WONDERFUL INSTRUCTOR! I was always taught "NEVER USE THICK THREAD IN BOBBIN!". You have made a new chapter for me to take the challenge to the table of my sewing friends. Thanks! Bruce
Thank you so much for these wonderful tips on embroidering on a home machine. I'll be trying it out on monogramming letters.
Such fun and love your instruction style!

Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and time on how to use ''thick threads' with sewing machines.
I must have a go at this. I love your tutorials Claire. They're always so descriptive and beautiful work.
Love this! I have lots of thick threads and always use them by hand, but it hurts my hands, so this is fantastic. Thank you!
I haven't yet ventured into free motion embroidery, but I had a go at using this tip too sew the hem of a pair of jeans and it worked! Thank you so much!
I thought about using thick thread in the top but it would not go through the biggest needle I had. This is great & I am going to go load a bobbin right now & see how it works for me. I am making bowls from rope & hope this works. Will be able to make something beautiful
Thank you for this video! Very informative and it opened a new world for embellishing my crazy quilt.

Thank you Jason
fabulous!
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try it. The only thing is that I have patched fabric pieces together, to create an abstract design. I wanted to topstitch over the fabric.
Am amazed this can be done in brother f420,thank you. Please how can i sew lycra, stretch fabrics using brother f420.
Very clever....you remind me of Delia Smith lol
Can you use embroidery silks in the bobbin? Thanks

Hi Sophie, they are ideas to use in textile art or you could use them to decorate a garment. There is another video I've just done on my channel showing you how to make a textile postcard : kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYmdj6N6ZbW1gbw.html I hope that helps to give you ideas.
Are you using the free motion foot do you drop the feeder to embroidery

Would you recommend using a Bernina Stitch Regulator with this method? Thank you for the very detailed videos.

If you have one and are used to using. one then of course, use it in this technique
The last few years I have become more sensitive to peoples voices. I don’t know why, but I could listen to Claire all day long.👍🏻❤️😀
Thank you! Great video. With the Tree embroidery art work, how is the rest of the scene done with the sky and grass? Is it embroidered or painted?
@clairemuirfreemachineembro7863
Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jasmin. The sky and grass is painted. I have watered down some fabric paint but you can use other paints, acrylic is good. I have also attached some little bits of merino wool and couched that down with some embroidery in the grass area and then I have embroidered some daisies on top of that
Wonderful Video. Would you please, tell me where can I get the darning presser foot you have in this video ?? I want to get one for my machine, as I enjoy embroidering. I will appreciate it very much. Thanks

Hi, the open toed free machine embroidery foot I use in this video is for a Brother machine available from Frank Nutt Sewing Machines. Different brands of machines have their own styles of free machine embroidery feet and they all look slightly different. What you need is an open toed machine embroidery foot that is designed for your specific machine model. Hope that helps.
Could you use this for Sashiko Boro ?
I have tried using thick thread in my bobbin but it turned into a mess on the bobbin... it didn't wind properly at all. It jammed, etc. I have a front facing bobbin and am not sure how to bypass the bobbin mechanism.
Hi Claire,. Can I use an open toed quilti foot on my brother a16 novis machine

Are you bringing the bobbin thread up through the stitch plate before you start and do you have it placed so that it is going away from you at the back?
Does anyone know the type of fabric used in this video?
@clairemuirfreemachineembro7863

Hi the fabric is cotton calico
Why not set the speed control at a lower setting and then just push the pedal alL the way down.
Are the feed dogs down for this? Thanks, Joan.

Feed dogs down, thread tension 1 (New Home instruction book rec), and I get loops on the back. What am I doing wrong?
Why not trying to reverse the thick threads on the top and using the normal fly of threads on bobbin you can save time to reload the bobbin I use this technique since 30 years of sewing experience but love what are doing

The thick thread I use is too thick to pass through the top sewing machine mechanism.
