Free Camping San Rafael Reef - Dragon Canyon - Spirit Arch - Free BLM Dispersed Camping Utah
I set up camp near the San Rafael Swell on some BLM land located in central Utah. The San Rafael Reef was my picture perfect backdrop for my dispersed camping/boondocking/rv camping and it was beautiful! I visited the San Rafael Reef viewing area and hiked the Spirit Arch Trail less than a mile away. I rode my KLR to visit the petroglyphs in the Black Dragon Canyon and the glyphs and canyon scenery did not disappoint. An appreciative shout out to my channel patreons and Super Thanks donator's!

HELLO From Castle Dale Utah 🇺🇸. My wife and I go camping every year at the little grand canyon and Buckhorn Wash..... 25 miles from my house. We love living right by The Swell. I have a couple of videos of our campsites on the Swell.

Your Grand Canyon Vid. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5d2qc-rY7W4fto.html Was that a campsite or can you disperse camp around the rim of the canyon? I've gotta get out there sometime and check it out.
Thank you, Mark for another awesome video. Best wishes and safe travels.

I do keep and eye on the weather. LOL I will not go out on the dirt roads in Utah if there is any chance of rain. I don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. LOL
The Dragon 🐉 hike is cool. Those petroglyphs are wild to me. Yeah plenty of camping out there. The cross over is only illegal if a cop sees you 😂. Mainly because people crossing an interstate is dangerous at those speeds but it didn’t look busy. Just got to be careful. Great video
@DispersedCamperMan
Жыл бұрын
I agree. The only way to legally cross over was to go 14 more miles further for an exit ramp. Lets just say I wasn't going to spend that amount in time and fuel doing that. LOL

Thanks Joe. I retired USAF 2014, 20 years. I figured I'd get on the road and see what I was defending my country for. LOL It's been nine years full timing on the road and loving it.

Definitely lots of area to drone in the mexican hat area. Beautiful area for sure!
Nice Mark! Been a while since Ive seen the San Rafael Reef, i stopped once at the rest area and me n the kids walked up a huge hill to get to the top to see the views, it was amazing! I had no idea of the BLM camping back then, it sure does look like a great spot! I also didnt know there were petroglyphs in Black Dragon canyon, and I have a picture of my son by the Black Dragon Canyon sign! I just returned from a mini trip, about 700 miles, went to Black Kettle, Skipout and Lake Meredith campgrounds and other places, getting my vids out now. Thanks for your vid, it was great as usual man! Have a great day!

Great area. Hope you go to Goblin Valley state park. There is Boondocking just outside the park.

Thanks Curt! Goblin is on my Radar. I was looking at that area on some BLM maps and noticed the boondocking spots. I'll most likely stop by there prior to leaving Utah. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@DispersedCamperMan a few more petroglyphs in that area also. There is a campground outside the park but people were Boondocking a 1/4 mile away near the intersection towards the park, last year.
Great video Mark. Closed gates do deter a lot of people. Some just don't know it's still public access. Is the drone footage from your new drone? It is a wonderful view!!! Take care and have a great day 👍

Hello Tracy! I've noticed in Utah, a closed gate does not mean not accessible. LOL All the drone footage in this video is from my new drone, Mavic Air 2, the same one I had crashed. Thanks for watching!
