I remember when I was a child I really loved that team, Honda & Kagawa & Okazaki & Hasebo & Kawashima& Yoshida & nagatomo all these players made me happy even though I’m not Japanese. Now I don’t know what happened or where they are but thank’s for all these memories that they brought🙏🏻. I will never forget

You are absolutely right. Endo holds the record for the most national appearances. And rightfully so. No matter what coach Japan had, Endo was there. He is a running machine, with great set pieces and passing ability. Honda was more well known outside of Japan because he played in Europe, but without a doubt Endo is one of the main reasons why Japan did so well in 2010, in addition to defenders Marcus Tulio Tanaka and Yuji Nakazawa. I actually wish those two were still playing for the national team :/

Alex Mendez Forlans was good, especially considering the circumstances, however the range and accuracy of Honda's free kick was simply unparalleled in 2010. Particularly in range as Forlans was in close proximity whereas Honda's was significantly further away. Therefore I remain adamant in my previous answer of "no."

Zorn Gamer33 hi =) I'm pretty sure the whole war panic is overrated, though the situation is quite creepy indeed... I think the tension should go down this year... at least i hope so.. You're right that it's people who can actually prevent escalation. And events like World Cup should work on that purpose.

Иван Драго I hope the tension will ease as well. I have nothing against Russians, it's ALL of these damn politicians from BOTH sides that make things worse because they don't have to fight the wars they start. Anyway, which languages do you speak? I am eventually going to college to be an Interpreter. I was thinking Russian would be interesting to learn... My Mother used to take care of an old WW2 vet that was from Russia, he obviously spoke fluent Russian. Thought it was cool. Haha

Иван Драго Well, I'm sure your Japanese is great because you're awesome at English! :) I took French as my very first foreign language but I ended up not liking it because it was through a home school for awhile. Long story short, my aunt knew some French and helping me with it. And the veteran was actually a veteran of the US but came over when he was a kid.. About 12 years old. He still had a thick accent, well, from what I can remember. I was a kid myself when I met him. He would tell my Mom in broken English (jokingly) you know no Russian, you stupid and start speaking Russian. Haha he was like my third grandfather. Anyway, where in Russia are you? I'm in Michigan. :)

He scored later on after the world cup against Argentina in a friendly which was the lone goal. That took him up the ladder. He scored 3 more goals at the AFC cup 2011 which they won. He was a newcomer in that world cup. And Leicester city came and went in 2015 to 16.

This was one of Japan's best national team in recent years, they could of gone as far as the semis, they should of done better against Paraguay. Hopefully in the future we can see another great Japan team, in the next two World Cup hopefully.

Won't happen, unfortunately Japanese football will never grow since nobody looks for Asian players in general. I'd even go to the point of saying it is more of a social complex, since there a lot of good Japanese players and all of them are hugely underrated and looked down by fans and critics. Honda is pure class, easily at Pirlo's level, yet he was never given the chance to shine.

Here in my country we had a great Japanese player. He scored in pretty much every game he played (he rarely played), he was even priced at 60 Million and then at the end of the season they just sent him back to Japan.

  • @mmiah657

Who was this player? The Spectacular Now and yeah Asian players are looked down upon (I personally think this is to do with ignorance), unless they have a spectacular spell in one of Europe's best leagues, like Kagawa did when he first played for Dortmund. Honda is an excellent player, he should of never joined CSKA Moscow, would of been great if he joined a team in the Bundesliga back then instead, I think he would of had a much bigger impact in world football. However, I am hopeful things in the future for the Japan national team does improve, they have great players but they need more people to believe in them and give them chances, especially in Europe.
