Atleast my panther was okay,not dangerous bite. Females are smaller but,they are faster.Cats are not fox food,they are predators who escape even packs of dogs or wolf whit their speed and climbing skills.

Great observation. So the way of the wild. Domestic pets will go for broke while feral wild canines and felines will be driven by an certain order; survival, hunting, opportunity, occasionally self entertainment and other things along with the override of starvation hunger. Wild animals have no health care or Vet to care for them. A cat scratch could lead to a lost eye or total blindness. It could lead to fatal infections. A cat could get gutted in a fight with a fox and taken to the Vet then treated like royalty for weeks. The fox is battling to survive first. The cat simply doesn’t want to give up the spot on the sidewalk to stupid nippy dog.

@selah All cats should never ever be declawed. It is the most cruelist thing you could possibly do. Any vets who would perform such a henious act, should be shamed into bankruptcy. I choose my vets wisely. Furthermore, a cats claws are their means of self defence and if you get scratched, then tough luck. You deserved it.

I had both of my cats de clawed and neutered because they where strays and I wanted to give them a good home but they where literally RIPPING apart everything in my house including each other but I did not want to let them out because we lived in town but now I live out in the country and all they want to do is go outside and I just can’t let them because of videos like this ...I will NEVER have a cat declawed ever again I feel horrible for doing that, I feel obligated to protect these cats now because I took the only thing they have to defend themselves away. All I can say is these cat are safe have a good home with food and water and they are loved everyday

I have been looking after two cats for 15 years when I was young. A female and a male Tomcat (not "helped") The amount of violence cats can generate when really angry or threatend is shocking. On day the Tomcat discovered a stranger cat who had sneaked in through the catflap to snack on their food, and the Tom cat produced a deep whining howl like cats can do when angry. And immediately attacked. What happend then can only be described in terms of what you sometimes in cartoons or commic books, where the animals seems to turn into on big screeching ball of teeth, nails, flying fur and etc. untill the stranger was chased of, in a fraction of a second. The violence and noise was unbelievable. I have also seen them chase of Much bigger dogs (normally by hitting on the nose with those lighting fast claws), and (on YT) fight with deadly venomous snakes which they kill by hitting them with their superior reflexes and stamina. Cats are truely badass.. (even if they look cute and friendly when are snoozing)

I grew up right next to the forest preserves outside Chicago. When I was a kid those woods were full of foxes, but in the mid-1980s or so coyotes moved in and killed most of the foxes, they are very rare now. But coyotes are everywhere and they do take people's cats who are foolish enough to let them go outdoors.

No, that fox was infact young. Rather small and inexperienced. An experienced fox wouldn't waste its time on a cat unless it had a mate with it.

As a male, I was given some advice many years ago: Don't fight...unless you really, really have to. But if you do, go all out, don't hold back. Lots of boys and men get beaten up because they hold back. Go in, all guns blazing, but only when you've absolutely no choice. I think this cat knew the same.

I had a friend that lived in San Diego, and they had a house that was on top of Mission Gorge. He would have the huge wharf rats come into his house and threaten his wife while she cooked dinner. She told him that the rats go or she goes. (I can't blame her either) So my friend went out the the humane society and adopted 2 kittens. He had 2 daughters, a kitten for each daughter. He said that at night they would hear these knock down drag out fights between the kittens and the rats. He said that he was afraid the the rats were going to kill the kittens before they became cats. But in the morning there would be a dead rat. As the kittens grew into adulthood, he said that they would not back down from any 4 legged creature. He said that if a dog would come into the yard, the 2 cats would attack, and the dogs would run away with their tails between their legs howling.

My cats kill mice and gophers, just not enough gophers! The gophers screw up my ditch banks, and the mice are just nasty. I don't hunt or fish though. The cat at the end is like.."F-off"

The fox was confused, because the cat didn't act like prey. This was a good sized, healthy cat.

Its probably a young fox too. Not very tall

Foxes know better than taking their chances with a prime cat. That cat knows it.

Not surprised the cat wasn't all that afraid of the fox! I have seen cats stand up to bears and watched the bear hastily retreat when the cat showed aggression towards the bear! Speed and sharp claws make other animals very wary of cats!💝😻

With that pole right there, I wonder if the cat saw it as a plan. I don't think a fox can run up a pole?

I use to go camping with 5 cats. I was camped by a nice stream and my wife went fishing. She found a nice hole, but there was a 3 foot snake in the tree next to where she wanted to fish. The Alpha male went over to the tree and waited until the snake came down a little. He then slapped the crap out of the snake. The snake was not use to this kind of abuse and went into the stream and swam across it. I will bet that the snake had never seen a domestic cat before, and thought that the cat was a rabbit. I bet that he thought later that it was sure a mean rabbit. My cat figured out a way across the stream and went looking for the snake, but the snake left for parts unknown.

We have a lot of urban foxes here in the UK 🇬🇧 They live in perfect harmony with our domestic cats. I guess they have plentiful supplies of food without risking serious injury and possible death from infection. Very wise 'cos those of us who have witnessed the sheer ferocity of a cat fight know that the outcome could be very iffy for Mr 🦊 🐱

Foxes don't see cats as food. This was simply a matter of one predator trying to assert its dominance over another.

GPD W foxes don't usually attack large cats but just last week I was driving down our street and a fox had a cat in its mouth.

If a fox could kill a cat with sufficient confidence, cats would be foxes prey. No matter if cats are predators or what. This is sorta like with cats and rats. If a cat is a stupid lazy house cat and can't fight to save its life, it won't hunt a rat, although it would certainly hunt a mouse. To a confident fighter cat, on the other hand, a rat is a normal prey.

Had a cat that looked just like that one. He'd sit in the drive like that, like a Buddha totally unperturbed, when dogs would come by. They'd eventually get too close and a lightening strike of claws across the nose would send them running away howling. Was always fun to watch.

If that were MY cat, I wouldn't be standing around watching this!

The Fox got off lightly and lucky to have it's nose in place. The cat was patient, just sat there thinking make your move and I'll kick your arse! Seen this before and the cat always wins.

That cat was smart throughout the confrontation by keeping its eyes on the fox at all times. The fox tried to attack the cat but the cat was like you want to try it? The fox was like nah.

I'm ferrel cat manager in our town. Cats are very smart lightning fast and accurate even the old ones. I wouldn't tangle with a cat. If I need to catch one I've learned a safe way to do it. It takes a lot of time but safer for me. Right now I have 9 in my house. 1 I have trained to communicate by sign language another drinks my tea through a straw. There are so many things people don't know about cats and I still learn something new from them every day.

Cat be like "okay, bring it on, fake doggy."

The cameraman is more interested in his video than he is the cat’s life. He could have yelled at the fox and drove it away

the Fox is way more intelligent than the cat. the cat is just such a formidable predator, it has no blind spots, it’s more flexible, agile and quicker than the fox. but the Fox walked into its territory. That’s why you see the cat stand it’s ground. The fox is assessing the situation, tries one thing, tries another, and it is smart enough fuck off cause it won’t be an easy fight. Here’s the difference between the cat and the fox Even if the cat wins the fight. It would still have very little chance of killing the fox. Only about 10% of the fox’s neck is vulnerable to the cat. and 100% of the cat’s neck is vulnerable to the fox

@@RetroLuv_ that cats when fighting with intruders doesn't aim to the neck , they aim to the eyes xD foxes can kill young cats ,not the adult cats, and if the fox try to bite the neck they use their powerful bag legs have any options.

The cat is laying down enticing the fox, fox comes forward, cat stands up, fox runs off.

The cat shows one smart response: just sitting there. If the cat ran, the fox would be able to outrun him; the fox has advantage of speed, agility, teeth and powerful jaws--none of which benefit him, if the cat just sits there.

Really? That cat was as big as the fox. And I would say as agile. I would have loved to see them got at it. Those claws could land some good blows like they do against dogs... If the cat hadn't been de-clawed.

The fox is not more agile than the cat. And the cat certainly doesn't lack for weapons.

I used to look after my daughter's ginger cat, who used to play chase with our local foxes. It was apparent that both fox and cat were unafraid, and enjoyed the encounters. A lot of the play strategy was stand-offs then an advance and retreat. The cat usually on the advance! This cat's tabby markings were very clear. When curled up, at first glance, it looked very much like a coiled snake, especially when an eye opened and the slit of the cat's pupil came into view. ssssssh!
