Man City is accused of pretending investment money was sponsorship money by UEFA and UEFA lost the case. PL is accusing City of misreporting in their accounts, not something UEFA charged City with. City has not been charged with getting sponsorship from shell companies. Also, you need to show that shell company sponsorship either breaks FA rules or is illegal and this has not been done.

This is exactly why the Premier League can not afford to lose this lawsuit to City. If City win this case then there won't be anything stopping teams from doing this same thing. There must always be check and balances in place to make sure teams like City and Wolves and Palace don't do this.

This is fraud openly and should be punished. No matter the team this is fraud.

This is very interesting, because clubs are clearly viewing this as "City got away with it" and are following suit. The PL either let it all go and it becomes a free for all of clubs pumping in all the money they possibly can, or they stop it. It would greatly help if the PL wasn’t so totalitarian about legitimate companies. Chelsea was supposed to be Paramount plus. It then became the third deal to get axed by the PL because they have a few games appear on Peacock. The PL has become so rabid in drinking up “exclusive” sponsorships in almost every arena … good luck finding one at club level that doesn’t conflict.

I think its more to do with the tv rights and what's allowed and not allowed in the deal itself more than the strict rules of the PL. The tv deal is the biggest earner for the premier league and without it the league would have gone bust years ago.

Under the old FFP rules before they made the LATE change Man U complied with FFP but since the breach was down to the PL's LATE changes it was seen as accidental. Initial investment brought success. Success brought increase revenue streams including TV money, prize money, youth system/scouting and player sales, CFA massively expanded network of successful clubs across the world, shirt and ticket sales, and yes massive increase in sponsorship. Mostly legit sponsorship and allegedly some illegitimate. What percentage of city’s revenue from all these streams do you estimate is illegitimate? My point is, even if you think city are guilty let’s not make out all of their success is solely a result of ill gotten gains. (And don’t forget the most recent charge is 2018 too I believe)

Terry, I don't know about Palace and Wolves but in City's case, CAS looked at all the sponsorships from 2013 to 2018 in the UEFA case and found that the case against them was not proved after the most forensic of examinations and in a 92 page judgement. CAS did not look at matters before 2013 which were time barred. So as things stand at the moment, and with none of us knowing anything at all about the evidence which the PL and City have on the 115, City have been exonerated by the highest court for sport at least from 2013 to 2018.

The difference is not football, say English football cause most of these rules can’t be replicated in other leagues in Europe at least except maybe Italy. English football is not the end all be all of of football in general European continued perfectly after the heysel disaster. English football is just digging it’s own grave and all of this has to do with Brexit. Kinda odd how the new television deal got passed a year after brexit along with many ownership changes + it was the PL and the English government that accepted that deal that accelerated everything that is happening now. Eventually English football will become the next Chinese super league or Saudi pro league and become saturated if it continues the way it’s going. Best way to solve this is cancel the television deal and most of these things go away cause it would mean PL clubs will be level with other European teams

Terry clearly does not know how big corporatoions work. When you see a company located in a country with P.O Box that has no staff or produces not serviecs in that country, its not a scam its at all. Its a resgistered outlet that allaows the parent company to by pass tax laws in that country or to get perks for being a registered compnay in that country itself. All big corporations do this its how they function to by pass tax laws as they would be residents. Terry does not understand this at all, that the problem.

If any club is found guilty of this, they should get massive penalties. I’d be pissed off of my club was found guilty of this. Football fans need to be grown up enough to call out their own clubs. Fans need to understand that differently from Man City, Palace and Wolves owners are NOT RICH in order to "falsely" pump these huge amounts of Money into their clubs with indirect Sponsorship deals. The dodgy deals exposed in this video comes down to only 1 thing... Palace & Wolves are obliged to appease the Shirt Sponsor Betting companies with some match-fixing in their EPL games when required cause its the only possible way to return the investment of the Betting company. Or... the betting company is just a cover up for some juggernaut of a club like Man City, who wants to buy Palace & Wolves support when it comes to EPL ruling matters (and why not, even an easy 6 points per season in the process if its vital).

I saw Crystal Palace's new shirt today and it looks absolutely amazing, the only thing I didn't like was obviously the sponsor they chose for it to be at the front, apart from that, everything else is quite good. As for Man City. The sites can't be accessed in Europe, its all a it shady but getting the sponsors name on premier league shirts is big buisness.

That point is poor. Every club that has had a gambling sponsor has taken flack for it. Everton, watford, burnley etc. have had gambling sponsors. Everyone had smoke for them about it. Citeh wouldn’t be singled out. There already massive cheats. This is nothing compared to what they’re actual guilty of.
