Hmm just like forward, make sure you don't look down and get some speed! Don't break at the waist--squeeze your abs. And if your foot is caving in on one edge or the other, adjust your boots. Hope this helps!

@@MindfulBanter I think speed will fix it! It's much easier to do forwards when I'm faster, too. Now I just need to convince my brain we're not gonna die going backwards, haha. Thank you so much for your help!!

man, forward crossovers were like the longest basic thing for me to get back after returning to skating and i still don't feel great in them. getting my energy into my inside hip scares me so much even though it makes it a lot more powerful

I feel like they're a never-ending skill you have to build and maintain. Even the elites can have weak crossovers 😱

Hi! I would suggest having a look at my Risport Scott Hamilton video for some recommendations. The Electra or Antares would be a good separate boot, the blades are really up to what's in stock at the pro shop if I'm honest. MK professional, John Wilson Coronation Ace are popular entry levels for adults.
