Fox just released the flat version of the Union with BOA - it's like $230 though 🤑

Curious why they only clipless has BOA on

You sohuld do a video on summer riding shoes, I prefer flats so that's what I need. I am looking for shoes with the breathability of Five Ten Freerider, but features and advantages of 2022 Ride Concepts TNT. So that's super stiff midsole, thick enough outer sole, great grip, but shoe can bend up at the front for walking, robust and stiffer toe protection, well damped mid sole. But I need the breathability. It's winter now, it's close to the end, but still down to -2 so wool socks and TNT shoes will do nicely now.

Why don't we get the velcro strap on flat pedal shoes?

Tell the people in the background to clam it when you are filming.

Haha dusty Wygle and Carson Storch were just too excited about going for an ebike ride! I was trying to look at them subtly, but didn’t work… 🤷🏻‍♂️

How is the width? Are do they fit with someone that has wider feet? Are they true to size.

True to size for sure. Not the widest out there, somewhere in the middle of the range. Most should be comfortable, but not those with super wide feet.

How's that long-term fuel review comn??

Shimano am903 are the best shoes I've ever owned lace covers say it all and price is reasonalbe where thiese are so expensive especailly the uniion boa which are a $158 more and the union is $68 than the am9 here in canada.

Did you experience the cap getting off or coming loose?

No we haven’t had that happen in the 6 pairs our crew has. But one of our friends had it happen during a crash. He put it back in and it’s been fine. Except for when he crashes haha.

How is the breathability? does it even compare to Five Ten Freerider? Or have you tried anything that you could recommend for my needs? that's the where Freeride shines, and the grip, but the sole is horrible apart from the grip, super flexy. But I miss the breathability. But the thing about the front being stiff, so walking is not good, that's a deal breaker for me, I don't know if it's as bad as Northwave Multicross Mid GTX, they were extremely stiff at the front, but also the Vibram Fort William sole did not grip well., it was horrible, unless I put the power and weight down. But I needed size 44waterproof shoes with gaiter for wet snow winter riding and puddles in cold weather, but those shoes had too loose ankle, but if you ankles, heel is abnormally large, check out Northwave shoes, I need to use the ankle braces for them to not be too loose, but still heel lifts a bit. I just came from Five Ten Freerider shoes and went into the Fox Union lace ups. To be 100% honest, they feel almost identical, which is a good thing, as I loved the Five Ten's. I found they offer the same great grip and support. The only discernible difference I feel, is slight bit more heal/ankle support in the Fox Union's. I've had them for a bit over a month and ridden in all conditions, and they are holding up well. So now the only test left for me is long term durability, as my Five Tens lasted for 2 years with 3 rides a week, which I thought was impressive.

@@MrStuwr250f how does the sizing compare with the Five Ten Freerider? I have short fat feet and find it difficult to get a decent fit. The freeriders in 43.3 fit me well though -- thanks in advance

​@@MrStuwr250f Five Ten Freeride were too flexy and sole was too weak. But were very breathable. grip and comfort was great yes, but the mid sole did not dampen enough, and was too flexy, so shoes flexed down. I use 2022 RideConcepts TNT now, no where near as breathable, I only feel the wind if it's a subzero temps and a bit medium strength. In the summer it's too warm. Freerider lasted me two seasons, as I had both versions the winter version too (Freerider EPS).

@@fastfish666 I’d say I have pretty regular feet width wise. I was a 45 in Five Tens and went straight to 45 in Fox Unions and they felt the same…but sorry that probably doesn’t help you.

@@mtbboy1993 interesting observation, I never had that issue with the sole of the Five Tens being too flexible.

Done w/ Fox apparel w/ maybe exception to a couple helmets.

I enjoy fox jerseys and my proframe helmet, only issues I had with fox was a set of gloves I got from them fell apart pretty quickly. Loved the fit and feel, just only got a couple months of life out of them.

Kept trying to figure out the talking in the background…Come on man 🤣

Yet to log enough miles in the BOA shoes to say for sure. First impressions are promising, but the CB shoes are damn good too.

I think, FOX are little bit wider. Fox, I can get 44, CB I have to take 45 -and then there is a space in front and the foot is not so secured in it.

Unfortunately extra tech and features usually come with a price tag to match. Thankfully the Union (with laces) come in a bit cheaper if you're not interested in the BOA.
