It is always so heartbreaking to see such fantastic buildings like this left to rot.

Your story telling technique is fabulous! Such beautiful estates and mansions just left to decay us so sad. The architecture is a work of art! I love to see them and imagine what they used to be.

What i like best about this channel is how they focus on the actual location and not on taking rolling selfies

I lived in a Kinderheim in Sigmaringen on the Danube in western Germany till 1956. It would be great if you could do some video there of the Catholic run orphanage, in the northwest part of town, and also the Hoenzoleran castle on the river. I am retired with very little income so cannot afford to contribute anything right now but maybe later can send something. Also, I lost my German very quickly since no one around me spoke it and learned only English.

I feel so sorry for this house. It was once a loved sweet house and then it was taken over by such bad people. It could be so beautiful again.

While its expropriation might have been unfair, I don't see any reason to believe the building itself suffered any kind of damage during that time that would have been spared if history had turned otherwise, and let's not forget that era ended a very long three decades back and the property returned to private hands that much ago. Of course, saying so will turn me into a diehard communist in your mind, but the only reason for this comment is that I cringe when I meet such ignorance and stupidity as yours is. Peace, and may you die a little bit less dumb and ignorant than you are at the moment, though I'm afraid it'd take a miracle...

Bilis Negra, ignore them. Enlightenment can not be forced. This chanel is supposed to be about urban exploration, not the exploration of racist freaks in comment section. Communism isn’t equal nazism. People who think otherwise are seriously deluded. Second, I don’t blame them for not studying hard enough, therefore not understanding causality and historical processes. It’s quite a common thing today to be ignorant but full of attitude like Aerin Lena and Lori Stevens. As if it’s not sad enough, Lori has a foul mouth as well.

Trying to simplify all the complicated events happening in post revolution and civil war country where there was a lot of starvation and banditism happening due to changes in political regimes. Are you aware that there was about 7 wars in that period of time? We get the maximum number of 5 millions repressed people during communists regime. 799 000 were executed. 600 000 died in forced labour camps. More than a million lost their lives during deportation and dekulakization. All together it will be around 2.6 millions. The other half survived repressions. Do you consider all the repressed people innocent? I mean in THAT time frame that we are talking about. Because yes, traitors and those caught in espionage were executed during repressions. After many years, less than 30% were rehabilitated. It means that more than half are considered to be guilty even by a new liberal government who tries to get rid of communistic history of their nations. And some additional statistic for those who compare communist tyrants with Nazis. Way more than 26 millions of Soviet people lost their lives during nazis occupation. Many still missing... I have never met a family that suffered from repressions untill the moment I purposely searched for those family for my work. On the other side I don't know any single family who survived WWII without loosing their family members. See the difference, please. And while I grieve over every single life that was forcefully taken, we need to be openminded and learn about two truths that happen simultaneously in world history. Because seriously, there is nothing wrong with communist ideas of Karl Marx. It was just poorly interpreted. Can we really count all the massmurders during IMPERIALISM eras or perhaps you want to discuss democracy? Because bloody communism is just not bloodier than any emperors' or democratic presidents' greed really. If you open the pages of history of the USA that was not communist and compare their loss of human lives during the same communist era in USSR, you will be surprised. 11% of population was erased compare to less than 2% of bloody communists. Any process can be broken down and explained. There are reasons and consequences. We need to learn how not to throw judgements based on a few articles read out of boredom. I'm not saying anything good about Lenin and Stalin. I don't justify what happened under their reign. However, it's crystal clear WHY it happened. Oppressed and starving people could take no more of their last Tsar. They needed Lenin and they created him. Just like Germany that was in depression created their leader. All of them used force and propaganda to get where they got.

ok, I saw your latest and now this one.. I'm sold.. I like this channel.. This is one place I could see myself buying to renovate.. But it is to far away and i am getting to old to travel far any more... it would be a lovely place to live for awhile... Bring it back to it's old glory.. live in it for a bit then give it over to a park for people to enjoy... to many places left to find and fix and I am running out of time... oh well.. some one has to pick up the slack don't they? How can we let things like this die...

It kills me when I hear of forced occupation in homes after WW2. Its always down hill from there to fall into disrepair. Unless a rich buyer can rejuvenate. You must be in awe walking through history and saddened at the same time while exploring. I'm grateful you research and include a story behind the owners. Keep up the good work and thanks for the shoot!

The detail on the stair bannister and mouldings were simply beautiful. True craftsmanship is (has) becoming a thing of the past. So much beauty and skill is rotting away in these grand old places.

I live in Qingdao, China. A city which was ruled by Germens 100 years ago. This is my dream style of house I since I was a child. There are many houses like this in the center area of Qingdao. Looking from afar, countless houses are dotted in the hills, like children's toys. This is so beautiful! I so adore it! I wish people can protect this piece of jewelry.

I 💯% agree. So many urban explorers go through abandoned places like a lightening⚡ bolt. Their number one goal is to go video the next location. Missing interesting items and often even rooms, I know I would have liked to see. For the majority of explorers this is their only source of income. Therefore, the more places explored in a day, brings about potentially more subscribers, likes and comments which eventually adds up to big dollar💲 signs. Which is a crying😢 shame for their viewers when it is really obviousthey are in a hurry.. So, thanks😏 to explorers who truly enjoy what they do🙃 and are honestly seeking their viewers satisfaction. brooke lynn. I was born & raised in Columbia, Adair County. But in the 1960's it was a lot smaller than now. But I was raised back in the hollars & hills..lol I'm old now & a widow but all the family I have now down there are dead, excep for nieces & a nephew & cousins, so no reason now to move back. I got married at 15 & only lived there abt 4 or 5 months. I've been here ever since, raised my 2 sons here & retired from a hospital after 21 years as a nurses aide. .but I still talk the same..lol Got teased about that,but people seemed to like me just like I was. My 2nd husband died almost 2 years ago & I travel down there by myself ,& my dog in the summer months.

What a beautiful place! The architecture is so interesting, and to think of the craftsmen who worked on this home! It so sad to think of the families and lives that have filled its rooms with laughter and tears, but it only has its memories and is left alone and forgotten.

When the rooms with the names & dates were being shown, the thought came to me that maybe those rooms were used to either hide people or imprison people, esp. given the time period.

Who ever does your camera shooting and editing has one of the Best Eyes for it. I love the angles that have been shot. Your narrative is extremely well done.
