I watched this game in vacation in Cancun. Free shots of tequila for every goal for all the fans rooting on Mexico. And they made two French guys take their flag down, who then stormed away after the first goal went in. That was a special match to watch!

Hard to believe this was 11 years ago, they played at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane. I was 10 years old. i was lucky to see Riberry, Malouda, Chicharito, Anelka, Vela, Etc

For me, Mexico is a sleeping giant that has loads of talent but mismanages it. I hope Qatar ends up being a wake up call and they fire Tata Martino and get their young players moving to top leagues on a more regular basis

I see ! You know more than I know ,I think ( details & names of those officials ) ,but I agree that they're sleeping giants !! They're ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ATHLETES/ FOOTBALLERS !! I LOVE THEM !! I am Japanese. I had predicted of their gold medal winning & told others a couple of years ahead !! All those big sport tournaments/ entertainment business awards, political elections are rigged ,so it's not really fair for the ones are really deserved to shine & appreciated & credited & respected !! chile play in conmebol with brazil , argentina , urugay , colombia mexico play in concacaf with canada , trinidad , jamaica , usa hopefully mexico don't have to qualifed in south america it will end like brazil vs mex 9-0 argentina vs mex 11-0 colombia vs mex 8-0 chile vs mex 7-0

And if you would remember well, the player that took the place of Hernandez wasn't Blanco, it was Guillermo Franco, that's the one that should not have played as a starter instead of Hernandez. Blanco was OK coming of the bench, what i couldn't really understand was 'Bofo' Bautista playing lol

I was at the Mex v Arg game and when Bofo started I almost left the stadium! Franco, Perez, & Bofo should have been team managers. Blanco put the team on his back to qualify and Ochoa got robbed a WC. This is coming from the biggest USMNT team fan btw. Also not having Blanco play in 2006 was a shame!!! Those Club America teams were great to watch in the early/mid 2000’s.

Our hopes are with our dear national team.... viva Mexico!

Yeah, they always got hard group 2002 with Croatia, Italy and Ecuador, 2010 with South Africa (host), France and Uruguay, 2014 with Brazil, Croatia, and Cameroon, 2018 with Germany, Sweden, and South Korea. They always qualify to last 16

I was in a restaurant in Paris watching this game. It was a bit awkward celebrating Mexico goals. They just stared at me.

eda123suke I don't know if you use KZread or not, but its 2018 now 8 years from that defeat and at the end France won it all by winning the world cup. Time changes a lot.

you're right, but not with blanco he's a very great player and came back into the national team after sth. like 2007 to secure the bad WC-qualification and he's a really great player and the 3rd oldest player ever to score in WC and the only Mexican who now scored in 3 different WCs. Be proud, that's two nice records, but that's not the reason he's just a very good player.

Mexico is actually pretty good they had beating very good international teams they Mexico players are very smart how to start a play and finish quickly the game

Ochoa lost his place as starting goalkeeper because he messed up BADLY in several matches leading to the world cup. He gave a few goals away with amateur mistakes, so they prefered a seasoned goalie like Perez. I think Perez did alright.
