Four Ghost Towns in Italy (and one bonus location!)

We visit four paese fantasma - ghost towns - in Italy:
Pentedattilo, Calabria
Bussana Vecchia, Liguria
San Severino, Campania
Rocchetta al Volturno, Molise
and the Monastero in the Gole di San Martino, Abruzzo
We love walking around deserted and abandoned towns like these. They are a unique glimpse into a moment in history. While they can be popular with tourists, you are still able to walk around with no crowds. In many places, we were the only ones there. We hope you like them as much as we do.
The music:
Sogno di Tarantata - Orchestra Popolare di Virus Taratulae
Miserere - Zucchero with Luciano Pavarotti
Agapi - Notte della Taranta 2020
Beddhu Ci Dormi - Paolo Buonvivo, Notte della Taranta 2020
Bella Ciao - Franco Morone
Mamma La Rondinella - Notte della Taranta 2011
0:00 - Introduction
1:04 - Pentedattilo
4:33 - Bussana Vecchia
6:44 - San Severino
11:36 - Rocchetta al Volturno
13:37 - Monastero di San Martino

I wonder how filmmakers could ever do without drones. I like what you showed, but when you start with Pavarotti you could show me trainstation toilets and I would stay. Thanks.

I'm glad you liked it! I love the perspective drones offer, it can really give you a good sense of the environment. Ha! That should be on his next billboard - "Sings so well even train station toilets look good"

I was enjoying the video until the video went from soft, soothing music to very loud and obnoxious music. Had to stop watching at that point.

Sorry you didn’t like the song - which one was it? Picking music is always a hard part and may not hit everyone’s spot. We try to keep it to authentic Italian music and then get it to fit the theme of the video (and the timing). We will keep looking for the good stuff.
