    This has to be the best thing The Boys have done. It’s a perfect sum up of the series You have Homelander acting like a silver age superhero with his “cheesy sayings” and classic tropes like using his strength to wrap someone up in metal and using his heat vision to disarm someone. However, every little classic thing he done was always met with realistic consequences because the real world is more graphic and violent than what ever goes on in his little newly admitted Vought world view Superheroes in the real world

  • @cobycoba

    @cobycoba

    6 ай бұрын

    not really. It's different alright but it isn't any more realistic. I don't see any world where the hostages don't celebrate Homelander killing the terrorists despite casualties. Not to mention how there is sound logic to everything he could have done but just chose not to for some reason. He even dropped the gun around his own feet but they somehow teleported to the terrorist. The Boys in order to satirise super heroes in the way that it does necessarily needs to exagerate real life to make it clear that it's mocking something and not subscribing to the idea.

    @@Imthesoulofthes Plus, lasering the AR15 wouldn't have made it explode like that. The upper and lower would pop off and some shrapnel would launch. You may get cut up, especially if you're not wearing eye pro, but it's very unlikely you would die. You most certainly would not lose your entire hand. And that's being generous considering the mag is about half the size it should be for .223. As for the guy on the other end of the barrel, I don't know if the bullet would be gassed enough to punch through the barrel, and there's no telling where the bullet would go after it punched through. But he would probably take a very weakened bullet to his skull, and for the hostage to die is not far fetched. He would not lose half of his face to an explosion though.

    Non sequitur, motivated by a desire to stay consistent with an earlier indefensible position. One doesn't need a lungful of fresh air to scream. One never did. I get it. You were one of those people who forced masking on people with impaired breathing, and you go on telling yourself that what you did either for the sake of your own exaggerated fears or worse, just to fit in, wasn't monstrous. You feel the need to go on believing that so badly, that you'll take the non-argument you used to defend your real life cruelty, and passionately apply it to a fictional character. But it remains nonsense, and you remain a terrible person. To breathe, one has to be able to fill one's lungs with fresh air. The composition, moisture level and temperature can all matter, and a certain volume has to be taken it for a full breath to occur. Bind somebody up with metal, and that's going to be impossible for her to do. But all that one has to do to scream is briefly squeeze some air out of one's lungs quickly. One doesn't need a lot of air to do that, and the CO2 levels, moistness and heat of what's coming out won't matter. Vibrating gas is vibrating gas, and one isn't trying to extract oxygen out of that which one exhales. One could still scream in room filled with pure CO2 (or any other gas that wouldn't instantly knock somebody out), but one certainly couldn't breathe in there. So give it a rest.

    Honestly. Alot of this isnt Homelander's fault. He attempted to show as best and least violently show he would not be affected by their tactics, showing they are only a danger to themselves and the hostages. He attempted to disarm and break the guns. Numbnuts still decides to pick it up and threaten a hostage. Now. Homelander. Best bet blitz him again and crush the gun. Maybe push the gunmen away from the hostages as they are clearly insane and a threat even if you comply because they are insane. Heating up the magizine well doesnt go well. Gunpowder is reactive. But again. Who the hell picks up a broken gun, theatens to blow it up to kill a hostage. Both at fault. And then it spirals. When it spirals now it is Homelander who has entered into the strictly wrong territory. Up until that point the gunmen were the biggest insitgators. Unfortunatly it wasnt Bat-Man or Spider-Man they tested like this who can account for these things. But someone who doesnt know what he himself is capable of and having to find that balance after being used as a lab rat.
