In years to come people who didn’t see him will look back on his statistics and wonder what the fuss was all about. In his 79 tests 226 wickets at 32.79 and 3845 runs at 31.78. In 141 Odis 169 wickets at 24.38 and 3394 runs averaging 32.02. These are admirable stats certainly but they don’t explain the immense importance Freddie had to the game in this country. He galvanised the public, made them love cricket again and charmed a nation. I’m not aware of a cricketer that was as much a hero to the people of this country. You could feel it happening. You get a sense of it watching back that over he bowled at langer and Ponting. I think that may be one of the greatest overs ever bowled in any cricket ever. Flimtoff in 2005 is possibly one of the most iconic performances by any sportsman. Gower was quite right. The king has struck. It was a privilege to have the chance to watch him.

I agree. Been an english cricket fan for a long time. I have said this before, I'll say it again, when he was at his peak, he was the best all-rounder to ever walk on the planet. He was simply great. Really wished Freddie and KP played for England little bit more

@@starrynights2343 Don't think anyone would deny that Kallis was overall a much better player, but the thing with Flintoff was how quickly he could flip a game on its head with both bat and ball. An hour of him batting or a three or four over spell of him at his absolute best and the entire complexion of a Test match changed. You certainly couldn't say the same for Kallis. The best teams are made up of a mixture of both sorts of player.
Love the stare that Freddie gives Ponting after every appeal, it’s telling Ponting ‘yeah maybe not this ball but it’s coming, you know it is, I know it is, just wait, you’ll be gone soon enough......’.
My favourite cricketer. Whether bowling or batting he made the game come alive.
I think we’ve all tried to replicate his bowling action 👌

Mine is very much The Body Line Harold Larwood Style. And when I Skipper, it will be the Lethal Body Line attack. When it comes to not your eyes blinking, it is The Art of Captaincy from Mike Brearley.
Definitely in top 5 modern all rounders! A great asset for the team!
This video does not do justice to how exceptionally he bowled. It's not always the wickets but the aggression, 13 over long spell hitting 150+ consistently, plays and misses and mostly when no one was getting wickets - he bowled and got one. That was one heck of a performance from him. I started enjoying test cricket after this series; not for the batting but for good spells of bowling.

i'm afraid that was a "rude" decision from mr K. Blatant ground first. ....Thing is, who is reviewing these replays ? They brought this stuff in so they could get the right decisions, neutral umpires etc.. i'm afraid, mr Sharma, you still get howlers. Do'nt get it. i want Albion to win, but not involving dreadful decisions like that.
Everything is cheered by English crowd. Greatest feeling for a cricketers. Best audience.
Huge fan of Freddie from India
One of the greatest all rounders to play for England, delivered when asked every time!!
Still missing those childhood days ... Flintoff with a fiery spell ...What a character , What an all-rounder ... Respect & love from India
I hated the guy when he was playing but now, looking back, i miss the things he brought into the field. Much LOVE 💖💖
His ability to swing both ways at 140km/h was amazing. Live u Flintoff from Pakistan
Miss u in the field Andrew Flintoff when I see Cricket matches of England. Rip Phillip Hughes ... Love from Bangladesh
Andy is a great northern lad, I am from Preston, Andys home town and we are proud of him. a great talent with bat and ball but more importantly a modest man and a guy who played the game fairly in the true spirit of the game!

I’m an Aussie, but you gotta love Andrew Flintoff. Great sportsman great all rounder, one of the best of all time ,top man ,total respect👍gotta love him 😉😉
Freddie was more than a great cricketer. He had a natural understanding of game-management and would conjure key moments at crucial times in a match. This man at the 2005 Ashes got me into the sport.
And now brilliantly reviving 'Top Gear'.

Always good to watch.
That Ponting run out is one of the best ever!! He absolutely launched it and with incredible accuracy! Such a great player, never a dull moment with Freddie.
Bats with dragon on it and a helmet with beautiful tribal yellow strips of Flintoff and Pietersen were a delight to watch. Ohhh my childhood was blessed

It was a worm, not a dragon. They were Woodworm bats which even Kevin Pietersen was using at that time.
Seeing Phil Hughes is sad. For those of us who love cricket, he will be missed.
my favourite Allrounder andrew flintoff he was the star his pace was amazing every delivery he bowled 145 144kph
Botham, Flintoff, Stokes.. English cricket continues the tradition of nurturing mavericks..!!
Freddie hit so many boundaries because he had done enough running when he was bowling. Brilliant cricketer. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴
I still remember Ashes 2005 we were about 28 to 30 people in a big hall with Videocon TV set. We were enjoying every moment and we loved the atmosphere of test cricket. I came to know that day, test match is about temperament and consistency, but not to hit every ball to score boundaries. We all loved Freddie's performance. Wonderful days those were.
What a Gem!! With that pace and accuracy . Unbelievable
What a great player in that time We (cricket lovers) always miss you Freddy we love you

Fantastic,thanks Freddie!!

Happy birthday Flintoff the england legend
This is greatest wins for England and great series of my life
My ideal bowler
People who glance at the career stats will complettely miss the point with Flintoff. His peak was patchy and relatively short, but at that peak, he owned the field he was on and the opponents knew it.
In 2005 it was Flintoff & in 2019 it was Ben Stokes.
Great all rounder
Awesome man love him
Wonderful cricketer he was genuinely world class with bat and ball. A joy to watch
He was the best all rounder at that of cricket.
The King.
An out and out Showman ! Freddie is the name !
I was very lucky to see Fredie once, in the 2008 Edgebaston test vs South Africa. England got bowled out on the first day but Freddie smashed a few around which kept the crowd going. South Africa needed to survive a few overs at the end of the day so Strauss bought Flintoff on and he made Graeme Smith snick off. Amazing to be there and to hear everyone chanting 'Super Fred'. His stats don't do him justice; he was a great player.
Super, super Freddie Flintoff
He was my idol at the time
Iam big big fan for Andrew filentoff
Incredible moments
Game changer is what flintoff should be known for. Bring him in when you need something and he makes it happen. He won’t get all the runs you need or all of the wickets but he will get important runs and wickets and give the team a lift that carries them on to victory. A true hero 👌👍😊❤️
Freddie was and is larger than life
I love that....😃😃😃😃😃 Best in the World......Thank U...
Not many could change the flow of the match so drastically. Not many could give Langer and Ponting that kind of pressure. What a player Flintoff.
Thank you for the compilation

Even as an Aussie I loved Flintoff
