Of the many "How to drive in Italy" videos this is by far the most informative. Thank you, I'm just a little less terrified now 😂 Will be driving from Milan airport to Aosta valley

We didn’t realize there were so many driving videos until we made this one - we’re so glad you liked it and it made it a little less scary. You will be great! That should be a pretty drive (our LaMorra Pt 2 video has a little blurb on our visit to Bard in Valle d’Aosta- that’s my cheap plug for the day :)

Glad you liked it! We have failed “quizzes” like that road quite a few times. After a bit we look around wondering why there are no other cars and why everyone is staring at us. Then we do the slow drive of shame trying to get out of there.

Sign at 03:28 is not "Exciting" but rather "Attention" or "Danger". It is often combined with a text sign (in Italian) to give more detail, although not in the example in the video. Thus drive with extra caution and care when seeing this sign.

Yes very true - the “exciting” was an attempt at humor.

Pro tips for driving in Italy… 1. Never put your phone down. And remember, texting while driving is a skill that needs to be practiced. 2. Drive as fast and reckless as possible. When you see pedestrians or bicyclists on the road, don’t slow down. Try to see how dangerously close you can get without hitting them. Especially at crosswalks. The same rule applies to driving near motorcyclists on the autostrada. 3. When entering a roadway or intersection, never look in the direction of the oncoming traffic. Only look in the direction that you want to drive. If there’s traffic, block the oncoming cars and wait until there is an opening in the lane you need. And of course, never use your indicators. 4. Ignore all speed limits and stop signs. When at a traffic light, honk your horn as soon as the light turns green. Don’t be shy, horns are made for honking. 5. Parking. Make sure that when double parking you block as much traffic as possible. 6. If the car or motorcyclist in front of you is not going as fast as you want, be sure to tailgate at least a half meter from their bumper. Don’t forget to dangerously pass whenever possible, even on blind corners.

Speed cameras shown around 2:30 are all fake. In fact in most regions there are no or almost no real ones

That’s funny, I had heard the same thing from someone else but mostly for the ones down south. Oh well better safe than sorry and it probably helps keep some of the drivers down to a sane speed.
