I've been using Franklin Covey for a little over a year now and it has changed my life completely. It has allowed me to be organized not just in my day-to-day life, but in my overall life. I'm acutely aware, now, of my saw being sharpened; I know I'm spending my time on Q2 activities every day and becoming significantly better on a weekly basis. I couldn't recommend it more.

Awesome! I have my own system, but I'm very influenced by Franklin Covey since that's what I used through school. Since making this video, I switched from adding a star by three "must do" tasks to using the ABC123 method. And that small thing has been a remarkable game changer in moving my focus from urgent to important!

Same here! Game changer. I've tweaked and added my own printables and such, but the base is always fc. Thanks for sharing! Love finding franklin covey videos.

Yeah it's so good! I have my own system, but I stole ABC123 after making this video and just that small thing really helps with prioritizing the stuff that matters.

Re. SMART goals: the R stands for Relevant, not Realistic. I’m not quite sure how “Realistic” crept in; it is a synonym for Achievable, so would be redundant.

This is one of the best summaries of Franklin Covey I've encountered. Thanks!

Your video is a nice overview of the Franklin Planner. As an FYI, the Franklin Planner is not the “original”. Hyrum Smith was doing seminars using the DayRunner to teach executive how to manage their time. He asked DayRunner to make some slight modifications to their planner pages, but they declined. Smith decided to do it himself and the rest is history.

Ahh yeah. "Original" was probably too bold a language choice. I feel like Franklin has been the biggest influence on the planners on the market now. But I try to be more objective and keep my biases to myself in this style video :) Thanks for the note!

Hyrum W. Smith worked at The Day Timer Planner company under Charles R. Hobbs, (Author of the Book “Time Power”), who was the owner of The Day Timer Planner Company, not Day Runner. Hyrum split with the Day Timer Company and along with Richard I. Winwood (Author of “Time Management,”) I believe. Began The Golden Eagle Mountain Company (GEM Co) which failed, and then Started Franklin International Institute, which became Franklin Quest in 1984 and then after a Merger in Approx. 1992 or 1997 Merged with a different Company, “The Covey Leadership Center,” which was directed by Dr. Stephen R. Covey to create the Franklin Covey Company. After that, Franklin Covey kind of split into two divisions in 2001 or 02 or so, and closed all physical Locations that sold Paper Planners and related supples, except The current USA Salt Lake City Utah Location and some international Locations in India, Japan and the UK, and created the “Franklin Planner Division of the Company. The “Franklin Planner divison of the Company handles the Paper Planner Printing and shipping and related supplies, etc. While Franklin Covey (pronounced “Cuh-Vee”) deals with Book Publishing and Leadership Training materials and Seminars, etc.

I know! I've bough so much audio gear trying to fix this. Even spent some time on the phone with an expert. My newer videos I brought the boom in frame with the mic an inch from my mouth; that's a little better. I think I'll have to sound insulate the office walls. But that project needs buy-in from my other half :)
