Four Tiers of Efficiency - Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast

There’s one thing that’s true about every leader: you have a lot to do. It may be returning phone calls, answering emails, reviewing dashboards, making presentations, leading meetings…and that’s just the easy stuff. You’re also thinking about the budget, expanding a department, or balancing family with career. You feel like you never have enough time, and there’s never enough of you to go around. On this episode of the Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast, Craig breaks down everything we do as leaders into four tiers-only the activities in the top tiers deserve your attention. They’re the activities that make you most efficient and most effective.

Personally, i feel that my first priority is to “know the condition of your flock”. (From Proverbs) Taking a quick once-over of those i want to give my time to, first, is my #1.

We finally have a member from Zambia who is living in Malawi at the seminary, and has a phone capable of watching Life church. He read the tenets of our teaching, and was happy to see that we follow the Bible in all we do. He got to see At the Movies and never saw such a thing, so he right away invited others to come and see!

Bless you for your leadership video. I learnt a lot during my illness. I find that this tended to fast track me. I was 5 years of chronic illness. Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation. But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 😇🙏 I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. *Keep believing even when it's hard* 🙏❤️🙌 *All things are possible with God*

I agree that in the chaos of tasks, this system of keeping things simple and triaging points of contact is effective, but I think there are too many absolutes being stated here. Moments that have shaped my character as a leader have many times come from unplanned, seemingly insignificant asks from people. Yes, we can not make it a habit to be stretched to a point of ineffectiveness, but it bears mentioning that checking with God to see if my path needs a little detour on my way to Jairus' house is important. Hope my 2 cents boosts your channel's engagement to reach one more person with the message of the Gospel. Love your content and anointing. It has helped me. God bless you and your ministry.

Yes, l do see your point. And for me, l have to listen and contextualize. I have volunteer staff as l cannot pay them as yet. Still awaiting my first contract. A text, phone call... to me from someone might be an offer to follow up on, though it is not a tier one activity. Hmm...ultimately, l have to tune into God for guidance. I love the idea of tiers of effectiveness.

This is a good pod cast, I like how you said if you don't decide what is important to you, other ppl will decide for you...but I had to laugh at this one, "You will never maximize your effectiveness by responding to other peoples priorities"...I had to laugh because as a mother, that is literally your entire job..Attending to everyone else's demands..lol

Great leadership truths; I especially liked the urgent versus important needs discussion. I would add an encouragement; focus on how you carry out the things that you have to do and see if you can transform these tasks into something that accomplishes multiple goals. As an example; you should be able to provide individual development in any team discussion by knowing the things that each team member needs to develop.

I love this material and it’s applicability to both religious and secular organizations. I was curious, there is no mention here (and perhaps for good reason) about work/family dynamics. Are there Leadership Podcasts that speak to this topic? There seems to be a heavy work/career focus here and was curious how to balance our primary call to disciple and care for our families with this great material for our work. Thanks!
