Just because we won’t get him doesn’t mean we won’t get top tier animation. Mappa is an experienced studio and they understand how important Attack on titan is to everyone.

Oh boy, just watched season 4 episode 14 Levi vs Zeke in the Giant trees forest. no disrespect to Mappa, they are doing the best they can, but we are far from those Sakuga moment... I really don’t get why the network was that greedy and most of all so shallow and stubborn to deliver the last season in 2020 even at the expense of the quality of the animation which has made Shingeki No Kyojin the reference in anime it is. This is so frustrating, we really could’ve had a cohesive animation and art direction from start to end, but Kodansha really messed it up and Mappa also agreed to fulfill that thing in 8 month...

@Fulljena rumbling episode was amazing don't get me wrong but no one will be able to recreate the godlike odm gear that arifumi imai made. Plus the damage for s4 part 1 will never be undone. It should be a lesson as to why it's a bad idea expect too many projects with bad deadlines.

yeah P2 animation was quite good because they hired more animators from overseas. You can easily tell by their Western animation fighting style (or even the keyframes with the person who animated it)
