a great genre of sewing to learn. Gets one back to basics.
Thank you for what you do, and you sharing your craft and skills.... have always been interested to do embroidery. Thanks
This is such a GREAT video. I too have always wanted to do free motion embroidery but thought it would be hard. I can see that with practice it should be fairly simple. Thank you so much for your helpful techniques. Love that simple design that turned out way more than elegant!
Absolutely loved it and it comes at a time I need to know how to do it. I know what you mean about a table extension. I am so happy to have come across your video and look forward to more. It helps to surf the net I have learned so much and not in a classroom. Thank you so much.
Really enjoyed your life-lengthening tip for making what you love into your job!! Good instruction too, going to try metallic embroidery ASAP
Thank you for sharing, i Really enjoyed watching. Can`t wait for Part 2,
This was amazing. Such beautiful flowers you could almost touch them. Just like dandelions from my youth. He is certainly an artist. This was a fun video to watch him create such a gorgeous piece of art..

After watching this video I am definitely going to try this. Your video explains things so well. Thank you
I’ve been searching for a computer embroidery machine for months but not only found that they are thousands of dollars I just couldn’t find one. After searching for videos on how to do free machine embroidery I found you and may I say, you’re the best! You explain stet by step and in English!!! I was also convinced that an old Singer machine would best and hope to find one. Thank you, thank you Christopher and look forward to all your video and books.

Hi Christopher, Thanks so much for sharing this video. I Loved it and will definitely give it a try. Looking forward to Part 2.
I don't see part 2 either. Grandmother gave me her 1957 Singer Slantomatic back ine the 70s before she passed away. I have used it many years and recently had it cleaned and restored by a professional. I was excited to find your video because I want to do some small projects with free motion technique...my own sketches to stitches.
What a great video, easy to understand how to do this. I'm so excited to do this on my Textima Veritas machine soon. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your video. Love the flower (dandelion). I mostly do tactical sewing on gear and equipment but I have always wanted to do free motion on my Singer Heavy Duty 4432 but I didnt think I could because of my equipment. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for your video!
Brilliant video Christopher, helped me a lot...thankyou
Awesome Christopher.. I haven't worked with metallic thread much and just for some basic machine embroidery. Never have really tried the free motion embroidery but now I will give it a try. Have to get me some metallic needles and will keep watching your videos and see what I can do. thanks...
I tried doing this on an old Singer model 66 with instructions from an antique Singer Art Embroidery book and had the hardest time controlling the needle! You make it look so easy.
AMAZING! everything you said about this tutorial is true and correct. I know from growing up with an amazing lady who did a lot of embroidery works in her time, traditional and exquisite. thanks for sharing this video.
Totally beautiful! You have impressed me. Keep up the videos.
Your tip about the bobbin thread was fabulous. i am brand new at this. working on my first project, not really knowing what i am doing and have NOT ONCE has the bobbin broken. thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much.

sarahleah hankes All the tips are very important. That ergonomic tip is really important too. I did as he said and practised and it sunk in really quick why. Even the sounds he said to listen to was very key to my fast progress. What got me hooked was when he mentioned in other countries they use really old singers. I looked right over at my 1893 singer in the treadle base and said to myself, ok I will try this!! I tried and watched the video again and picked up more tips that I forgot.
You have inspired me to start sewing again, thank you!
Was looking for Part 2 can't wait for the update. I enjoyed your Part 1. I have never used the extension tables before and have always sewn housewife style. Recently bought a Pfaff 2144 with an upgrade to 2170 and it came with a extension table which I was not sure if I'd even want to use but I may give it a try now for more projects. Thanks for the info. :)
I just hadn't realised that this was possible on a standard sewing machine. My head is now bursting with ideas and I'm going shopping for a embroidery foot etc. Hopefully the beginning of some great experimentation - the best bit of learning a new skill.
Hi Christopher, I love your free motion embroidery video. Can you please make that part 2 video LOL I love learning and I'm on hold right now. I want to learn from YOU. I just got the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960. Just so I could do everything on it. I'm still looking for an old Singer. Boy they are hard to fine. LOL. Thank you for all the GREAT video's.
That was great, Christopher - thank you - look forward to part two!
Love this video! So happy that I found your site, looks like a piece of beautiful jewelry! Thank you! Love the Baby Lock machines (Mine is a Grace from the A-Line Series and I have the 8-thread serger (the Ovation).
That is so pretty. Great video, thanks a million.
Thank you for this video. Learned alot. About the hoop and also about the top pressure release. Didnt think about that.
Thank you so much for this video, I have put off trying free motion for years because I thought that I wouldn't be able to do it after a couple of attempts but having watched this video I realise I was doing it all wrong, now I am thinking of applique plus free motion embroidery, must have a bash this weekend.
that is beautiful...loved how you teach...I learned a lot and am excited to try this this week...I have a Husquvarna Epic embroidery machine and love it..didn't know that Babylock had the threading the needle feature as well...sorry I don't have any of your books..always wanted to try this ..thank you
Very good. All about the subject and not the presenter! Nice and concise, and very helpful. Thank you.
Awesome! You make it look so easy. I tried this on my own years ago but looking at a sewing book on free motion embroidery really doesn't teach much.Watching you I have a much better understanding and I'm going to try again!
You truly are an artist, wow!!!!
Excellent video! Thank you so much for the instruction.
i will be using my exstention table, thank you Chris for your fab ideas
hi Christopher Great idea on the extension table. I just recently stumbled on your youtube videos. I really enjoy your tutorials. I thought i would offer One little trick when cutting out the material to prevent it from chipping. If you place painters tape or masking tape works too on the material in the area you will be cutting and then draw your lines along the tape; when cutting through the tape and material it will keep it from chipping the top of the melamine as the jigsaw slices through the material. Little trick i had see when working in the construction industry, plumbers and cabinet persons use it all the time when cutting out counter tops for sinks or other appliances to prevent the top from chipping.
Beautiful Work! Nice video. I can't wait to try it out on my Singer 104A machine!
I love your technique this is great. You do great work!
