  People forget cats are hunters also and good ones at that. They have sharper instincts and reflexes than most animals. Cats are very patient and calculating creatures. I would not be worried about any outside cat vs a Fox. A raccoon is a different fight for cat tho

  I live next to a big park that has foxes. So far in the two years I've had him my 4kg american short hair has never had a problem even though I'm sure that a fox because of its size would win in a fight.
